call of duty

Beat it on Normal. Going to try on Hard. My fav. mission was the one with Macmillin(sniper) and ofcourse that one where you're in the plane throwing bombs.
Just got to that mission, love the Ghillie suits.

So I'm looking to pick up either COD4 (prob with a ps3) or Crysis for my solid gaming PC... which of these two shooters would you guys say is the better buy and why?

ofcourse that one where you're in the plane throwing bombs.

I think you are thinking of the AC130 level. Those aren't actually bombs per se, more artillary shells or really big fuckin bullets.

If you've seen Transformers, that plane they show circling the scorpion thing in the desert and firing from a distance is an AC130.

I really liked that level too. The USMC chopper level was nice as well. I also liked the final-final mission; definite movie-eque feel to it.

I don't know what crysis is, but if it could possibly be even close to CoD4, then you won't be dissappointed either way. CoD4 is my favorite game to come out in a long time.

Having played the full versions of Crysis and COD4, I'd have to guess that Crysis offers more variety on single player gameplay because of how many ways there are to accomplish everything... but it's really hard to choose. I'd have to get both.

How is the multiplayer for Crysis? I'm worried that the intense graphics are going to make it choppy and slow.

I just got to the SAS mission in act 2 where you're defending a hill, and you fall back to the top, then you have to run back down the hill through the entire army to get to your new LZ. Is there some trick to this, or do I just have to run and hope for the best, or am I actually supposed to fight my way through? I've tried fighting, but they keep coming, and I've tried running but I don't get very far. I'm sure there's something to it, but I haven't had the time to figure it out.

My first time through, I just sprinted like a crazy fucker right through the middle and somehow made it. Second time I worked my way slowly through crouched and picked people off that were in my way.

If that's the mission I'm thinking of, you get 6-7 Airstrikes. I just would Airstrike an area and then move to it. If I've mistaken the level for another, my bad.

I did it without the Airstrikes, but i was reallllllyyy close to the time limit (they actually started taking off). The airstrikes make that level so much easier, its pretty nuts.

I've had the game since it came out on PC, haven't even touched SP yet, just been MPing D:

I completed SP yesterday in about 3 hours, not impressed.

Sadly I'm on a downloaded version so I'm going to have to play on a friend's cracked server to get the full effect. Ah well.

Depends on your difficulty level. When I played through on regular, I took off down the left drainage ditch. I had to run n gun and pick off a few guys en route to the fence line. Once you hop the fence, just hug the left side and jump down the hills to the extraction zone. It was fairly easy. I never even used an airstrike (didn't really know about them tbh).

Hardened was a different matter. Getting out of the farm area is tough. I ended up cutting through the smaller barn to the secondary field. I used an airstrike to clear it out a little, then made a maddash for the fenceline. Once there, it's pretty much the same: Go down the left side to the extraction zone.
