If it was an issue with their servers, where
everyones connection passes through,
everyone would be having the issues. But they aren't. The problem lies with one(or more) of the numerous gateways your connection gets routed through to get to their servers. End of story.
If someone want to whine about SE not fixing that, they should also whine to firefighters for not stopping criminals. Because you'd be displaying the same kind of idiocy in both cases.
I know my net went out. Thats why I said it. I was stating that regardless of being on cable, everything is fine for me with FFXI
except when my cable hiccupped.
Also, the problem seems to be getting fixed. Almost miraculously, since SE hasn't done anything to fix it. If it was an issue with them, and they
were the ones fixing it, the servers would have come down for a few moments here and there.
Like I said, it's entirely a coincidence that it's happening, and people need to quit crying to SE to fix a sprinkle of issues over the vastness of the internet for them.
If people are still oblivious as to how this problem can (and most likely is) not a problem on Square-Enix/PlayOnline's end:

It even comes with nice animated pictures if you don't feel like reading.
