Ciaraleone

Members of QCDN are fast man. We be on drama like white on rice!

She was mentioning about protectra II today. She can afford it, I don't understand why she didn't get it earlier. Then she asked LS to buy and deliver it to her pty and she would pay them 10k - the scroll is worth 7k in Jeuno. Half the time I see her in the game she always saying how bored she is. During that time of boredom, she can run around and pick up all the necessary items she needs for future ptys.

I'm surprised this is up already though, it only happened like 2 hrs ago >.>

This is Quetzalcoatl, baby. We (excluding me, since I'm not on the server anymore) work fast lol

There's a common thread with people like this. Usually they're not worth shit.

I can understand that if you're in a really great party, and you're missing a few spells because you're far from town and don't want to go back. But she was 10 levels above the spell she needed, plus I'm sure she's been in Jeuno since.

I was not going to post this had there not been a thread on it. Usually when you see people talking shit about you, you either defend yourself or clean up your act. I can see she's done neither. I initially gave her the benefit of the doubt. I posted that about 10 minutes after I left the party.

I don't spend millions of gil on gear for my jobs to party with someone who is too lazy to get a simple scroll of Protect. When Erase was 500k, I stopped partying to farm to buy it, and I was only two levels late getting it.

I must not understand social shells these days. If someone like that was in my linkshell, I'd be embarrassed to be seen with them. Like has been said before in this thread, not knowing is one thing, but being lazy and a shitty player despite people's attempts to help/advise is just a spit in the face of people who want to do well. One bad apple, etc etc.

Yes, I do agree she is often noobish without buying her scrolls and what not, but she has a good heart and makes a fantastic friend. Social shells specifically just to socialize and chat, whether you are noobish or a pro-player. Some shells like to go beyond socializing and do events and such. Whether you want to include that person in the shell in your event or pty or anything, then that's your choice.

Just because there is one bad apple in a linkshell, doesn't mean the entire shell or friends of that person are horrible players/people.

There is one thing I don't understand. Why did the leader invite Cia in the first place without questioning her /seacom?

When I logged on this morning, I usually check the LS list to see who's on, and noticed Cia actually warned people in her LS that she lacked some spells before they invited her.
I know she should've gotten her spells, but why didn't the leader read this before inviting her and either tell her she needs the spells before coming, or at least ask which spells she was missing and decide if it was necessary or not for the pty. I kind of see some fault for the pty leader of this, not only of Cia.

We didn't all start out as experts player either. Some take more time to learn more than others, and some make mistakes. Let's just hope she picks up this spell though (which I'm sure she will.)

In all these years, you'd think QCDN taught everyone ONE thing.

The FRIEND DEFENSE.

It doesn't work.

Yes, we all make mistakes chrono, but she's taken the cake and stuffed her face with it. She's been given advice on how to better herself, and yet she doesnt. You ask why she gets invited? Maybe out of desperation? There aren't that many people out there to make an exp PT, so you sometimes take what you can get. This doesn't mean, however, that you can gimp yourself all you want just because youre a desireable job. Putting up your flag for an exp PT means you have taken it upon yourself to do your part as the job you are playing, and not be a burden to others. Putting it in your /seacom that you're gimp doesn't absolve you of it chrono, nor does it put any fault on the leader for inviting the gimp out of desperation to keep a PT going. Quit tryin to shift the blame or she will never learn her fuckin lesson.

We've already learned she's never going to step up her game. She's been flamed on /three/ separate incidents inside of this single flame. She's aware of it. She had a bragging bazaar comment up at one point that she was being flamed. I almost feel bad for Chrono because he keeps going to bat for her. She was plenty nice in my party before shit hit the fan, but once it did, she took a holier-than-thou attitude. When a lsmate of mine said he wouldn't party with her because she was a known stuck-up expletive, she threw a whole bunch of tells using words I don't think she understands and needed a thesaurus to figure out. She reeks of pompous teenager, and the more these things keep popping up, the more validated everyone is for just writing her off and ignoring her.

Keep trying to defend her, Chrono, but I don't think a single person reading this is going to swayed to the side of an obviously-poor player.

Last I checked, you can be a pretty good person at heart and a good player at the same time. I feel that I'm a pretty nice person and that I was a pro-player (Hexx, where the FUCK is my coffee?) I mean, you don't even have to be a pro-player to be a fairly decent player. Just have your shit ready either ahead of time, or get it when you hit that level. It's really not that hard. The difference between "pro" player and just a decent player is that a "pro" player will try to maximize their gear as best as they can and make sure they have what they need. A decent player just has what they need and get other stuff later on if they can.

Ciaraleone is just being ignorant and if they just want to play the game to be a good person at heart, they need to find a different game or add everyone in that LS to MSN and chat it up there.

Almost a year ago now, she was invited to our shell, DEICIDE, by a member who wanted to take her under his wing. Based ONLY on the fact that she's a German player as is the friend who invited her. Before someone took her to the past, she used to haunt Qufim Island creating fail parties there. The one that got her tossed from our shell was WHM, WHM, SMN, BLM, DNC and THF. We told her that just wouldn't cut it. Like already mentioned, she got the know-it-all attitude and became really hostile, cussing people out who tried to help her, ending with her being removed from the shell. That doesn't exactly scream 'she has a good heart and makes a fantastic friend'.
Our German member has since learned that Cia is a waste of space. She was removed from our shell in less than a weeks time. Chihgo, our German friend, recently joined an exp party with her WHM, desperate for exp on his level 30-something ranger. 'All she has to do is Cure, how bad can it be?' he asks me.. I tell him to remember to get FoV reraise. After the party, he sent me a screen shot and asked me to post his thoughts, since he's new to QCDN and can't post in the Flame section till he's logged 10 posts.

