Yeah, I actually loathe that map, sadly it's one of my best. Gotta love sneaking up on all of those camping snipers in the back.

Yeah I've gotten used to that.. it's way fun, har har random grenades >;/

Just a small rant and then some clear skies again. May be a bit stupid but I've been so frustrated lately I need to spew hot air.

Regular Team DM, Mercenary TDM, and Sabotage are trash. If you can read a radar you can get kills. It's pathetic. While I don't consider myself a god, by any means, I do fairly well. My accuracy is in no danger of breaking 20.10% and my K/D 1.89%, 1.90%. My win loss column is pathetic though and it has just happened recently. I can't seem to buy a team that can win a game despite pullin' my weight along with at least two or three others. It's just awful, to say the least. I've been radar camped like a mofo and killed in the most random of situations. Things were so bad I even considered pickin' up R6V2 and devotin' my time to it. I needed a change but I didn't think I'd find that change within CoD4 O_O.

Enter Hardcore modes. I've enjoyed -some- hardcore play in my days, though be it small, with some of you guys. However, I never really got to much into it for some reason. Now, I don't think I'll ever go back to regular modes. When you get killed you know the person on the other end actually deserved it, most times. If you find a smart spot to post up, you're not given away by the killcam... and radar, juggernaut, and stopping power don't mean shit. I'm lovin' this mode of play and it's really 100% different and 100% better than regular modes. I don't know how I ever dealt with regular modes especially as long as I did. The radar situation alone makes a big change in how skillful you need to be to play. As of now I've never lost a match and at least had 3-4 kills to every death. Hell, I've played a lot of games where I'd go 16-0+ this afternoon. One person can make a difference in this mode and it seems the competence of the players is far better. Every team I've been on have called positions and give useful chatter, I can't get enough of it. It's 100% different than other modes. I'm relieved to not have to retire my CoD4 disk from frustration, very relieved.

Still thinkin' about pickin' up R6V2 though for some diversity from time to time. I can't decide though since I never got into the first one.

Heh, it's funny, your rant is exactly why I hate Hardcore.

It caters so much to people just camping out in some obnoxious spot and getting an easy K:D ratio. In my eyes, it takes far more skill to put out a 9:1 K:D in TDM when you're running in, moving around, "Ramboing", as I like to call it, than just chillin out in some corner pickin people off.

Oh btw Ele, I got the basketball down from the awning by throwing a rock at it, rofl.

I guess I like it better because it's simply just more realistic. If you don't think before you move or shoot, you're dead. Similarly if you don't think correctly and play it like a chess game, you're dead. True it may cater to campers a bit more but the better skill, imo, is in not letting the campers beat you. I don't rack up as many kills as I did in regular TDM, which is decreasin' my K/D ratio a bit but it'll pick up once I get better, but it provides me with an indefinitely greater challenge. I camp when necessary, move when necessary, and shoot when necessary. Hell, I don't even fire unless I'm 100% I can get the kill. Besides, in a real war I highly doubt you find to many "Rambos", if any at all, that are a help more than a hindrance.

That aside, I rather enjoy the fact that stopping power and juggernaut (I never use juggernaut but on every build I had stopping power which is a waste I think, but it's necessary in regular play) are utterly worthless. Provides me with a better array of skills to choose from which changes my play style up so much that it's almost a completely new game.

Heh, I actually do better on HCTDM, in terms of ratio, by virtue of the fact that I play far more conservatively, but in turn get much fewer kills. My average game on TDM is probably 25:7 or so, and on HC it's more like 19:2...

It's certainly more realistic, and is definitely a completely different game, and a different skillset. It just allows a noob player to throw on a silencer and sit in a corner and get 4-5 kills per death, whereas on regular that doesn't work as well. Of course in war you wouldn't get a rambo <_< but also in war, you coordinate extremely well with your team, everything is planned out ahead of time, although improv is still necessary, of course.

To each their own, I suppose.

Edit: We should play together sometime, Strid.

I'm down. Though you'll have to pardon my skills for a bit. I think this week is the first time I've played the game in about two months. Seems I do okay a game or two then tank a few, never steady like I use to be. Hopefully It'll smooth out. Would be nice to get some games goin' like everyone here use to. We'd have a full team, mostly at least, and just steam roll mofos.

Opinion. But nothing wrong with that.

Strid I agree with you in regards to regular and harcore modes. I wish they would intorduce hardcore Free-For-All for the very few occassions I don't have a million people online waiting to play with me. Regaular is frustrating for the most part due to the amount of ammo it takes to finally kill someone, which to me is unrealistic. However, that being said, if you were skillful with a silencer it wouldn't matter about radar in regular mode :) It's not smart to camp in Teamdeath match period.. if your opponants are smart they will realize where you just killed them from and come for you, least I do. A smartly thrown granade will take care of your camping ass :)

I have been playing hardcore for pretty much all my CoD4 experience less maybe a month, once I was introduced and got the hang of no air support untiil earned I was hooked.

I'm a co-leader in a clan of 20+ members, once we play enough games to actually establish ourselves I know we'll do extremely well. We play mostly S&D however we will play some TD. I tried one run at a TD clan match but it turned out quite brutel. The first round was great we ended up on top, the following 2 were terrible. The opposing teams would get one kill ahead of us and go camp (for instance) in the basement of the construction building on Backlot. Claymore it to hell and post a guy facing every possible entrance.. we got murdered.. it was very frustrating coming from playing hardcore TD ingame where you just went balls out, to straight up camping which to me belongs in S&D only.

I'm nearly at my goldcross.. (yeah yeah no lifer goldcross), I had lotsa help. I love this game, BY FAR the best FPS I have ever played, although I can say I've only ever played a handful. To be honest I never was really into these kinds of games.. and Icewolf helped me see the light. Probably the main reason I haven't played FFXI in a long time, because it just seemed so damn slow and almost pointless after playing CoD4.

Hit me up for a game sometime >.>.>.> 360 of course

If you like... We can get our XYA clan together and face off some time eh? We would be a great challenge. I am just tired of playing against broken parties and half the opposing squad quiting 300 points into the match. If interested i am Osiris203... I would introduce you to the others from there.

EDIT: Forgot to add XYA is like a 90% Qcdn members clan lol.

Silencer is a lost cause when the UAV gets flipped on. Anyways, that is an ancient post.

With like a 99.7% win record, amirite? I don't think I ever lost a game playin' with you guys and we use to play all the damn time.

Lulzy bog matches. Winning 750 to <100. We dominated at that pretty hardcore.

I bet that is somewhat accurate lol.

There has been only one clan that was a serious challenge to us... After we beat them they left the party and we could not get them back;;

Every once and a while you play against one of those guys that has the best match of his life and makes it close. We dont lose much at all is what it comes down to.

so i hear there will be new perks and stuff this fall? any truth on that?

Not sure. But i am guessing they will further break the game.
