You are just addicted to the last word, aren't you?
Guilty. An admitted character flaw of mine.
You realize that you're trolling again, right? Trying to reignite the same argument all over again?
This time? Yes.
I've said this before, a thousand times, and I've no difficulty saying it again; community standards are defined by the community, and what is acceptable behavior on one issue may well not be acceptable behavior on another, regardless of any tenuous connection between the two.
Here's where I continue the argument that I had planned to drop, as it admittedly should not have been brought up in this thread. But it's here now, so here we go.
First of all, you are correct. Standards are defined by the community. And the ONE THING that most all of the people on these boards just REFUSE TO FUCKING ACCEPT, is that Quetz as a server is now comprised of TWO PREVIOUSLY DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES. The server merge was fucking FOUR MONTHS ago, so I think it's high time you guys start to accept this. Behavior that was considered perfectly acceptable in one community, was not considered acceptable on the other. Given the circumstances, the amount of compromise these boards saw from the members of the incoming community is an impressive
testament to that community.
I can tell you, as a previous member of the "other" community, that myself and all the other "outsider" people that have tried their damnedest to use and abide by the system that was in place on these boards are getting really fucking tired of hearing people like you constantly blaming "us" for its inevitable downfall. You tout your system as completely infallible, while refusing to accept that maybe, just maybe, it's downfall is that (like any other system of compromise) it dimply DOES NOT HOLD UP when there's
actual COMPETITION involved. You know what causes a LOT of competition? Doubling the number of people on a server. The recent and impending SE changes are just going to add more. You and people like you can sit there and continue to QQ over the loss of a good thing, and blame "those pesky Midgarders" all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that I was trying to point out by my initial statement....
Any system that invites or encourages direct competition between people cannot be continually constrained as that competition increases. At some point, the competition is going to be so strong, that it becomes
impossible to fairly organize that system.
Farming and exp parties may be a different animal, but that's only because they are already to the point of competition where the concept of trying to organize and maintain a system to fairly distribute them would be ludicrous. HNMs have been FAR past that point for years, hence why there's no QCDN system for who gets to claim the next Fafnir.
Dynamis is going that way too, and blaming your new (or no longer very new) server occupants isn't fair, or even logical anymore, yet people continue to do it.
The double-standards I've witnessed on these boards since joining have been laughable. People like the OP ripped apart for seeking fairness and a mindset of "sharing" that which is not easily shared, by the SAME people that expect (no... DEMAND) that everyone play fair when it comes to their precious Dynamis schedule.
