I'm sick of the lack of common courtesy anymore. I honestly wonder if the median age for this game is 12. A problem arises? Yell at that mother-f@#(*&! Lets insult him and sling mud all over his name! HAHA I'll tell all my friends and no one will ever like you nyah nyah!
Sigh...
Example Problem: Leveling on weapons in sauromogue at 30. A thf comes along and starts killing them while LFG. Not enough are popping for my party to chain. Puller goes crazy and starts cussing him out in /party. Other players agree and there is general resentment.
Solution: Me being the party leader, I told them to let me handle it. I sent the thf a tell explaining that we were exping here and asking him not to drive us out. His response? "Sure, sorry I didn't know."
Now if I told him "Hey dickwad, gtf off our mobs we are exp'ing here!" Like my party's general feeling was, would he have moved? No. I sure as fuck wouldn't move if someone told me that either. A little common courtesy solved the problem.
I'm Sick of seeing people screaming at each other and fighting like 5 year olds. People I KNOW are 19-25 years old argueing like little kids. Time out, chill, not everyone is out to get you. Give people the benifit of the doubt. Try courtesy. You'd be surprised at the results.
Now if the thf had told me "fuck you i'm killing all your mobs." after I asked him, sure he's an asshole and deserves to be shot down. But I've seen so many times no one giving the other guy a chance to explain himself. And accusing before asking is only going to put them on the defensive and more likely to lash back.
Example problem: Crawler's nest party, 2 groups in the 'secret tunnel'. We open the cermet door and sure enough theres a group there too. Before the whm even catches up (he was sneaking the others) the resident party demands we leave. Not asks, not inquires. /say Get the hell out we are exping here. I dont even get the chance to type /say just waiting for the whm to catch up, yeah its too full. He starts spamming "Get the hell out." like 16 lines of spam. We almost camped on top of them out of spite.
No Solution.
Both these things really happened in game to me in 2 different parties. I just think some of our flameboard readers might want to think about which choice they make most often. A little common courtesy makes everyone's gameplay more enjoyable.
