They've already said it's NOT Cthulhu, it's a brand new monster, as the rumours were it was Cthulhu or a Voltron film, to which Abrahms straight up said 'NOES!'
 
In the commercials you can barely make out the monster. I think its the same pic in this thread. Looks more Godzilla-eque to me than a whale monster.

hehe, honestly.. at first I thought this was a movie that was War of the Worlds kinda thing with a blair witch retarded feel :P but just some monster like Godzilla now with Blair Witch feel? Bleh.. we'll see if it's good hmm (honestly, I'm not a big fan of that kinda camera use for a movie).

In two trailers someone says "it's alive".
First one was "I saw it! It's alive and IT'S HUEG!"
In another one, it was "Robbie, it's alive-"
Why are they so shocked that something's alive? Is it not supposed to be alive?

Along with that, one of the main characters mentioned on his "myspace" that he got a job with Slusho in japan, and will be flying there next week.

Well, it's not a Godzilla movie. If it was he wouldn't attack a Oil Rig. Unless they gay it up somehow and we have RoboGodzilla.
 
I honestly can't remember a recent horror movie that actually owned up to the hype it produced pre-release. Cloverfield may just be another rental movie on my Netflix list after it gets put on dvd a month after it being taken out of theatres.
