damm u god damm fucking gill sellers to hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem I think isn't how much gil you have, how many items you buy, or even if you sell gil or not. But in how much thier willing to spend per item. When people pay outlandish prices for items because they have no patience to wait for the price to come down, prices go up.

The trick to having a great economy is to have Smart Shoppers. But then SE can't do anything about that, its all up to us.

We can assume that everyone who works hard for their gil is a smart shopper (barring a few dumb ones).
Last night, my LS buddy put his Enfeebling Earring on AH for ONE million, and someone just bidded TWO million on their first try.

And the amount of gil you have -does- affect the price you're willing to pay for an item.

well.... IMO not if your smart. Smart shopper to me means you know what something is worth and will not pay much more than that amount.

As far as amount of gil being a factor, I know alot of people who have alot of gil and they don't buy gil, they make it by crafting or HNM hunting.
Actually the richest people i know make it this way. as-far-as-i-know-anyway. If we are going to say amount of gil is a factor then it is a problem we cannot fix. Because all of these guys with all of this legitimate gil will pay handsomely for items that they want, and this is hte truth in reality. If you have the gil and don't want to wait, you will pay it, thereby causing infalation.

The only thing we can fix is to advocate for everyone to be a "smart shopper", this is the ONLY thing we can do to fix the economy as i see it.

This is way SE impossed larger taxes, to let those that want to offer things over priced to eat bigger taxes if no one buys it.

I think the problem is that there is too big of a difference between the rich and poor in this game and the game's means of making gil is kinda pooched right now.

If you were smart and say...invested in a craft when you began, things were a heck of a lot cheaper and it was easier, and profitable to be a crafter. Silk thread was 7k a stack and you didn't lose money on everything you crafted.

Things were reasonalby priced (emp pin for 200-300k) and not everyone was expected to have incredible gear. Good gear was standard, not mind blowing.

Now the economy is pooched. Some people have a lot of gil (legitimatly) and don't flinch at the thought of paying 1 mil for something while others have none. Items like Scorp Harness, Emp Pin, Leaping boots, Astral Rings are expected and people are in a panic to figure out ways to make millions of gil. Methods like crafting are just stupid right now, silk has gone up from 7k a stack to 22k a stack making cloth a money sink, the old method of buying Tree cuttings for cheap, growing them into Saplings and selling them doesn't work because the cuttings cost as much as the saplings now. Crafting is so bad that you usually make more selling the materials rather than making something out of them.

There's too much gil in the community but it's controlled by just a few people. Only way to fix this problem is to make more questable items that you can obtain at the LEVEL YOU NEED TO USE IT and more RA/EX equipment that is comparible in stats to items like the Scorp Harnless/astral earring/Astral rings etc.

A great example of this is some of the spells like Utsu Ichi, Tele-spells, Warp II etc. These are hard quests to do but are do-able at the level required to use the spell. Because they're hard Scrolls like ichi sell for 300k+ but if you're paying that it's just because you're lazy and have enough money to spend on it, if you don't have the gil - do the quest....

Just my thoughts :?

Um...I don't get what you're saying, what goes with the word "not"?

I can't see how this is a response to what I said

I agree with you on this. There is nothing we can do.
However, the point I was going to make in my 1st post is that gilbuying, although not being the sole reason for high prices, does play some part in it.

Well i'm not sure if i wrote my posts here all too good so lemme try again, and hopefully make some sense

I wasn't only writing in response to you seawolf, partly yes but also trying to stay on what i think was the topic which is "why do we have such insane prices"

While i belive there are many reasons for our high prices in game it is my opinion that when all is said and done, the only reason that matters is the reason our prices are high in the first place. And that is that the people who are willing to spend the "15 million" on the items in the first place, are the ones driving up the economy.

It truely (I think) doesn't matter how you got your gil, by stealing, by hardwork, or by buying, Or even how much gil you have be it 999,999,999 gil or 1 gil, simply because if you want it enough, you can get it.

If we all practiced being a "smart shopper" there would be alot lower prices for all of us. Its just that "so many" of you out there are willing to spend this much, that is why things cost so much.

