there are a lot of crazy people in this game. when i was level 27 i really had a money problem. and i had bad armor. and i get told im a fuckin noob and to quit the game.

General rule of thumb is "Don't level until you can afford to." Good luck with future in game endevours.

Good journeys.

It doesn't serve to benefit anybody to berate them. But this aside, the person was right in, at least in principal.

What armor/weapons did you have? You really MUST keep up with armor, weapons, etc. A lot of people hate it. But let me assure you that gil doesn't rain from the sky for the rest of us either.

The mnk is probably one of the less expensive jobs to level. At lvl 27 you should own a full outfit of Beetle Armor (I can't remember what level that kicks in because I'm not looking at it right now, but I think it's around lvl 24) and Lynx Baghnakhs (which I know are lvl 24 - you'll love 'em. Respectable damage, but REALLY AWESOME delay time - delay is a mere 30. I can't think of any other weapons that have such a low delay.

None of this stuff is particular expensive (not any more than other armor and weapons at that level - it's not like we're telling you to go buy a pair of leaping boots at 250k).

Speaking of leaping boots, don't just write-off the idea of ever buying bonused items. Bonused items are expensive, but it's nice if everyone who's serious about a job tries to manage to afford at least ONE item that gives their job a nice little bonus advantage. I've played in parties where everyone has an advanced job and wow is it ever nice to see how you can tear through IT mobs and the mages hardly have to spend any MP because the players bonuses are boosting enough skills that the monsters just die so much faster and/or the party can evade so much better, etc. The XP flows like water and it's all because these guys realize that INVESTING (not just spending) the money on the *right* items for that particular job is worth it. Look at it this way: armor and weapons hold their value. So you might be sinking a lot of gil into it, but you're gonna get that gil back out again when you outgrow the armor and upgrade.

I went through four different ways to earn gil before I finally found one that I both like and has income potential. They're all a drain at low levels because doing craft skillups consumes resources and crystals which you either have to farm yourself (which takes forever) *or* you have to buy (and of course if you had the money to buy it you wouldn't be taking up the craft to earn gil). So the process is slow, sometimes agonizing, but if you stick to it you will *eventually* make progress. Being "rich" doesn't need to be a goal. I have more fun questing and xp'ing than I do earning gil - I only do the gil-earning stuff because I have to.

At lvl 27 you still have it pretty easy. Once Kazham runs dry for you (which will happen around lvl 31), there's really no "new" place to go get invites. You will find that, if you establish a good reputation, get a good LS, get in people's "friendslist", achieve high ranks, learn your job WELL, and keep your armor/skills/weapons up-to-date, that people will WANT YOU in their parties. They will seek you out from clear across Vanadiel EVEN when you are not looking for a party. But if you fail to do those things, the invites will run dry and you'll have a very hard time picking up a party again.

He posts a call for help about farming on the flameboard, and then a flame on the general discussion.

YOU GET INVITES BECAUSE YOU ARE A PLD, NOT BECUASE YOU HAVE A REPUTATION AS A GOOD PLAYER.

Or maybe we are the only two in such desperate need for friends and a real life that no one else had time to notice.

Seriously, this is not a flame so please listen to what I have to say. It's possible that you are getting invites because of your JOB and not because of you. A tank can sometimes be harder to find at mid levels (35-50) than a Whm was in the Dunes. While this will get you by for a while, bear in mind that parties will become more and more scarce as you get up in levels. If a party needs a tank and there are two seeking and someone remembers you negatively, you will be passed up. Again at higher levels, parties are more scarce so being passed up could mean another few hours of waiting.

Kert, I don't hate you because anyone told me to- in fact, I can't even say that I hate you period, seeing how I don't know you outside of the one time I met you in game.

However, having said that, I find your attitude to be intolerable. You seem to have little or no regard for how your actions affect others in their enjoyment of the game. Even if you were the best tank to ever grace our server, wearing 20 bajillion gil worth of equipment, I still wouldn't party with you, because your attitude and manner of speaking leeches all the fun out of the game experience.

You're riding high now, where tanks are in high demand, as much or moreso than white mages. In the levels to come, however, you will need friendly people in game to help you with a LOT of very important things- rank missions, Genkai, AF, etc. If your attitude doesn't improve, then I suggest you definitely need to brush up your farming skills, because you'll probably need to pay a lot of desperate lvl 70+ players a mess of gil to enlist their help.

I wish Genkai I was the doom of more and more players... yet they seems to pass it somehow.

Actually, every god-awful player I know passed Genkai I without too much hassle and is still breezing though the levels as we speak, while the one player who I considered one of my best in-game friends and one of the most generally helpful people I'd met, quit at 50 because of it. (A bard no less)

There is no justice in Vana'diel :(

i have a good additude wen i play...it was just i had an arguement with him and it turned out quite bad...i have many people on my friend list... i met a lot of cool people on the game and had good parties... Busso, TheBride, WhiteKitten, Vinu, etc. are some ppl on my friend list...

and i didnt mean it wen i said u 2 had no life...i was just saying it bc i was mad..and bc u were taking the game OVER seriously...but w/e i dont really care anymore..i deserved it bc i was an asshole to u...but usually i dont do that

and yes i know i get lots of invites because im a PLD but i dont think im that bad..most of my parties do good...only a few hant worked out
