You see it too black and white Myrrh. It seems like you think ever questioning religion makes you intolerable of other people's religion. This is not the case. Far from it.

Then take it to Pms. Again, the point you seem to be missing is that you are insulting an entire religion on a PUBLIC forum. Defend away but don't generalize people in religions. Anttaru could calm down a bit too with the whole Aids thing. That part I did read and found it funny.

He started it. If he wants to throw revalations out there as fact, I'm going to throw the non-existance of god out there as fact.

Can we please get back to the dying in 4 years? I need to know if I should plan a kill my enemies day before the world explodes.

I'm not defending god at all. I'm defending the people who aren't morons about religion.
Once again, read the thread. Please do mention where we have been generalizing every religion.

And we're talking to Ant. Several people are talking to Ant. We can't take it to PM's. I you don't like it, you don't have to read it. We're not holding anyone captive wit ha gun to their head forcing them to read the thread. We're having a public dialog with Anttaru.

He's throwing out biblical things as fact. That is the very same as us throwing scientifical things as fact. If we're bashing his faith by throwing scientifical things as fact, then he do the very same thing.

You can't have your cake and eat it to. One part can't do one thing that the other can, just because they have a faith in something else. That's like saying only black people are allowed to insult white people, but if white people insult black people its racism. Racism works both ways. Religion do too.

You aren't?

oh.. oh.. ohshit. I'll be back.

But, but, Myrrh... we.. there's.. there's science! And logic! How are we not supposed to defend that at any chance?

I must say that I strongly believe in God and I do believe in science as well. Like I've said before, I'm not like most Christians. Yes I believe that the Bible is God's word but it's also man's interpretation of God. I respect your right to not believe in Him and I know that I can't fully explain why I believe. It's more than just, "Because I do." I just don't like to preach to people when they don't want to hear it. Everyone believes what they do because of their own life experience and research. Also, not all Christians think that the world was perfectly created in 7 days. I think Lewis Black said it well when he said that Christian preachers love to preach about his people's (Jews) book and most of the time they get it wrong. Thus you get the crazies who boycott funerals and pound on your door trying to force feed you the gospel. No one ever really made anyone believe anything by forcing it down their throats.

Also, I'm not offended by your comments about Christians because I know that most of the very vocal ones do make us look like we don't know what's going on in the world.

And we've also proved that wrong... in the first few pages. Also, no one can provide solid proof aside from THE GOVERNMENT LIES to prove that Nibiru is going to eat our planet.

So, someone moved it to religion.

The sun will blow up in 4 years. There.

I understand. It's hard for me to grasp the foundations of Christian religion because I base my life upon science, fact, and logic. If I don't see those three things in anything, then it's probably a farce/lie/made-up.

And don't get me wrong. I respect your choice. I don't understand it at all, but if that's how you want to live your life then fine by me. Live and let live. However, it's when people pass off the religion and faith as fact that I get my blood boiling.

Fail. The sun isn't big enough to go super nova. It'll go into a red giant phase that will burn so hot that nothing will survive on Earth.

And that'll happen in about 5-6 billion years.

Actually, it won't only burn earth, it will swallow it whole :P It will expand until its outer corona swallows all of the inner planets, including earth :P

yuh well, still, it won't explode. >_>;

Neche abandoned me =( We were gonna have fun discussions in PM, and then I mentioned that the foundation of religions with a God are based on how Matter can't have existed forever, and had to have been created (which confuses man), and what existed before no matter existed.

This, in itself, is actually pretty logical Alyada. Try to think about how Matter were first created, and what existed before this, without getting a headache. It will leave you with a feeling of depression and confusion.

I actually somewhat know the answer to this, but it would be no fun if I spoiled it =( Granted, its a theory, as everything else scientifically is.

Religion is Man's answer to what we don't understand. Everything that is unexplainable can be explained through religion, which leaves Mankind in satisfaction.

Oh, and before you say Big Bang - What triggered Big Bang. Although Big Bang in itself doesn't really answer where Matter comes from. As Einstein said - Matter is energy. You can't create energy out of nowhere, right? So what triggered Big Bang? There must have been something before it. And something before that.

Except things that religion have explained for a long time are being solved on a daily basis. The matter thing will have to wait. You make a good point, but it still seems kind of far-fetched that a powerful diety created matter.

Religion is only correct because religion is based on social morals and ethics. Not the other way around. Almost every religion have similar morals and ethics. Man created religion. Man also created society.

Excluding Man, Woman or The Highest. Looking at it in raw form. The Laws in the Bible are damn wise. On a serious note, the world would exceed itself if they were strong enough to hold them down.

Personally, I think string theory has the highest probability of being true although it does need some refinements. I know some will then say, "Well where, then, did strings come from?" Although I'm not a theoretical quantum physicist, it seems logical to me that all of the energy necessary to create the matter/anti-matter of this universe was contained in a possible point of contact between dimensional membranes. Therefore, if matter, and by extension strings, are just different states of energy, you have your impetus for creation. That being said, I think it's completely irrelevant to try and discern what actually caused the Big Bang. The reasons being that since we are a part of this particular universe, being comprised of the very substances that make up its existence, we are limited to being able to comprehend things only within the same universe. Pre Big-Bang would be pre-human universe and therefore undiscernable. Also, I think that Aristotle nailed it on the head ~2300 years ago when he said that one has to draw an arbitrary line at some point with regards to necessary and sufficient causes or your search will digress into infinity.
