The one valid criticism is that he could've given more of a warning than he did. He was certainly not obligated to find a replacement for a party he personally considered bad. Nor was he obligated to stick around in such a party. The setup and location alone would imply that it would go reasonably well (unlike the example you just gave, where you know even before joining that it *isn't* gonna be good - do try to compare apples to apples if you want anyone to take your analogies seriously, sweetie), so the only way to realize that *wasn't* the case, would be after going there and getting started.
Though I do have to wtf a bit at the request for Minuet/March on *colibris*, unless all the frontliners enjoy repeatedly throwing away sushi. Madrigal/Minuet is the standard for them, maybe Madrigal/March if all the frontliners eat some sort of cheap meat. (And just because one frontliner may have enough acc gear not to need Madrigal *or* sushi on colibris, doesn't remotely imply that's true for the other three people - and choice of bard buffs is for what's best for the group, not for an individual frontliner. And merit parties certainly aren't a situation where you can spot buff individuals with their own personal songs, unless you have two bards.)
