Ciaraleone

Overall, I appreciate the warning since I'm leveling my BLU to avoid a crappy player.

BLUs don't get the luxury of avoiding crappy players often.

Refer to all my Vent arguments w/Mishli back when we were in AP why other specialty jobs filled the slots BLU could.

OP, yeah. Person's a tard.

Corsair can be played many different ways, it's all around party dynamics and the setup.

This one just seems terribly geared, with a terrible attitude and even more terrible priorities in terms of spending their Gil.

Chrono, I agree with Limecat.

Handouts are bad, you won't make your Gil back.

FFXIAH history shows they've had/have the type of Gil to throw down on something as petty as a corsage.

Your charity is better spent texting 90999 for Haiti. ;O

Why are people thinking I am giving out hand-outs, I'm not going to do that anymore, I only offered as a suggestion as her way of working for the gil in a better way than farming. I doubt she bought gil, if that's what you are all thinking. She said that she would be scared of her account being banned from buying gil. I bet she got some gil from someone though if there isn't nothing on FFXIAH that she sold worth a lot of gil.

The thing is Chrono, whining about not having gil doesn't get sympathy out of alot of people.
The kinds of a reaction you probably would get are:
"So?" if you are a sarcastic/uncaring/asshole
OR
"Oh you poor thing! Here's something for you" if you wear your heart on a sleeve/are really nice/naive.

Giving them gil is like training a dog to do tricks...or lack thereof.
The instant that you give gil, they'll know that all they have to do is whine, pull a few heartstrings and voila!
Why farm when all they have to do is just that? Way easier, right?

The reason why people thought you gave handouts was because of one of your responses.
Granted, you may have done so in the past. The fact that you said "not going to do that anymore" implies just that.
I admit, I've done that but only to people I seriously trust and I did not expect any of that back.
They were great enough to actually give the gil back with a tad bit of interest even.

Teach her some lucrative bcnms or ksnms or some good places or ways to make gil.
If she whines again, tell her to go farm.
If she makes a bad purchase, tell her so.
You can always question how she got the gil but she'll find another person as long as she knows how to use her words to make a guy "sympathetic" to her.

All this ta;l of farming/earning gil makes me think of a newby I saw standin in front of AH long ago. He still had the ? of shame over his head, and probably didn't realize (or didn't care) that his /say could be heard by everyone around him.

"Jeez, everything's so expensive," he said.

I'm thinkin, "Great . . . here it comes. He's about to ask for gil . . . " when he surprises me by asking the magic question:

"How do I make money?"

So I took him under my wing, showed him the NPC shops around town, then handed him a stack of dark crystals and a stack of windy tea leaves and explained that each town had certain guilds - Sandy's were woodworking, smithing, and leathercraft. I explained that with Signet on, he'd soon be able to kill decent challenge funguars for his own dark crystals, and he'd be able to synth one of the Leather guild's staple items: sheep leather. I let him know that any time he needed more tea leaves, just to send me a /tell, befriended him, and went on my merry way.

Every few days, I'd hear from him. Every time, his tea leaf orders were bigger. I ran across him leveliing in the dunes, wearing a pair of bounding boots and pretty much as well-geared as a person can be in the dunes. Gave him a pearl to our LS, and to the best of my knowledge Tonicfly, never asked nobody for nothin other than help killing something.

I miss that guy.

Huh. I wonder if it's the same Tonicfly that recently joined iiZerg...

tonicfly was a good guy back in the day. Used to tease him a bit but he was a good spirited guy... If it is him that joined Iizerg then he deserves the acceptance. Raes please tell him that I said congrats.

I know very well what you're saying Rae, and I already understand the concept of beggars always coming back for more once you give them gil. I got quite a lot of gil on me, but I don't give gil out to people. When I used to give gil away, it was to close friends ingame, and some paid back, and other times I gave gil out was when I quit FF for a while I gave some gil out (not all) since I wasn't even sure if I was coming back.

I also gave out small amounts to newbies, maybe 1-5k, just to start out, then I teach them how to make some gil themselves, but I don't give out anymore than that.

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's a different Tonic. He and I were pretty tight back in the day. If he was still playin, I'm sure I'd have heard from him by now. If the name's Tonicfly, it's the same character, no doubt, but my guess is that it's someone else's hands now.

Maybe she needs to get a load of this haha

I do of course have some sexist theories about woman and video games but I know that if I post em bitches will yell at me.

hmmmm

Sync'ed in Ronfaure as 36, she used Protectra once, I thought it was just a mistake. I didn't say anything. Then when it wore, she threw up another Protectra.

[10:44:21]Ciaraleone casts Protectra.
[10:44:23]Bluefrost gains the effect of Protect.
[10:44:27](Bluefrost) do you have protectra2?

[10:46:35](Bluefrost) sorry, i can't stay in the party

Her reasoning for the DRG losing her food effects:

Also, she let two people die only casting Regen on them in critical HP.

lol, priceless. iirc Protectra II is freaking dirt cheap.

What a waste of space.

cool. sounds like urat.

She was mentioning about protectra II today. She can afford it, I don't understand why she didn't get it earlier. Then she asked LS to buy and deliver it to her pty and she would pay them 10k - the scroll is worth 7k in Jeuno. Half the time I see her in the game she always saying how bored she is. During that time of boredom, she can run around and pick up all the necessary items she needs for future ptys.

I'm surprised this is up already though, it only happened like 2 hrs ago >.>
