December: WAH WAH PRICES TOO HIGH

April: WAH WAH UNDERCUTTERS

Maybe in July people will bitch about high prices again!

that what i was thinking, only the rich grown when price down as the poor grown when it up high

Wow.. I understand both sides.. I got my River Gaiters for absolute spit in comparison to price... AH history went from 6m -> 17m in 8 sales.... that was fucked up bad..... then dropped alllll the way down to 4-5m in even less... gogomarket

Prices jump randomly, usually when new gil buyers join the game or hit certain levels, cause they have no concept on the effort to earn the amount of gil they toss at items.

Just hold the items for now Odon, prices will ALWAYS go back up, it's how some people make a lot of gil. Think of the AH like stocks. :p Up.... down.... up.... down... but unlike RL they generally go WAYYYYYY up more often than come down :/

I can't hold on to them, because they arent mine, they are my groups.

And we've sold all of em anyway, loseing 40 mil in the process due to undercutting hippies.

ive met Odon before, hes a cool guy
Glad we sorted that one out.

Re: undercutting
Some people simply have different opinions on worth. Just store your item till the undercutter sold his, and then put it up, pay out the group if you are sure of the profit you can make.

Complaining about undercutting to an extreme makes perfect sense, becuse what you are really doing is complaining about other people impatience and how it negatively effects all other sellers, including themselves.

The situation is almost always someone deciding they need to make only a portion of the money they could, and in the process making it even less worthwhile for them to repeat the process in the future. I just love it when people complain about prices after they themselves, are the cause for their own loss in profits.

Odon is complaining because someone else is not only ruining it for himself, but everyone else, including the undercutter. In short, its a pretty retarded thing to do in large increments, which is effectively what the hread is about.

All the people just calling it bitching about the economy in general are missing the bigger picture. Undercutting to such large extremes is self-defeating, and mind boggling to those trying to sell for regulrmarket value. Someone probably would have bought the items for full price had the undercutter actually bothered, but I see that as an unlikelyhood.

let me just take the time to say this If you undercut over a reasonable amount. Fuck you, go die, thanks.

-Odon.

LOL@a 99 crafter complaining about undercutting. And what, your pissed about your ks99 items getting undercut? Things like shinsoku are being undercut because people buy it, and then realize its a complete piece of garbage and scramble to sell it ASAP. People now know its garbage, so prices has dropped down to 6 mil or so. With all the sky shells, behemoth hides are being produced and sold in mass quantities courtesy of Byakko. Other drops from behemoth99 just suck for the most part, save Unsho and maybe purg. mace for those lolDDwhm.

The economy in general is in a steady decline atm anyway, prices will likely go up again after the expanion. If you're smart you would use this decline to your advantage, not complain about some undercutters.

Because of undercutters I have to put the same item on auction multiple times.

Ardougne, Go away, scrub. Wow, don't I look like the mini-me of Vang now?
Fixed.

While it is nice to see stuff not cost 16mil like it did a bit ago (Serket, Astral Earring), it really is actually causing no difference to the economy since EVERYTHING is dropping by the same percentage. =/ Only difference is with deflation, people with gil on them are hurt least, and with inflation people with items are hurt least.

Odon, you're loaded. Stop whining about materials and items being cheaper. =P

You obviously missed my post about what i was complaining about.

Nah, just agreeing with the derail. <3

I hate the undercutting, but there's nothing you can really do...I personally would wait for ToAU to come out before selling anything pricy, because I'm 99% sure this undercutting frenzy is based on "omg stuff better than what I have might come out, then my stuff isn't the best! omgomgomgsellsellsell".

I've lost over 200k trying to f-!king sell my Wrath Tabar. Not as bad as what you've probably gone through, but truth me, it's hitting all of us.

Theres been serious deflation going on since the 300 bil was pulled from the servers, and the kiddies stopped buying all that christmas gil; markets are flooded.

What gets me is when obvious gilbuying meatheads decide to level a craft, and leave a trail of crapped prices in their wake.

I watched this month as one fucktard kept continually undercutting HIMSELF!!

Even though everything he listed would sell overnight, He decided that he would list a synth that had been selling at 300k (made w 200k of ingredients) for 100k. He single-handedly kucked a whole market.

Gratz on your ineptitiude!

Rather than spend 5 minutes finding out the prices on equip i bought off the AH, i generally throw it back up at the same price I purchased it at. I consistently put crystal stacks on AH at the same price as when I first started playing (2k max) and i'm sure I lose a ton of potential profit in the market on armor and weapons. The karma I get for undercutting price jackers grants me TH in KS30s and luck in all my endeavors, so I never mind when Odon buys my seers mitts +1 at 20k when the AH history is 50k because I understand he's doing the same thing I am. Undercutting not to save money but to return our economy to its formor glory days. :)

I bought them at 20k because that was the last sale before i bid :<

Well stated.

AH supply and demand is the natural order, but what I have problems with is *unnatural* price swings. Many a time I've crafted something of which 10-20 items/stacks sell every 24 hours, expecting some quick gil. Despite the fact that there are only 2-3 up at the AH, some one is undercutting by 20-50%.

I can either put mine up at "normal" cost and wait, running the risk that others will follow the new price and my items come back to me; or I can sit on it and have it clog up my limited space. Either way, it takes longer and time is gil. In RL, these idiots go bankrupt, in FF they just camp another NM and get right back to power leveling a craft and pissing gil out the window.

Either way, it's just annoying. Do you know how long it takes to buy a SH with Silent Oil? A hell of a long time. Shit like this drives you crazy.^^

Atleast some people understand where i'm comming from~ '-'

You're nuts!

Here's my 2 cents.

I'll admit I'm an undercutting asshole.
If my shit's on AH, I want it to sell NOW.
If I bazaar, I undercut even more since I'm saving AH fees.

With prices dropping across the board, it's important to deal fast. Odon, I imagine you did those KS runs thinking big $$$. I'm sure you analyzed to death the biggest returns to time and seals invested. Then you took the time to plan it out and prices were already being undermined. You took the time to bazaar and AH at reasonable prices, while everyone else was scrambling for the quick gil. You went to auction at qcdn, looking to cut a deal, but got undercut even more.

You did everything right, but didn't deal fast enough and that's why you're pissed. It sucks, but it happens. I'm sure as a crafter you know to "know your market" but then again you did those KS runs over a month ago and no one can forecast a market over that kind of timeframe.

So your group made half as much gil as they would've in the inflated market. At least take solace in the fact that half the gil can buy twice as much in this market.
