{/check}{No Thanks.}{Leave}

If I don't know you (and don't have a bazaar up or LFG flag flying), personally I kind of feel like, "Why don't you mind your own fucking business"...

Some people might be curious, sure, but I'm entitled to find them to be nosy, being on the receiving end.

But w/e, that's JUST my opinion. I have never yelled at someone checking me, nor have I ever once called a GM, and I almost always ask to check others. It's just how I view things. I won't be offended if you check me, if you promise not to be offended that I swap gear and don't give a shit what you think about it. :)

Bottom line, Gais and Serio, etc. are entitled to their opinion. They are also dipshits.

Gais likes me for some reason, always waves and stuff, lol. And I don't really care when people check me, unless I have subpar gear on for some reason (level cap, stuff's in MH or lent out, etc) then I feel gimpy, heh.

I tought back in the day that it was their way of maintaining very rare items hidden. But after 3.5 years of the same shit I know it's all BS. If the option is in the game they must know players will use it, even if they hate it...

One thing people forget is that there is no race, religion, or cultures on this game. Everyone is everyone. If you push shit like this in a video game it means you're an idiot.

The only thing that should matter is having fun. people who freak out over little things shouldn't be playing. That includes yelling at someone across the world for not knowing your cultures.

The only thing that should be hated are Elvaans. No one fucking likes their ugly interspecies erotica loving asses.

I lol'd... Poor Elvaans.. :biggrin:

Don't forget those dickless Galkas!

When I first started this game, a friend told me that if I wanted to see what kind of gear another char was wearing, the best way to do it would be asking him/her in a tell first.

That way you show that you got manners, and if the person did not want you to check him, you simply dont. I just stopped checking ppl cause i know that not everyone likes it. That way you stay friends with most ppl =).

/em is not a checker

Dude you have no idea, in the comprehension of cultures. First off, its not because they think americans are racist pigs(Its because alot of PEOPLE in general do not like getting checked by random people)

Secondly it just so happens that JPN do it more because idiots like you check them 40-50 times in a row

Its not because of racism... And you cant say that i dont know.
You have to be fucking kidding me.

You're saying JPN do it more because iditions like him check them 40-50 times in a row?

Seriously, he checked him once. Not 40-50 times in a row. and I have never, EVER, been checked 40-50 times in a row.

I'm guessing you're another moron that dresses like their favourite manga figure to be hip in the Japanese culture?

It's so mean and I love my galka but the way you said this made me laugh so hard. :biggrin:

The only thing that kinda bothers me is people that /check you at what I consider really inappropriate times. Like when you're dead (bazaar shoppers when you're dead is kinda obnoxious), or in the midst of an intense fight and don't need the distraction.

I just wish people would develop a sense of courtesy about the whole thing (or a sense of courtesy in general). I almost always ask first before I examine someone. And if I examine instead of /check and they swap equip, I don't examine them again. I personally don't think it's an issue worth flipping out over on either side. In the scheme of things, if you don't like something, whatever it is, you wouldn't want someone doing it to you. Simply don't make an issue where there shouldn't be one, especially over something so trivial in the scheme of things.

I have a friend who rarely plays now but was my best friend on the game a lot of you older people probably remember him Teng. We were like best friends and even though he knew I never cared he would always ask before he /c'd me and I did the same back to him.

However Serio is a different story lol this guys takes it WAY to far. I only checked him 1 time and after that he harassed me for the next 30mins until I ended up calling a GM on him and then he stopped.

They consider it a invasion of privacy.

Bold = corrections.

Except, it's not.

Because they don't own those items, or even their character. It's all property of Square-Enix.

They can consider it is all they want, it doesn't change the fact that it isn't.

If they want to get GMs involved over people using a feature in the game, I'm going to start making calls on anyone who provokes a mob I wanted to fight. Ofcourse, the difference is - I know nothing'll come of such a frivolous call, where as our sad, broken hearted friends actually believe calling a GM on someone checking them will have something happen.

Honestly, if you get offended over someone checking you in a video game, you need to shut down the game and go think about your life because that is a pretty odd thing to have a fit about.

Culture doesn't matter, I mean, it may be offensive to go up to someone in real life and check there bra, boxers, pants, shirt tag or w/e but in FFXI, it's not like you are virtually raping them.

I also like to know if people in my party are gimp or not.

LOL the mental image I got.

First off, you obviously misread it. I set an example... Same principle on why NA members dont let people check them.

Secondly you fucking racist asshole, I am Japanese. So maybe you should be less Racist you pig

since serio gets so offended by people checking him perhaps we can have an everyone check serio day

I don't ask anyone for permission to /check them. If I'm curious about their gear (which I rarely am), I'll look just because I have the option. It's their hangup, not mine. As we so often say, they can filter it out if they don't like it.

lol halifirien you're old
off topic

always thought you were like an emo kid or something since i think you're like the openly gay dude on forums. no offense!!!! i could have just been reading things wrong or have names mixed up, sorry.

damn, Jyakotsu. Don't let your emotions take over. It's the interweb. you're better than that...then again, you dated a guy on FF..last I heard lol

I heard some time ago that people don't like being checked because they feel like you're staring at or challenging them.

Still...filter checks, and you'll never know the difference.

I got checked virtually every ten minutes in the XP party I was in last night. Did get kindof annoying after a while. ^^;

Oddly enough, I XPed with Serio just the other day, believe on his SAM. He was actually pretty nice to me for some reason. =/
