Chemira is a piece of trash...

The one valid criticism is that he could've given more of a warning than he did. He was certainly not obligated to find a replacement for a party he personally considered bad. Nor was he obligated to stick around in such a party. The setup and location alone would imply that it would go reasonably well (unlike the example you just gave, where you know even before joining that it *isn't* gonna be good - do try to compare apples to apples if you want anyone to take your analogies seriously, sweetie), so the only way to realize that *wasn't* the case, would be after going there and getting started.

Though I do have to wtf a bit at the request for Minuet/March on *colibris*, unless all the frontliners enjoy repeatedly throwing away sushi. Madrigal/Minuet is the standard for them, maybe Madrigal/March if all the frontliners eat some sort of cheap meat. (And just because one frontliner may have enough acc gear not to need Madrigal *or* sushi on colibris, doesn't remotely imply that's true for the other three people - and choice of bard buffs is for what's best for the group, not for an individual frontliner. And merit parties certainly aren't a situation where you can spot buff individuals with their own personal songs, unless you have two bards.)

Just avoid the lolColibiri camp.

You can get great xp anywhere, but that place is just retarded. I'd much rather do a Deco cannon then that piece of shit place that calls itself an xp area.

Now thats just crazy talk, fuck decos. i went there a few months ago, that place fucking sucked...can't believe I used to love those little things.

It will suck if you get a bard who can't pull worth shit. There's a certain pattern that must be followed.

Min/March is decent on colibri if your melee are geared/meritted well, which vilurum already said so just ignore this post...

Your avatar is cuter, you'll get the reps for this one!

Decos are all right, but the stun is just stupidly obnoxious, and the repops tend to be a little too slow for a good party. A good party will typically have to slow down its kill speed - high enough to keep chain but low enough to make sure there continue to exist mobs *to* chain. Also, while it's possible to infinite chain them, it's a somewhat obnoxious pattern to maintain, involving a lot of running around (for the whole party), and a large dependence on the assumption that no random people are gonna screw with the doors.

As for colibris, they're well suited to reasonably but not uberly geared melees (reasonably priced standard AH gear, etc.) and/or relatively few merits. More pimped out parties will, however, plow through them way too fast, and due to the dropoffs preventing sufficiently large roaming, will consequently lose chain. As far as mobs to target go, they have their *annoying* moves (notably zeroing TP and stealing food), but aren't very *damaging*, and are rather squishy to kill. And their annoying moves aren't nearly as annoying as those of imps. (This consequently also makes colibris a wiser choice if the WHM or RDM isn't quite as good at managing MP as they could be.) Furthermore, their base exp is quite high for their HP.

Personally I prefer to hunt mamool ja with really pimped out parties, and colibris with more average to above average parties.

Yea I did ask for min/mad.

Stop gimping parties Chem, thought I knew you better than that. :bb:

I am. I skoffin people at any opportunity.

(Skoffin: v.tr. to pull a skoffin with the intention of getting at least one melee killed by it, and succeed in that.)

If you fail to kill anyone, you can at least rest assured that the WHM is pissed at you as he rebuffs the party.

This works even better with RDMs, it takes them more time and MP, and if this really works out nicely, the skoffining may result in further deaths to non-skoffins. This is called chain skoffination and adds to the force of the original skoffining.

Skoffining is, however, to be used only under one of the following conditions:

1. There's a lack of anything else to pull.
2. Plain old fun and giggles.
3. There's a melee present, usually MNK, who thinks WAR sub in cannon merit parties makes for the best exp/hr. (In this case, *targeted* skoffining is needed.)

we sub /whm in merit pt cu ra ga ^__~__^

/BLM for ES+Sleepga would have been more effective seeing as though Colibri don't have an obnoxious aoe.

Rule of colibris is you do not use aoe sleeps on them. Well, unless your party preemptively pops poison pots. Otherwise they kindly see to it that the party takes a collective shadow-wiping nap, when they wake up. And they often don't go over to smack someone with a cure spell until they've pecked through at least one melee.

That's why multiple colibri links are a little more annoying than other links, because you can't use aoe sleeps as a backup, and everything has to be slept with a single target sleep (or just left awake, and blink their attacks). However, it's not terribly hard to park your party and plan your pulls such that links are rare and multiple links are extremely rare.

Regularly having four colibris showing you their love is indicative of a bad place to park your party and/or a sloppy puller. Occasionally it might happen to a good puller (some colibri moves in such a way, after you start pulling, as to bridge a gap and result in a chain linking of a bunch of them), but usually it won't.

Also, once you get going on them and are killing repops, links are more or less a non-issue.

Lol! I'll have to start using that term. Never forget the first time I pulled one of those with whm sub...

Yeah, they're a bit ouchy to pull with WHM sub, one of the few times I cure my HP out of the yellow (gogo Minstrel's Ring) and maybe even bother to put up Stoneskin and/or Blink if it's a long pull as well. Still, Earth Staff + def/VIT/-dmg% gear + tacos goes a very long way.

Ya I forgot about the reflect magic bull shit -.-;
