child support

I'm done. Good luck. There are a ton of people who have come to the boards and said the laws are right. That I am right. You don't like the response you got from the initial post you wrote. You wanted all the guys to band together in here and say, "Yah dude, you're getting a bum deal." Well guess what? You're NOT!!! You are just doing your PORTION of raising your son. And I do mean PORTION. Not half, not 1/3, mebbe 1/4.

think kat...really use that thing above your shoulders. all of the return posts have been about "yes, people should pay their support". this is a totally different topic im talking about your dumb ass ho. get that in your fuckin skull.
arguing with women is totally impossible. you think that what your saying is correct. even if you did listen to anything i say, you will still hold your answer to being right because thats what you want.
think logically kat, if you can. your telling me a kid cant live off of 500 a month?(which is 250 of the mans part. and if split equally, which it should since there are 2 parents, then that equals 500) is that too much to ask for? for the woman to split the cost of the child equally? but wait, you prefer a man to pay for everything. get a clue

id say grow up, but your old enough ....instead ill say get educated and learn to listen to what others have to say before you shoot the logic down

And I do mean PORTION. Not half, not 1/3, mebbe 1/4.
and yes, i am paying my portion. just as the ex should be paying her portion. dont feed no bs about "wah wah, housing this, utility bills that" cry me a river.

tell me this, why is it most women whine about not getting shit free....you know, kinda how kat acts toward the subject

before i forget, 30% is 1/3 kthxbai
damnit no edit button, if your talking about the total support, 250 would suffice as half. unless of course, a child needs more than 500 to live off of for a month. just for itself? nah...cant be possible. a kid cant possibly live off of 500 a month.

teh absolute point in this topic im talking about right now is....
there are 2 parents. neither one or the other should pay more than the opposite.right? unless your a gold digger, your answer would be "no, one should pay more"
well, women want equal rights, guess what, you pay equally for the child each month. if they do, the child has plenty to live off of. my case as an example would provide 500 a month for a child to live off of.

LOL, if you think anyone can live off of $500/month your fucking crazy. Oh and 30% is 3/10 not 1/3.
how can a NOT live off of 500 a month? explain that to me

actually, 1/3 should equal out to be .33 repeating. .33 in fraction form should be 1/3

err, wait...give me time to take a nap and think about that. im confused on my math atm from listening to a woman ramble about how hard they make their own life

ok, i looked it up, 3/10=30/100=30% 1/3=.33repeating=33%
so yes, i was thinking correct. sorry if i didnt add in the words "30% is CLOSE TO 1/3"

Ok, let's examine this. The expenses a child has.

Legally-

The man is obligated to make sure the child has medical insurance. Public school, not college, provides books for free, you just return them at the end of the year. You need stationary. So throughout a year, let's say you spend 60 bucks, which for pens, papers, maybe a posterboard or two, that's easy.

that's $5 on school supply/month.

Then food, let's say the mom makes the kid a school lunch, she spends maybe 8 bucks a week on sandwich supplies, at the most. Then 1 dollar a day on his drink, less if she just packs him a caprisun, but let's splurge. Let's just round it up for the purpose of saying there are 4 weeks in a month, and say you're spending 15 a week. This is assuming the state isn't giving you free school lunch which often it does, but I digress. The dad pays 15.

So that's $60 a month.

Then breakfast, let's say $6/week for cereal. $2 a week for milk. Let's say you spend $32 bucks a month on ceereal.

Then dinner, let's say you factor in about $5 a dinner for the kid. I'll throw in at some point in the day he's had a snack so that's $6. Now we're talking 180 bucks a month on dinner.

Then clothes, let's just assume that's $240 every 6 months. So you're paying like $40 a month average for clothes.

Therefore the minimum to raise a kid falls in the range of....

40, 180, 32, 60, 5 - 317 a month. That covers food, clothes, school supplies.

It's the custodial parent's obligation to pay for a place to live, they need to for themselves anyway.

Now when you look at those expenses, and you see Masterorion's case, you think $256 isn't so bad, the only problem is that the mom is instead of getting a job to support herself and that last 100 bucks or so (factor in other random crap a kid might need, like toys, toothpaste, ext).

You can say, yes it's tough to raise a kid while living alone, but yes it's still possible. Many of you women on this board did it without those monthly checks coming in so I don't see why some women can't. Any excuse you can give to why a woman can't pay, you can give the same excuse to why the guy can't pay 256.

But you see, here's the grift. Those mothers aren't the ones I have a problem with, the ones getting 256 a month. The amount you get is basically based on his salary as you all pointed out, the question becomes, what about those fathers who make 80k or more.

Here's where it gets fishy, the dad is then required to pay 2000 a month. If you have 2 kids it's less than 4000, unless you have 2 kids each with a different father. That's 4000 a month for your 2 kids. And then these women start getting welfare from the government as well, and I'm not sure the exact amount, but it's enough to live off basically without the child support. The welfare system ignores child support, and that's a problem.

Because then it assumes you aren't getting it, and gives you enough for you and your kids. Then you with your 2 kids are pulling in 4 grand a month. This becomes a pretty comfortable living, especially if you live somewhere that the cost of living is low. Being as you don't work, there's no reason to live someone closer to where you can find a good job. Since you're a mother without a job, they won't kick you off welfare.

