Devil May Cry 4 Official thread

I don't understand how ANYONE can whine and bitch about the 20 min install process as much as the pre-pubertal adolescent guys over at IGN.com...

Might have to pick this one up sometime in the future. I played the demo for this and really enjoyed it. It played a lot like the first one which was the only one I really liked. I played the other two but I couldn't get into them as much as I did the first one. I still need to complete mass effect so I won't be getting this right away but I'm keeping in mind.

so im halfway through the portion of the game you play as Dante and this is where my beef on the game comes in, when you play as dante for most of the time you are just running back through the levels you went through as nero, though they are slightly altered here and there and you have to find different ways around because of the different moves sets and abilities, but then you also get to rehash and fight through the same bosses on your way back through. And these bosses dont even pretend they ever got beaten by nero earlier.
its not so much of a bad thing i guess, just kinda annoying that for several more missions it felt as if i was doing the same thing i just did in previous missions only backwards.
i also must say its much much harder to pull off style combos as dante since he hes all the different battle stances, different weapons to switch between, i much more prefer Nero!
i liked being able to snatch up enemies with the demon arm.
The story so far is very much still bad ass, and im almost complete with the game so i hope it ends just as good as its been going.
and theres this scene where Dante gets the Lucifer weapon and destroys a hellgate, i just gotta say...classic!

I'm pretty sure that the bosses were beaten by Dante first because when you fight that first flame boss he says to Nero "You are like the other one" or something along those lies which I think he is talking about Dante, so I'm pretty sure Dante really fights everything first then Nero fights everything second you just do it in the opposite order.

No, Dante beats them after him. Dante destroys the gates.

Yeah I didn't like that either. You end up going through the same levels, and same places over and over again, just as different characters.
Having to beat the bosses 3 times each kinda seemed incredibly lame. I get it's Capcom and all, but c'mon guys.

I had to take a break from this game, and i'm fairly close to trading it in. Doing every boss that many times, and basically only having 1/2 of a game makes me regret buying it.

Ok I'm really starting to get pissed off about that fucking electric demon. I didn't have too much trouble fighting him with Dante, but i get fucking raped when I fight it with Nero. Anyone know a good way to fight these things as Nero?

I just shot them till the electricity went out, then went to town with melee on the demon. With both Dante and Nero.

Thanks ^^, I just started doing double jumps off of walls while shooting and it worked since he would miss me with his teleports and lasers most of the time.

I have decided i'm trading this in tomorrow when I go pick up DW6. It was fun, should have rented it though. I honestly don't see myself going back and playing through it ever again (I'm on my second play through now and not really having fun anymore). Its to repetative, so it goes bye bye. Should pay off Rainbow Six Vegas 2 though :D

a rent not buy, side tracking back through the levels are kind of lame. Though Dante with Yamato = badass

I know alot of people did not like play back through the game as Dante but I liked it. I do wish there were more unique levels in the game but at least there were some twists to Dante's levels. I love the cutscenes in the game but I think they worked too much on those when there could have been 1 or 2 more levels available. I think there are at least 100 minutes in cutscenes in the game. Though,I am happy that Bloody palace had made its return to the game and that I can't beat it yet.

I bought it and I am glad with my purchase and at the very least shows that DMC 5 should be even better with a few tweaks.
