Confusing DMG mods~ And back to the Osode debate.

Ok... I recently talked to some NINs about WS in Osode or Hauby. A lot seem to think Hauby is better and when a few guys [notably Blazeoffury and Evanos] Explained it to me it seemed to makes sense why hauby worked better than Osode.
Then I started to think.
Don't WARs weapon skill in N.body? For Rampage at least?
So hauby is better for Blade: Jin but not for Rampage? Well in that case wouldn't Kosode be better than hauby for rampage?

OR! Do not all WARs WS in N.body, I know some do because I have seen it.

these are questions so don't think I'm stating fact, this has been confusing me lately and I would like some insight.

From WAR PoV, Acc is of significant importance on Rampage/Raging rush so is STR. I think Gaining 7 STR makes losing 5 DEX and 10 attk worth it by far.

Cant really compare Osode to N.Body because of the lack of ACC on osode.
 
but Rampage is 50%STR and DEX or is it 30..?

point being its STR and DEX, so in theory shouldnt it benifet from DEX+ and STR+

This seems to contridict itself. Blade: Jin in Hauby but Not for Rampage >_>
 
yea I have been there, Ok My bad, no DEX mod, but you can't argue that DEX is great for Rampage since it increases Crit+ ACC.. I was confused tho. I was thinking that it had a Dex Mod.

N.Body is 12 STR 10 ACC
Osode is 10 STR
Hauberk is 5 STR 5 DEX 10 ACC 10 ATTK


Adaman Hauberk>N.body>Hauberk>osode For WS.
 
Situational. If your acc is 85%+, you most likely could swap in Osode instead of Hauby for Rampage and maintain a steady average return. Some WARs won't swap Hauby for anything.

Personally, if my acc is high, I'd be inclined to keep my swaps the same (Hauby) and switch to meat.
 
I would say it's a toss up between NQ Hauby and Nbody for Rampage. But is the Nbody worth the 700k or however much it costs now, the inventory room and the extra line in your macro when Hauby is just as good? And like others have said Osode isn't worth the loss in accuracy.

well nins were mentioned I do believe this was mostly focusing on wars and rampage, but ya hauby+1 is awsome on nins.
 
Don't forget Warrior's have Aggressor. Nin's don't have anything of the sort. Missing a Jin hit cuts damage harshly. That's why I'll never WS in anything outside of Hauby when it counts.
 
Blade: Jin is 30% DEX 30% STR

K.Osode 10 STR 10 DEX
Haubergeon+1 6 STR 6 DEX +12 ATT +12 ACC

I would say, it depends what you are using in your other slots. If you are using let's say, Optical Hat and Life Belt/Potent Belt (for unknown reasons. WHY!) to WS in for Blade: Jin, perhaps K.Osode would be better off. If you are using Shura Kabuto or Voyager's Sallet and Warwolf Belt (that most Ninja use), you'd be better off with Haubergeon or Haubergeon+1. There's no point to stack STR and DEX if you're going to miss all your hits. It needs to balance with your other gear.

I prefer using Haubergeon+1 because it gives more constant damage and many times high WS damage. I did use K.Osode for a while, but it gave lower averages and sometimes spike damage that was high, but rarely. The TP return most of the time for K.Osode was less because I missed a hit in the 3-hit-WS. I have 8/8 Katana, 3DEX and 2STR merits though, so that probably also affected my setup.

It's all situational in my opinion. You *could* get two Ninja with similar gear setups/merits and parse it for a more accurate answer though.
 
I don't see why you'd WS in anything besides potent belt, tbh.

I normally strip my NIN of everything but life belt for the most accuracy possible, my DMG is through the roof!
 
Basically it come down to the amount of acc/dex you can wear. War get more of it in other slots, due to heca pieces and aggressor. Heca>osode except for Steal cyclone due to the vit mod. If you don't have heca you most likely ws in hauby.

Well It was a focus on both. It got lead more towards Rampage, but I was more questioning what is undoubtedly the best armour to WS in for Jin^^
