Campaign - How do we gain control?

Reraise earring.

yup then if its not in town and we get squished us plds can sit there rotting in the fields cos you mages dont wanna raise us after a campaign battle cos you tags wore of and you get nothing for it

im sorry if this dosnt apply to you but the amount of mages that run past deal ppl with out even stopping to look nevermind raise pisses me off this is why most plds out there now are FORCED to sub whm for RR
only great thing about citys is there is people coming by all the time not so true for other areas

Yeah . . . I'm the guy who makes it a habit to /shout "[Raise] [Do you need it?] [/tell] <me>" a few times before I leave an area, and for those who don't already know, you can initiate a /tell while KO'd - /tell "whoever."

Funny you should mention the subject of Raises, though. I'm gonna state this here so you guys understand my stance on it in Campaign: If I see you die meleeing a boss notorious for his Pwnga potential when the NPCs already have it well under control, I'll leave you gathering flies . . . at least til the fight's over. That's really the only way I can express how strongly I believe in making some effort to approach campaign with /brain subbed.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'll state that upfront. For some reason I was under the impression I heard/read/saw something about a limit on the number of people in a LS at any given time. Could have sworn it was 64 but who knows. If not please don't belittle me it was just me wondering. I wish there was an easier way to get everyone on the same page in Campaign and the LS sounds like a good start. Someone please let me know if this gets off the ground as I would like to join since I don't know a lot of people who do Campaign alot.

Great job @ Grauberg S guys, you managed to Stop Bo' Dho's elite guard. They failed and lost influence. Bastok has a chance now! Influence is pretty high there.

well hell i'd love to do the campaign LS idea haha. I think we need to do something and quick before beastmen get in our base and stealz our honorz!

I'm quite sure you're right there, Illy.

Just replying to a few posts at the begining of this thread.
Every time you reduce a fortification to 50% HP it regains its HP but it looses 1 fortification point. So in a full battle they usualy loose avarage 80 points if PC & NPC beat them up pretty bad.
However if the area has Resources they will turn back into fortification points, im not sure of the time it takes but 1 resource = 1 fortification point. So basically you have to keep beating the daylights out of the fortification till 0 forification points & 0 resources

But to stop resources coming back you have to kill the "Transporter" mob + its 2 "Guards".
As stated they seem to aggro but dont actualy engage, This is actually a kind of "We detected you" for anyone who knows how it works. If you "claim" the transporter BEFORE it "detects" you it will engage you with its guards(have to claim from behind to avoud detection)

However if you "claim" the transporter AFTER it detects you it will run non-stop to deliver its supplys making it almost imposible to kill.
The Transporters dont have much HP, only about 1500 I think so most DD jobs can easly kill it as the 2 guards will warp about 20 seconds after you kill the transporter (I do this Campaign.OP often as PLD & it is easy if you get TP for Vorpal blade at start)

Anyway thats how i see the Fortification & resource points just attack the fortification & stop Transporters delivering supplys & you gain area. Only problem is that not many/Any people stop the transporters as most people do not know how to properly "Claim" it.

Hope some of this info helps

I do campiagn quite often, if people wanted to organise and maybe we could take the fight to the bst homebases. I hear its fun attacking beastmen camps. Besides I'm getting sick of always being on the defensive, we should go wreck their camps for a change. :)

Hi again, guys :)

Here's a few more things I think can have a significant impact on success/failure in Campaign:

Morale Officer
This is the other booth at the "AH." I've noticed that since the inception of Campaign that Sandy's primary plan of attack has been "Preemptive Strike," regardless of the appearance of the campaign map. "Why preemptive strike?" you might ask. Well, for one thing it sounds cool, but it's not exactly the best choice of action when you find yourself totally surrounded by your enemy. As I'd expect, while Sandy's focused on preemptive strikes, they seem to attack the "distant" zones somewhere between 3 to 5 times more often than they attack East Ron. Looking through the options we have available, I think "Battleline Preservation" is the plan of attack that will make our forces concentrate their efforts closer to home. After all, if we can alternate between town fights and fights in our front yard, pretty soon we'll be able to *just* fight in our front yard and more easily tele from area to area.

In a land war, you'd first want to maintain (preserve) your battlelines, fortifiy seized territory, then consider preemptive strikes. Personally, I think that "war by committee" (which is what we seem to have at present) is placing too much power in the hands of us grunts. I think that each town's AI should be deciding on its own military strategy and its implementation should depend on how successfully the players complete the Ops that the AIs deem to be high priority.

For Bastok I choose:

General : 1st Division Legatus Maximillian Berger , because he just rapes everything in his path.

Battle Strategies : Preemptive Strike, pretty obvious why lol

Internal Policies : Military supply procurement

For me right now, it's:

General: Leonoyne (sounds like Leonitus and he's got a bevvy of hawt redheads following him around everywhere :P)

Strategy: Battleline Preservation (to see if that makes them focus on East Ron more)

Internal: Resource Procurement

Earlier, some of my friends and I noticed that maybe the options are listed in order of progression, for instance:

Resource Procurement
Military supply procurement
Supply Logistics
etc. (I'm doin this from memory here)

Now, notice that the logical progression is: get raw materials/capital, refine them into something useful, figure out how best to get the refined goods to your troops in the field. I'm workin on the assumption that in our current state of subjugation, we should all be choosing to solid up our lines of defense and grabbing all the resources we can. After all, preemptive strikes rely on the mobility of your forces. With cities being attacked every 5-10 minutes, our mobility is severely hampered. Like Xalioniaf suggested, perhaps we should be concentrating our efforts in towns and their adjacent front yards. Now all we have to do is figure out how to make our NPCs do the same.

We Bastokian's should continually attack Grauberg tonight, the balance of power there has tipped in our favor and by update time Sunday morning we could be the only nation with something more to admire than our front lawn. :)

lot of sandy alliance does graberg because it is normally under attack when all of sandy region is not.

Not really, if any area, I would have to say Pashhow Marshlands S.

And why would Sandy do Grauberg? lol Vunkerk Inlet S is so easy for them! Imps wonder outside...away from the mobs making them easy targets. After that just make your way in killing orcs 1 by 1.

Damn its looking close, too close the beastmen may sqeak out the win by update time. I'm off now gained 11k exp just leveling up my 67 sam there most of the night lol.

Beastmen can easily take it. I remember when Bastok lost this zone, I was SO SURE that Bastok would hold it.

After update I was like what happened?? The beastmen bribed the tally?

We've *almost* got Grauberg - push, folks! If you can do Slaughterhouse III, bomb the hell out of it.

Fucking ROBBED! Right before the campaign tally, we were neck and neck with the beastmen. About 30s before it actually went, a campaign battle began, and ended exactly a minute later. We went from like 99% down to 50% with the beastmen at full. Literally, The allied forces retreated as soon as they spawned. Had it actually lasted, we had about 30 people in zone ready to rape the fortress.

New and improved, my ass. Blatant cheating, SE.

This seem's like a set-up like its scripted or something, people were pouring into Grauberg all night. And then the Beastmen pull out a last second win. For shame.
