I was recently exp'ing in the Crawler's Nest, when a fellow by the name of Tek decided to start shouting for a D2. Normally, something like this would not bother me at all, but he was very persistent, and after about 5mins of him shouting, "D2 (Can I Have It?), I decided to shout back, "D2(No Thanks) Walk (Yes, Please)".
He responded to this by calling me a noob, and telling me to STFU. I may be new, been playing since November '06, but in that time I have achieved 1 75, and a few 40 jobs, along with rank8, so I like to classify myself out of the noob status. A fellow player in the zone began explaining to him that I was not a noob, and that I was doing everyone a favor by trying to get him to shut up and just walk. He then began to get very immature, cussing at everyone and telling them to mind their own business. Soon the entire zone got very hostile towards him, letting him know that being the asshole he was was not going to get him anywhere. We tried to explain to him we all had business in there, and just wanted to take care of it in peace. He wouldnt allow this however, and picked a fight with the zone for a good 15 minutes, all the while STILL asking for a D2.
To make a long story short, don't shout for a D2, certainly when you are not willing to offer a fucking reward. He could have done a /tell to blm in the zone asking for his damn D2, and spared the entire zone all of his grief. And another thing, with all the time that he was shouting and arguing, he could have walked to Jueno 6 fucking times. Some ppl are out there only to start shit with others. What ever happened to courteousy with other players???? That must be a part of the past.

They should put in a system that targets certain players words from being seen on your screen, that would really help out in this situation.
 
there is a filter to make it so you dont see any shouts, but that is besides the point. my whole point is that ppl too often are trying to mooch off of other players for tele's/ warps, or even help with quests without offering any type of reward. that was the basis of the arguement last night, that we could not get him to understand, and it just blew up into a shout fest of pissed off ppl at this guy

I've heard of a system like that, it's some kind of ignore function. Some fancy high end MMOs have them. Shame we get zip.
 
whats more annoying, not because of the /sh, but because of the players stupidity, is when theyre in a city and they shout for a D2. How hard is it to:

a) Change jobs and blood warp
b) if you cant do a) because your jobs are leveled, then switch to BLM and warp
c) if you for some reason have BLM leveled and dont have warp, get a damn warp scroll from the conquest gaurds, heaven knows you should be able to get one if you have all your jobs leveled
d) if for some reason you cant get a warp scroll, then get a cudgel off of the AH

Yeah, if no-one comes to your rescue and responds to your plead for a D2 the first time you shout it, I highly doubt spamming it will do anything other than annoy the fuck outta the people in the zone.

I've been a BLM for years, and sending a /tell to a BLM who is in the same zone as you isn't much better. Sure, no-one sees begging in shouts, but still... People usually aren't just "passing by." BLMs have places to be, parties to attend, mobs to nuke, etc. Dropping all that shit to hunt down some bitch-ass to D2 them is OUT OF THE QUESTION!!!

sending a /tell would be ok. Just going to go find them isn't. I would tell them to go to <pos> and wait until, if i was in a pt, to wait until I wasn't busy. If they don't want to wait for the D2. Its their problem and not mine. I'm the one with it :P

course they don't.. when I am in areas like Jeuno I just get the Warp Scroll from conquest and do that. Or the other ways that are stated above.

Then in areas before i even think of doing shouts for a raise, D2. I send a /tell to the person that can only answer that question (whm, blm, rdm and some others depending on their sub.

If I offer them a reward and they say no. I say Thank you and I'm off to ask somebody else. If nothing happens then I just act like a man and run it.. or if you are smart have your chocobo whistle on you.

Wow first of all the OP doesn't understand sarcasm.

2nd of all this was Tec's brother does no one not care?

To Luffy: I have asked for d2's before because I forgot my cudgel at my mog. I have offered to pay BLMs before, but I have gotten "Don't worry about I am not a greedy black mage" twice. Some of them took the gil, and d2'd me.