This is how people abuse the system. Now don't take the fact that there are abuses in the system and that I want them corrected as an attack on all mothers on welfare and all months getting child support. Like I said, I just want chlid support payments to be a factor so welfare can be given out to those who need accordingly, and those getting 2k a month/kid don't need extra money from the government for their kid. They also don't need years of welfare for themselves, that money would pay for daycare and they could get a job!

All I would want is a system to be reformed to realize that different months have greater or less needs. Why are so many women here so vehemently opposed to this?

Lock the children in an office and force them to farm gil for you.

throughout this whole debate, FS has made very good points.

also, no one throughout the whole debate has stated that child support should be abolished. everyone states that it could use some tweaks. the only ones that dont agree are the ones that like to live off of other peoples incomes.
such arguments such as...."i dont get enough for support" it may be true that you dont, but you sure as hell dont need as much as you make it out to be. after all, its a joint venture raising a kid. why should a father or non custodial pay for ALL living expenses for the CHILD. it should be divided up into 2 equal amounts and for those 2 equal amounts, you cant add in housing and utilities. because we all know, child or no child, the custodial parent still needs a place to live. so that kind of argument about housing is a copout.
problem is, custodial parents think they do more than the other because they care for and overlook the daily events of the child. well, thats another copout. it wouldnt be that way if you also divided up the parental time. and this "its hard on the child" bs doesnt cut it as an excuse. you either divide up the parental time, or you dont bitch about having to watch over the kid so much.

flat out truth is, anyone that has answered to this discussion has NOT argued the point that child support shouldnt be paid. if a person is a real person, they will help provide for what they helped create.
just as kat supports those women that abuse the system and the ones that go by the system legally, i support the men and non custodials that pay support legally. however, i look after those that MAY have a hard time paying support for any unforseen circumstance. shit happens. im not saying that fathers shouldnt pay, but some things do come up and everyone here flat out knows that. the people that just are out and write off the child, they are the ones that i dont agree with.

Ya know it's pretty bad when I hit a nerve Master, that you have to resort to calling me a ho. Mebbe your ex wife did have a very good point after all in getting that little piece of paper to keep you away from not only her but your child also.

Cheers to your wife. And now I'm done. Grow up ya deadbeat loser. Pretty funny when someone's true colors come out over supporting their own blood firstly. Secondly, as I've said throughout this whole thread, I didn't get a dime from ex til Heather was 16 years old. I'd kindly thank you to not say that I was trying to 'get anything for free'. I was the one who took care of my child tyvm. Mebbe you should get off the boards 24/7 and especially this subject, and do something about your rl and for the I don't know how many times, quit whining and do something about your predicament.

Fire, you're 19 years old. You haven't even been married, let along had a child. Until you do, I really don't think you have squat to say. Nothing personal, you know how you and I discuss stuff^^.

And this will be the last post from me. Master, I truly feel from the way you reacted to my OPINION about this thread, you and I are no longer friends. Not that you care, but I'm definitely letting that be known. You went wayyyyy to far by calling me a ho. Very very disrespectful.

well, maybe if you fuckin listen, people wouldnt have to get uptight with you and resort to shit to make you listen

for one, you dont listen to anything i say because your still going on about a "predicament that im in" what predicament am i in?
that is among the many times that tells me that you dont listen to anything anyone says. and calling me a deadbeat...sorry, but i am getting tired of reitterating that i pay my support. you need to stop skimming shit and read stuff. im growing tired of stating stuff over and over and over.

i do sincerely appologize for jumping line and resort to name calling. but you dont think about whaat other people say when it comes to their opinion. that is already obvious since you think that the the money for the child that comes from the father is all there is....sorry, but child raising takes two. my 256 needs to be met equally by the other half. if that is done, there is plenty of money to go around. instead you think its a piddly amount. maybe the amount that you got from your ex was small, but that is a different situation.

One more thing. As far as living expenses go. When you are the non-custodial parent you can live in a 1 room boarding house. When you are the custodial parent even with only 1 child, you need at least a 1 bedroom apt. with a sofa bed for yourself in the livingroom. That right there is a higher cost than what the non-custodial pays. We are talking about the basics here, as you yourself are trying to point out. Therefore, why would you need at least a 1 bedroom apt. when you can do just as well with an efficiency correct? But, the custodial parent needs at least 2 rooms for sleeping arrangements alone.

Again, very very few non-custodial's have to pay 30%. Therefore, again, you are not paying half of the child's upkeep. And if you are paying 30% that sure the hell isn't 50% is it. So whatever, knock yourself out. Try to rationalize it so you look like you're getting a bum deal. Let me tell you, you're not.

Lastly, and I do mean lastly, I am so done after this, there are a ton of costs that aren't even mentioned in Fire's little breakdown. Kiere knows it, I know it, and I know there are others who are reading this thread and just not commenting who know it.

well, i still havent heard any rational expenses yet that makes it OOOO so important for a money hungry woman to get more.

oh, and yes, they are required to pay 30%. the only way they wont have to is if the case worker is a moron. again, this isnt the 80s or even 90s. shit changes. the law in fl is 30% if i remember correct
