Oh, question, in Sen's Fortress leaving the fire bombing giant alive during Iron Golem boss fight, does it get you anything special? Or just a harder fight :P

Edit: can someone explain to me the purpose of getting rank 3 in any covenant? From what I've heard all the gifts are rank 2 at the latest :\

No, nothing special. Not even a harder fight.

You don't get rank 3, that's probably why the confusion. You join (which can be gifted) but during that phase you have no rank. You then can rank up twice within the covenant. Some covenants have rewards for rank 2 so I'm sure that's why all of them have a place for it.
 
everyone says there's a rank 3 :P and all the wikis and such. Oh well, I don't care to bother other thank rank 2 for items.

The wikispace one has a lot of bad information. For some reason they still have it listed that the online level restriction is not governed by a function, but by a simple +/- 10%. Everyone and there mother has proven that wrong, not sure why it hasn't been updated. That right there says enough for me as to the accreditation of its content. The only reason anyone could say that covenants have 3 ranks is if they count joining as rank 1, however the game doesn't recognize it in that way. Maybe there are extra ranks (hidden), but the evidence is against it. For starters, the guide doesn't have any information past +2. Secondly, I've done enough Forest Covenant invasions to have put me well past +2, but I'm stuck at 2. Someone in the official forums was testing the theory that upon rank 2 of the Gravelord Covenant you did indeed get something, a Liche form. He proved that false, but he kept going, thinking maybe it was a hidden rank. He turned in some 80+ Eye's of Death, never passed +2, never got anything for them.

Is it really just 30 of stuff to get to rank 2 in each covenant? Like 30 humanity for chaos or 30 humanty for darkwraiths or whoever and 30 medallions of sun, etc? I have just been farming humanity (helping people) and souls while I get medallions so I can get the items from each covenant before I go on with the game :P

Oh, and the lordvessel, I know you can choose to put it in the place under where Frampt is or give it to the Darkwraiths person (if you don't you can't join em), but does that keep areas closed off? Or wha? I'm kinda not sure what I wanna do yet with that so I still have it while I farm up stuff.

It's 20 or 30, a lot of bad information from every source on this right now, or, at least the last time I looked in to it.

The only thing you loose by not giving it to Frampt is the ability to feed him items, that's it. After you give it to the other goofy giraffe (that's not a serpent I don't care what they call it). If you're tryin' to get all of the items from covenants do not give it to Frampt, it's worthless with him. That said, you do access it from the same location. Just take a leap where Framp is/use to be and you'll make it down safely.
 
So basically go to the abyss first, then go to the place to put it yourself?

I'm not sure how it works but I assume so. I'm farming at the end of my first run, have been for over a week now, and I failed hardcore. My entire goal for my first playthrough was to get that damn Dark Hand, as soon as I got the Lordvessel I went back to Firelink to talk to NPCs, get some spells, all that stuff, and when I went to Frampt to feed him, well, he took my Vessel without even a choice in the matter so I don't know specifically how it works, just what I've read and that sounds about right.
 
I accidentally talked to him but accidentally fell down the hole before he took my lordvessel XD
 
I only have 2 lords to go but man I hate Londo Ruins and Catacombs. Time to take a break.

I hate those places. Luckily they can be gotten through in less than 5 minutes a piece, bosses included.

Bought the PS3 version on a whim today. It's already so much better. Way more ghosts, a lot more summoning going on, and most importantly, anyone who invaded me today (that it actually happened is refreshing) had health that could actually be depleted :D

This killed any chances, what-so-ever, of the 360 version having any sort of viable online, much less stability, mind you max stat in anything under normal conditions is 99:

Go unencrypted saves. I hate Sony locking saves down a lot, but at the very least it helps out here.

New londo and catacombs were simpler to me than Crystal caves (at least until you figure out how to go through it) >_> And I've heard lost izalith is awful so enjoy the other 2 if you hated those lol
