Ahhhhhhhhhh it is only Tuesday.....this week is lasting FOREVER - I need a new job.

*Ok - a friend and I were talking about childhood fears yesterday...and cracking up - sooooo, what were yours?!

Mine: Clowns, or course...but not until I saw commercials for the IT movie. Loooooove Tim Curry and all, but I am not rushing to see that one.

***My biggest fear when I was really young was Tom Petty. Seriously, the guy used to give me nightmares. I would watch MTV all the time when it came out (though I was too young to really understand much of it) and one night I was up late, by myself - in the dark, and that Tom Petty "Alice In Wonderland" video came on. I was in awe - I LOVED ALICE!!! So, even though, he was physically scary looking, I continued to watch. Well - if you have seen the video, he turns her into a cake (her body anyway, her head and arms are flaying freely in fear) and cuts her up and eats her. Yeah. I mean, he appearence and voice are creepy enough when you are a small sheltered kid, but then....yeah. I was scarred for a long time. I like his music NOW - but didn't listen or watch any of his videos for a loooooong time. *and I still hate that song ;)

LMAO...

I am afraid of Skunks!! no joke I was chased through my house as a kid twice. Then one chased me up my driveway another time. Damn things hate me and the feelings are mutual. I couldn't imagine being sprayed by one I would just die.....

Not to say I dont like the smell of skunk, I smoke some stuff that smells like them. ....LOL

Ehh one of the worst nightmares I ever had involved the Lizardmen aliens from the t.v. mini-series "V" and there was a movie named "Dreamscape" or something like that where they did mental therapy by putting themselves into others dreams. One of the bad guys turns himself into a lizardman and that scared me shitless back when I was a kid. So I guess that.

Not a childhood fear, but I have this creeping existential angst about my glasses falling in the toilet whenever I go to the bathroom.

I was afraid of the "Dreamscape" lizardman, too! He freaked me out. The Visitors, not so much. Thanks for dredging a memory I'd managed to suppress. LOL

Jender- don't come around here no more!!

Kurgon- V, I would have never remembered that miniseries, but you just brought back some horrid memories of the mouse eating scenes.

I had the unfortunate experience of seeing The Shining waaaaay before I should have (like 5 or 6). I had constant re-occuring dreams of Jack chasing me in the snow. Horrid dreams really.

I watched American Werewolf in London with my dad on Halloween when I was 8 or 9. Scared me shitless lol.

Wow clowns freak me out too, but for a different reason. When I was little I saw the movie Poltergeist, and if you recall there is a clown puppet in the movie that comes to life and tries to kill the kids in the movie. To this day clowns still freak me, with their big shoes and fake noses, they are evil incarnate.. I think what makes them so evil is that they are a hidden evil wrapped up in happy faces and funny clothes. John Wayne Gacey was a clown you know.

OMG!!!! I was deathly afraid of that clown puppet too!!!! I had forgotten about that completely *shudders* ...thanks alot LOL ;)

Oh - I also hated the scene where the tree tries to eat that kid...blech

AAAAHHHHHHHH!

Rabid, that was one of the most terrifying scenes. I had a stupid clown doll/thing that my mom would not let me get rid of because it was a "gift". EVERY night, I swore that thing was just smiling at me, biding it's time to pull a poltergehist.

Well...I have a feeling I am much older than most (maybe all =P) of you. I saw IT as an adult...and it scared the shit outta me then. My husband (now ex) turned out the lights after it was over and chased me through the house talking like that damn clown. I swear he almost pushed me to murder that night..lmao As a child I was very afraid of Bigfoot. We had some friends that lived out in the boonies and their farm was surrounded by woods. They had a swing that when you went as high as possible (loved to swing) you would be almost as high as this cliff surrounding one side of their property and I remember thinking that bigfoot could just snatch me right off the swing....lol I quickly got off the swing!

I...never had any. Clowns, they're amusing. Spiders, just bugs. Snakes, I liked catching them.

I'm a bit odd. Morbid/Macarbe things give me a thrill. I saw IT at a very young age, and read the book in 6th grade. I thought it was great!

I've also never had nightmares.

I'm a strage, strange person.

Dogs...I am sooooo scared of dogs. I had a bad experience when I was a child. Uhmm what else? Oh that frackin Jaberwalkie (sp?) from the TV series Alice In Wonder Land. I could never watch the second half of it...

The Ghoulies also. I was so scared that when I went to the bathroom one of those little green bastards was going to come up through the toilet and bite my ass. I wouldn't flush until I was almost out the bathroom door and then I'd run like hell..
