Derail from Darth thread: Meta/Evidence

this thread is 95% about "we hate Meta, and even though we realize his accusation is probably true, the fact that there's a flaw in his flame regarding no screenshots, gives us the opportunity to ignore the flame in question and instead resort to flaming Meta instead"

you people are sad

It really has nothing with him being Meta. It has everything to do with baseless claims without supporting evidence.

Just an fyi darth wont post on here; why would he post on something he totally depises?

Meta does it just fine. Moreso, he has less of a reason, as while he hates this forum, we hate him in return.

You're right, my posts are now useless in light of this new info. I can admit to that, can you?

+4 to Respect.

The wise man knows when he to admit he is wrong and becomes quiet. The ignorant man doesn't know when to shut the fuck up.

Does the wise man knows when he how write coherent sentence?

after reading all 18 pages and seeing the lack of civility in all of the posts directed towards meta, honestly, i disagree with you and don't believe that at all

why can't people just be honest with themselves and come out and admit that they don't like Meta, and thats the reason this thread is now 19 pages long and completely ignores the fact that Darth, even before the "evidence", probably bought a V.Belt. i mean, don't you people ever consider that meta really had no reason at all to make this up, and if someone has no reason to make a false accusation, and also isn't known for creating flames, probably has some merit to his claims

i'm not friends with meta afaik, so this is just my honest opinion about the whole thing

get over yourselves for once, and realize that this flame was intended to call out somebody who supports RMT activities

If you're not friends with Meta, how do you know that he doesn't have some personal vendetta against Darth? Hmm?

Regardless, this has become a relatively silly argument... Most of the people here hate Meta, Meta claims to hate posting here yet continually does, but his reasons for it are "beyond your comprehension"

Oh well, time to go play with myself some more.

Meta is not the first person to recieve the "pics or it didn't happen" response. People are more rude to him because they don't like him, but every point about how his accusation lacks proof and what he should have done is perfectly valid and still would have been made to someone of good standing with the community. The reason why there's more Meta bashing than initially is because the idiot thinks that he doesn't need evidence and keeps going on about that fact.

It's because we don't like him that we're rude to him, not because we're demanding he actually bring some evidence to back up his accusation.

I refer back to my post about if I were to call Meeze out on fucking goats. No proof leads to convincing no one, which leads to the accused having an easy time proving their own innocence.

Also, evidence proves you're less likely to be making it up. How many times has Kaizen been accused of botting. Or Odon being accused of buying gil. Not to say either of these are true or false, but the accusers had nothing to support their claim. Causing them to seem like they made it up, which made it a no contest for those that defended themselves.

Guess what? Thats exactly how this thread started off.

We'll stop hating Meta for being Meta the moment he realizes his word isn't law, he isn't superior to us, and he quits treating us like savages for not understanding why Japanese find their virtual items that they do not own being checked is an affront to all mankind.

For reference, Meeze does fuck goats, he told me so.

Meeze>> Sup Shy, I fuck goats.
>>Meeze : You do?
Meeze>> Yeah, twice a week.

Omg! It must be true!

Whoever changed the title probably should've changed the OP too, even though it's kinda funny with the new topic title and the OP text.

I propose that a moderator wipes out the 150 or so useless posts in this topic between the OP and the ss that chinis posted and then the crybaby shit after the SS and then see how the topic goes. Let it be about Darth instead of what it's about now.
Agreed. This might take a bit.

Edit to Reality since I don't feel like making another post: Were you around for Peregrine and other board trolls? You reap what you sow when you piss off the board. Be a dick, be treated like a dick.

Of course, every one of my responses beyond the 2nd page is to drive more traffic through. Do you think I actually enjoy making these posts that I write in doldrums, anticipating the next dumb tit-for-tat exchange that'll come about?

I've already said all that was needed to be said in the first page. It was people like yourselves who wanted to make a court case out of it. It certainly wasn't my prerogative to make fun of idiots who were in for a fight in the process, but I'm certainly game for that if that's what people want, and what it takes to make large threads. If you look back, you'll see that it's been stated very early on that screenshots short of the belt equipped isn't convincing evidence. It was you people who wanted them nonetheless and tried to debunk the accusation on that basis they weren't presented (beause it would've been pointless). What you take out of this thread is, and never was of any concern.