Keep in mind, he's learned 90% of his English from FFXI and excuse the grammar. His message follows:

Was pting with Ciaraleone as WHM/BLM in Yhoator-Jungle.
Pt was estimated a catastrophy, shitty camp, very slow kills and Ciaraleone did a lot of mage mistakes.
Instead that she heals the Redmage on Dream flower which was in our pt, too. She did a Curega, wasted a lot of MP with it.
Next thing, was that she ran out of MP, a few seconds later, suddenly she gained a lot of MP again and wasted it with a Cureaga at the end.
I was pulling to keep the exp to get some "chains" (which was really slow for this time --> 2.4k in a hr) and suddenly I got a "no pull"
Instead of helping me with healing, I only got the advice "You'll die" WTF is that a WHM... ?
please don't pt with her as a WHM, you will die for sure!
Cia didn't ever reply, how many MP she has. And every mage that to be secure!
You can't concentrade to pull on a shitty camp and look at MP, too. Or you will risk a lot of downtimes and low rates on exp which was
the main thing on this pt!

Sitting on 222MP of what appears to be close to 300, and saying "you'll die" is completely and irrevocably unacceptable. I don't care who you are. If you're sitting on almost full MP, and you think your party is going to die, you're not doing your job as a White Mage.

I was not in any way an excellent player. I would barely give myself decent. But I know for a fact on RDM as main with no more than a quarter mp I could keep my parties alive. I can't remember how many times I was on the edge of my seat nervous about the amount of mp I had but I still managed.. I managed my job plain and simple.

Once I helped a merit party too, only once as I myself never broke 70. As intense as that was with non-stop pulls/action no one died, and I got highly complimented that day that I was one of the better RDM those peeps had merited with.

Could have been complete BS but all in all, my parties riding on little mp would not start dieing off.

In the back of my mind I figured it was like this, the party memebers should know their jobs and more than likely know the capabilities of a typical mage healer so why should I worry if they don't.

She cannot take constructive criticism which is a major flaw in trying to be a good player.
I'm not saying everyone has to be a "pro" kind but I do expect that you know how to do your friggin job.
Know how the hate is shifting, keep tabs on status ailments if there are any, put shadows up if they are down, etc.
If you recieve some criticism, then thats a good thing. Granted, if they are warranted.
The minute you start being defensive is when people will poke at you even more.
She needs to actually listen and rethink how her playing affects not only herself but her party as well.
However, it seems whoever is against her is "wrong and stupid" and she "doesn't need to listen to what others say, nor change her playing style."

Playing for fun is nice and all but if it was only just for fun for everyone, we wouldn't have a Flameboard in the first place.
If you suck, people will make note of it and probably will try to avoid you in the future.
If you are good, people will make note of it and will probably try to join up party-wise or event-wise.
As much as it would be nice for everyone to be playing solely for fun, people do have objectives they want to fulfill.
If you stand in their way of their goal, you can bet that they will label you as a bad player and will tell EVERYONE that they know how bad they are.
I'm not an exception. I will criticise, I will tell people how bad of a player you are if you stand in my way.
So go ahead, stay being yourself, Ciara. You will see how that attitude of yours is harming you more than it is helpful.

this is the first flame in a long time where im going to actively avoid this person.... holy shit.... a flame that has value....

Actually, you guys are right about her.. I'm through with defending her. I tried to find some good in her and gave her the benefit of doubt, but after all these posts on her that I've read and even experiencing a few things myself.. I have some extra tidbit of things I can say about her too...

For starters, not that many may care about this one particular LS, but Kumarr's old LS, Manbearpigg, was filled with drama, which caused him to break the pearl. People there like Quorinth caused this drama, according to everyone else there, and I have reason now to believe that Ciaraleone also caused some of this drama too. She would whine a lot about things, and Kumarr had her as sack holder before, and she would kick people from the shell if they ever got on her bad side.

Also, she would /blist anyone who ticks her off in the slightest bit, only to unblist them not too long afterwards. If that isn't childish/teenager behaviour, then I don't know what else you want to call it.

The other day, right before I got my SMN to 75, I was ptying with her and some other LS members in the mire against imps, and we did not have a proper tank, but her and another sam, along with a blu were our DDs, on top of me as smn, a whm and a brd. (Cia made the pty setup). We tried it out with this setup, but the exp was really slow, and we were synced at lvl 70. Cia took hate, never put up seigan, and would lose a lot of hp, which caused the whm to cure her a lot, placing the hate on this whm, and making quite a lot of downtime.

Fortunately for us, Cia d/ced in mid pty, and she didn't return, so we invited another sam, and with this new sam, the exp came rolling in a little faster.

There is also one more thing I like to add, and this just happened the other day. I forget how the topic came up, but in our LS, we were discussing about RMT and myself and some others in the shell agreed that RMT break and destroy this game. Cia, on the otherhand, were defending them in her own little way. She was saying how it wasn't immoral for theft to be done and for RMT to sell gil to players willing to pay up. She even said that she would buy gil herself at one time before, but she is too afraid of being caught from SE and having her account banned.

So there is some of my bit of info on her and my flame. I really hope she picks up her act.

Only thing that would really finish off this flame for me would be a screenie of her pearl being broken, but I'm not the northern-most point on the moral compass, so take that as you will.

Thank you for the info, a friend of mine had a pearl to Manbearpig LS and was wondering why it was broken when he signed on Monday when it was fine sunday night when he logged. A shame despite the darma he never noticed any really and enjoyed many of the people there.

Sadly Manbearpig doesn't make me think of the episode of South Park with Al Gore in it anymore. Pandetech and his annoying cousin is usually what comes to mind.
