Just a heads up to those who know me, with regard to some changes in my life/game situation.

To my friends, fond acquantances and everyone I worked with in Paragon/Virtuous/ShakenBake;

As of friday my situation has completely changed. I'm now at University doing a full-time undergraduate degree and, assuming things go well, will be doing so for the next four years (the first of which will be spent on campus, in the student halls).

Initially I had intended to setup the game here in the student halls and continue playing, though casually. Hence the transfer of leadership for Paragon and Virtuous, and to lack of time in ShakenBake too (for which I apologise for the short notice). The connection here is limited however, and online gaming/streaming is completely blocked by the campus network due to it's excessive bandwidth usage. As a result, I currently can't access FFXI. This may or may not be temporary depending on whether or not I can setup a private connection, but for now at least it seems like I won't be able to play during my semesters. (No doubt i'll be back after terms end though.)

This was completely against my will as I had intended to continue playing, so I apologise for the short-notice. I enjoyed my time playing with you all, and to Para/Virt especially I appreciate all the hard work and effort that made the shells what they are.

I'll still hang around the boards although probably a lot less frequently than before, time permitting, so i'm here if you want to keep in touch. (Otherwise my current msn address is [email protected].)

Hope to be back online soon, see you round guys.

God damn universities blocking online gaming!
Hope you enjoy it at uni anyway man
peace.

I do hate university connections because of that specific reason. Probably when I transfer to the 4 year near my home I'm gonna get an apartment instead.
Have a good time off, Dia. I've run into you god knows how many times, and you were always awesome.

You know I <3 you sweetness. ^.~

Best of luck Dia

Stinks when that kind of stuff happens beyond your control. Nonetheless, I hope university goes really well for you and that you enjoy the time away. Take care and good luck!

Awwwww, sad news! ;; But good luck with your studies! I'll just have to send your cakes there! ;)

This is probably your best bet Dia, you should be able to have the dorm fee portion of your student loan (assuming you have one) to an apartment. In alot of the college towns apartments are cheaper and the local residents know it, you might end up saving yourself or your parents a few grand.

oh shit, i went 2 posts passed where i wanted to stop for a day

see you around man

That's assuming it works the same over there in Europe as it does here Motley -.-;; no idea, hopefully it does.

Well, my fees are almost entirely covered by various grants and loans. I'm an English citizen which means that I have to pay a large portion of the fees myself, but am however studying in a Scottish University. As Scottish citizens get their education paid for by their Government (even at foreign universities), i'm entitled to a slight deduction myself... though my grants/loans only cover my accomodation fees if i'm a resident at the campus. Put simply, it wasn't a realistic option to get private accomodation for my first year.

Hope to see you back soon dia- fantastic guy and great leader.
Fill your FFIX time with women and drink now..... oh and of couse studying.

thanks for being a part of shakenbake for as long as you were. good luck in the future.

Wear protection with those women after the drinks tho!!!

Don't want any mini dias running around.

Eureka!

Although the signal strength is laughable, I've finally setup my internet successfully in my new room. I'm prone to disconnect every 5 minutes, but it's functional. Looks like i'll be around a bit more afterall... assuming there's no dissertations/essays needing writing. Q_Q

See you all in game very soon!

Internet gaming wins again!!!

Depends what you are studying ;)

That was probably rhetorical, but it's a good excuse to tell you what i'm doing anyway.

So!

Primarily a BA in Psychology, with Philosophy and a side-order of Modern European Cinema.

Yeah there'll be essays galore. I'm doing a SIM in German cinema probably. Just going to do one big essay for it I think. Uni's great if you get along with the people and like the place you are. I hated it at Salford and in Manchester yet love it back home.
