Chrono Cross

I'm sure there's a thread but I just had to share my love for this game. It quite possibly has some of the best music an RPG has out there.

Who else has love for it? Who was your favorite character? I always loved having Leena beat people up with a frying pan...rofl

I had mad love for the game, until it got to the point in the story where the main character's existance makes all of the events of Chrono Trigger pointless. I was really disapointed at that part of the story. But it did have great music and over all was a pretty fun game.

The only other thing that really irked me about Chrono Cross was the fact that out of all the characters you could get.. I think there only existed 1 or 2 Triple techs.

I love this game, though a lot of people simply hate it because it's not Chrono Trigger 2, it's still a sequel to Chrono Trigger, just not the one people wanted.
I love the music, and the characters, even though most are useless and not integral to the story, the story, I love all of it, even the element system, though I wish there were more techs(particularly double and triple) like CT.
I've been replaying it sort of lately, only got to Viper Manor.

I'd say my favorite characters are Draggy and Turnip.

Awesome game. Awesome music. Nuff said.

This game is punishingly hard if you try to do the right thing.

I never try to save Kid.

You mean in the Orphanage or something? My memory of this game is lacking ;;

When she gets poisoned and you have to kill the Hydra.
Bitch is hard ; ;

I never finished it, don't think I even reached the half-way point, but it's been a very long time since I played.

I really hated the constant cap on leveling, because it made half the fights completely worthless and seriously limited my enjoyment of the game. That was why I stopped playing, I just couldn't stand the fighting with no point anymore. That and all light-inate bosses were the biggest dicks in the game.

One of my most favourite games.

Light-inate bosses being a dick? Yeah, thanks a lot Miguel.

But I do love how they took the story from CT, and built something completely new. And I absolutely loved the music.

I loved this game. The music is incredible, I believe claiming the most memory in my iPod of any of my game music.
And there were just way too many characters to choose from to pick a favorite..
Gotta agree with Skaw, Zoah was badass and hilarious to try and emulate his booming voice while reading his lines.
Also, the little shape shifting character.. whose name escapes me. But that character lets you play as Slash (And Ozzy and Flea, I think. I know Slash for sure). Extremely cool.

lol that >.> I liked to do all scenarios in multiple playthroughs. Another awesome thin about this game.

It's been awhile since I played this game, yes the element grid irked me a bit since I like using tecs multiple times, and having to restart due to a failed steal was just dumb... along with most of the characters being nearly useless... I don't remember there being a level cap, and with my memory card gone I can't really play the game again ; ; I did like a few songs: Prisoner of Fate, Life ~ Faraway Promise, Leaving the Body and Omni Dragon God are my favourites. My favourite character was Harle, even though she leaves for the rest of the game somewhat soon after you get her. I had more problems killing a road boss and a robot guard in the Dead Sea than Hydra...

The level cap was that the only way to level was bosses. Each boss raised your lvl by 1, but you couldn't level off normal monsters.

Yeah, just stat gains from normal enemies, but they stopped after a few.
Bosses gave Star levels which gave big stat increases and for summons, though I didn't use those much, except for finishing off enemies for Shiny synthesis materials used in making prism equipment.

The level cap started off making things annoying and difficult for me, but after bringing down my third dragon, something clicked, and I had no problem getting through the rest of the game. Subsequent boss battles seemed too easy.

I'm weighing between replaying this or FFVII. I never finished Chrono Cross and I want to get all the characters, but lately I've been working on getting gold chocobos/rare items on the PS1 FFs.
Think I'll do a playthrough of CC then put that aside until I finish FFVII.