The one thing SE can do to stop this is higher taxes, but thats something none of us wants.

We could also be total assholes and spam people who pay too much lol, thats pretty much what alot of people do for having "gimp" gear, why not do it for fuckin up the economy? I think more people would benefit from a fixed economy than fixing someones with gimp gear, at least you can simply refuse to play with the gimp guy.

Um hope i made some sense, and if i didn't nevermind lol

Now I normally don't do this and I hate people who do but I am just curious.

Shizia first off, you are a level 40 some dark with no other jobs, I notice your gear is very nice yet you are never anywhere but Jeuno? I camp some of the most major NMs and know my away around the guilds and have yet to see you do anything even remotely close to crafting or NM camping to have such a vast amount of gil, as a 40 something dark. Oh, just saw that you bought a Millionaire's desk as well. Wow the gil is like water to you huh? A 40 something, Jeuno bum who I never see anywhere but lower. I'm not accusing you of being something you hate so much though, just curious.....

You told me AND legalus you had a PCC you wanted to sell for 6 or 7 million lol, you lied about that like the dumbfuck you are too.

god, i hope the dont raise it again. was a nice theory, but in practice its not doing anything but making me want to tear my eyes out. all week in jueno all i see are fooking SPAM /shouts of "pcc 15 mil" or "winged boots xxx gil" or some other stupid high priced item being advertised. se's intention was, i believe, to force some kind of incentive to bring prices down. from a sellers viewpoint though, i understand Wanting to sell that stuff for the ah list price if you manage to make/get the drop, but comon, either eat the fucking tax and shut-up, or list for less. on the plus side, having shouts off in jueno helps the lag a bit.

ok first of all i farm silk threads and usually sell in bazzar and second of all i can usually make about 60k-100k a day assuming that the stuff sells fast .
and second of all the millionares desk does not work so fuck that thing.
and no disrespect to you vang but if you think for one second that i tried to sell a pcc then whatever cause u got no proof and i have been told that u people supposedly have proof and refuse to show it.

but that is not the problem. i mean i being level 42 coming close to level 43 is costing me more fucking gill that i have to wait for. and i no diesrespect but the damm peacock charm is not worth 15 million gill.

This was as pleasant to read as scratching a board with my nails......

I have a confession to make... I... bought 1 gil.. I know, it's terrible. I just wanted to tell everyone I'm going to be jumping out of a very tall building to repent for being a *cry* gilbuyer. And of course in the message I leave, I'll blame all my peers in QCDN for forcing me to commit suicide. Have a nice a day.

Heh, I'm just playing. 8) Sometimes I think about it, and realized if I bought gil I would have a lot of nice stuff. I'd buy up the crimson + 1 armor I want so bad, serket ring, pay off for vivian ring help, ect ect. But then I remember how I felt after earning the gil for my astral rings, and figured buying gil would be like buying a game, pushing a button which gives me unlimited health, healing items, mp, ammo, and all the best stuff. Where the hell is the fun in that? I've been more or less poor since NA PC release, and although I've never had the pleasures of the big big things, like vermillion cloak, I've made it by with nice gear and managed to enjoy the game. Yes I farmed for stuff I want, and in the end as time passed I slowly got richer. I have two astral rings which once I couldn't even dream of having, almost a year ago at a much much cheaper price. My point is, it just makes me sad when I see people get all pissed and hyped about NM, who go all hardcore and farm for 3 months, who go waste 400 bucks to buy gil, and then all these people go complain about gil sellers. It's just sad. I have a friend who buys gil, I don't look down upon him for it that much, but the funny thing is, he hates gil sellers! He thinks they raise prices. Ironic lol.

The gilsellers are annoying, but that's about it. You don't need to be making a big deal about them. Like fire said (I've come to see he makes some good points very often) it doesn't effect the price of things much. Hell I'm pissed that Enhancing Blade had the NERVE to jump from 6 mil (already a frikin high price) to 10 mil in one buy. But oh well, life sucks. I'm not going off to blame gil farmers or anything, I'll either make a few attempts at campingt Bune, or make plans to get a different sword, like Joyuese. My 2 gil, anyways,