If you couldn't tell, thread visibility was all I cared about. More visibility = more eyes on Darth for the self-explanatory material evidence and/or inability for Darth to use his ill-gotten belt. Both of which accomplish the same thing. Dimish the gains from the belt.

Oh, and Darth wasn't at KA today, so it would still be difinitive proof if you saw him wearing one.

I think the point that the main posters in this thread were trying to make, is that the OP's post sounded like "gossip" because of the way the initial thread was posted. I don't really see anyone saying that they "didn't" believe the OP, but rather they just wanted him to be able to provide a little more then a brief summary of what happened so that it could be seen as something other than a "personal vendetta" which is typically what all flames have become recently on these boards.

And THIS is why no one here likes you. Anyone who doesn't agree with you or heaven forbid asks you to backup a claim is an idiot. You have no respect for anyone here and thus it's all returned to you tenfold. It looks like you're the next Peregrine, only I'd listen to him before you because his posts actually at least have effort put into them. Yours are just full of half-assed insults and words you pulled out of your thesaurus.

Moved the on-topic posts back to the Darth thread.

Talk about the Speed Belt fiasco over there, this thread is strictly the derail of people razzing Meta and vice-versa.

I didn't say it didn't take time. I said it wasn't difficult. Too vastly different things.

You can get all 15 jobs to 66 by yourself(linkshellless) with realitive ease. Thats not the case with anything relating to a "HNM" with a high demand, rarely introduced item.

Yes, I consider Speed/Velocious Belt, or a Ridill and Adaberk, a Kirin's Osode, a Black Belt, a Hecatomb Harness, Ares' Cuirass, etc., more of an accomplishment than a lowly Maat's Cap. Ones proof of a collaboration of players working toward a common goal(or just buying it off RMT, which diminishes the achievement,) the others just proof of enough personal free time and drive that anyone can do on their own.

Sure, Maat's cap is worth bragging about. But it's not worth as much as just about anything endgame besides Genbu loot.

Are you high? i mean mostly i don't care w/e you are say but this has to be the dumbest comment from you ever.Grats on that.Let me explain few things
So you consider the following things a true accomplishment ===>
Osode = Can buy it from bazaars and many ppl buy it.Who knows where the gil comes from
Speed Belt = An item which is known to make ppl buy gil in order to obtain.Doesn't mean all of them do but still
Hetacomb Harness / ridill = Requires luck and maybe haxor.NAs weren't even claiming HNMs till SE introduced new claiming methods i believe.
Salvage stuff = yes i'd agree with that i guess since it pure work.

But leveling 15 jobs to 66 isn't as easy as you think. It's a big accomplishment. One rdm can literally farm Genbu. Not supporting darth but supporting the fact that maat's cap is one of the hardest if not the hardest items to obtain in game

If by hard you mean it requires a lot of time investment, sure. But then again, you could camp Fafhogg everyday for 2-3 years and never even sniff a Ridill. Their are only a handful of things having a Maat's cap proves:

1) you have no social life
2) you have no job
3) you have no obligation to school
4) any combination of the previous 3
5) multiple people play the same character ~24/7
6) you used one of those exp-for-you-if-the-price-is-right websites

Yeah it's possible that you could buy a lot of the items (either outright or purchase the lotting rights to such items) that people hold in high regard. However if you do this, it significantly lessens the accomplishment in the eyes of the community. If you farmed up every single gil legitimately to buy that item, then you could argue that the achievement is just as meritous as if you had camped it yourself. However, if you just used gil that you bought from IGE, then I think most people would agree that it completely invalidates any sense of accomplishment that you may hold.

To illustrate the point, just think about this. Whom do people admire/respect more for their achievements...Someone like Andrew Carnegie who rose from abject poverty on his own to become one of the richest men in the world or someone like Paris Hilton who just mooches off mommy and daddy's trust fund?
