Cant find a healer? Well...

Let's just sum up this thread and a lot of future threads:

Blu can do just about anything in a pinch. Heal, tank, dd, whatever. IN A PINCH, a blu can save your party from falling apart. It is not better than a native tanking job at tanking. It is not better than a native healing job at healing. But it will fit the bill if you cannot find anything else and do not feel like waiting. A blu, however, cannot haste or refresh a party.

There, that should sum this up as well as a few potential future topics (aka blu tanking).

And yes, I'm talking about exp onry.

Fixed couple stuff for you :D
Blu is a flexible job like Rdm, as long the player playing the job is competent enough and understand their job. Like i mentioned i have main heal couple of times as Blu at different level range. They are definitely not anywhere as good as whm or smn or rdm , but they are good enough if no other healer available.

Adding one more stuff on Pakomen summing up, a competent player tends to make impossible works while the not-so-competent player tends to... erm... you-know-what. >_>

Had a party of 4 in Bibiki Bay around level 68. WAR/NIN x 2, THF/NIN, and BLU/WHM. I'll be damned if we didn't net about 4-5k an hour dinkin around up to chain 4-5's.

That blu did a wonderful job. Yeah, it can seem to work in the right setup.

Ninjas, if haste has turned into a necessity instead of a luxury, level PLD you may enjoy it more. :)
 
I would like to add one final thought into this thread for those thinking of taking up blue mage.

Blue mage is a complicated, time consuming job. Not complicated in a bad way. Complicated in that it has the ability to customize itself to adapt to any situation. Time consuming in that it'll take days, weeks, months to get all of your spells. And even more time consuming in that it'll take even MORE days, weeks, months to actually figure out every situation where every single spell would be practical.

If you do not enjoy killing 40 crabs to pick up metallic body, killing 40 crawlers to pick up cocoon, or heck, killing 40 bees to get pollen, you (and the entire server) would be better off (if you) quitting at lvl7.

Do not take up this job if you are not going to take it seriously. There is NO excuse for a blu sucking so bad that even if the situation arose wouldn't be able to main heal. There is NO excuse for a blu sucking so bad that even if the situation arose wouldn't be able to tank. This job is not for the naive. If you cannot think outside the box, stick to melle.

Pakomen you forgot about fighting bombs for hours to learn Self-Destruct. (2-5hours or more depending on your luck)

My worst was probably cocoon and metallic body lmfao. I swear to god, I was about to throw my computer off the balcony hahahaha.

My most brutal so far was probably feather barrier. Man I kept getting my ass pwned trying to solo that lol. And then to find out it sucks donkey balls. D:

I main healed sorta on my blm in Garliage Citadel. However, I am literally the greatest thing to happen in the game since sliced bread. At least as far as healing is concerned. Shit, I still Magic Bursted too. XD har har
