Well you have to understand. Psy is usually a pretty cool person but if you disagree with anything/anyone she believes you, you're wrong and stupid by default.

She'll go OCD and namecall but not really offer anything of substance. Then she slithers back into the shadows to take her happy pills and then it's approximately 22-24 days of contentment before the next wave of hormonal imbalance hits. You'll see, 2-3 of her posts from now, she'll be mellowed out and making more logical arguments.

A shell owner has sack holders for a reason. In every endgame event I go on, IF the leader can not make it, one of the sack holders takes over. If more than one of the leaders can not make it, they insure that the ones there can do the work. The ball was dropped many times. From the OP screen shots it would appear the leader had been on the game at random times. It would have been easy for him to reach one of the sackholders to relay instructions or give gil to for payouts. They have a vent server. This makes it even worse for a lack of communication. He did not even have to be on the game to give instructions. Either he knew that they needed the bank and chose not to take 5 minutes of his time to get on and send gil to help, or his chosen leaders did not bother to tell him.

Talking on vent does nothing to include the whole shell. Not every player has access to it. There is no way to give proof that there was any solution reached that was done by all. In my dynamis shell we have MAYBE 8 people on vent. I would like to think an HNM shell would have 30+ people. So telling people go to vent when they may not have access to it leaves them without a voice. Taking it out of LS chat and ignoring LS chat for vent only was nothing more than a fuck off to the members. :mob: It also removes any evidence of what was truly said unless someone records all the voices.

It sounds like some of the leaders know each other in r/l. I can only assume that they like most ffxi players would have spoken to each other about how things are in game. As much as people might like to say it is the members fault for not coming, I wish you to remember that a linkshell is only as strong as it's leaders. It is the leaders jobs to tell people and enforce when they do not come. No matter which leader is there, it is their responsiblity to do what must be done for the whole.

As for the lower leaders who have "never had to deal with the situation before" comment..... grow a set. You learn by watching, then you give it a try. If you fail, you change what you need to to get the job done. From what I understand of the OP it was really about trying to get people who want to help the ability to help. To me it seems the bank was more of an attacking issue to force other players to ask questions on how things are being handled. More people will pay attention if it effects them. Nothing gets to a player more than his gil.

They wanted someone who would be there to handle the bank. This is reasonable. They wanted people who want to lead to be sacked. Only the shell owner can do this. So it is also reasonable. They wanted players who are not being handled by the original players to be desacked. I will assume there was some issue that made them want to ask for this. This too would be reasonable to ask for. Asking that before a leader takes a long break for any reason to help to ensure that the shell has what it needs to continue is very reasonable. These seemed to be the main points.

Part of the job of being a leader is in fact taking all the attacks and shit that come your way. People are not going to tell you good job, they are going to tell you all about the screw ups. So breaking pearls and refusing to talk in the LS is childish. It is possible for a leader to step down, keep the shell and just have someone else run things. I have seen this happen before. Then when the leaders r/l settles down they can slowly come back into the leadership role, or opt to co-lead. I hope that what ever was decided for the shell in vent works out. If not, you can only blame the leadership for the ls dying off.

Uh.... you do know that Psylent is a dude, right? If that was supposed to be a subtle insult, then my bad.

But I've talked with Psylent on Vent before, definitely not a female. Or he's one beast of a lady. haha
 
Poor Leadership is poor. Telling members you don't feel like gathering for a Day 2 Faf to help them in getting a Ridill is a let down for an entire LS. It's not just said person that gets affected, but it goes into other members heads too, knowing that it might be like that for them when they're up next. It de-motivates people, which is the exact opposite Leaders are supposed to do. They're supposed to rally the members, if the members aren't listening grow some fucking balls and put them on the spot in LS chat so other people will recognize. An LS is nothing without its members, they're the ones who make up 90% of the LS and they're the ones you need to keep satisfied, but at the same time you need to keep them on a straight line.

I know I can speak for all the Leaders in Absolution when I say we always pictured Gred as Dez's true Leader. We would often comment on vent about the fact that he seemed to be the one rallying the members to camp, as he was the one and only consistent person we would constantly see trying to get ToD's or camping. Other then Zyph the only other Leader I personally even recognize from the SS's or talk in here is Sirfang, so that doesn't say a lot for the other Leaders that have been mentioned in this thread.

As for LS banks, they can be great for LS's if handled by the right people and if pay outs are fair. Cutting off members from the LS bank so a Leader can upgrade isn't the right way to go about things. There's no reason you can't both upgrade and pay out members, sure it may take a while longer to upgrade, but at least you're keeping everyone happy.

And as many times as I've said that, it gets truer every time I say it: I'm anti-bot and I disdain those that use third party tools. BUT:

Absolution posts have been the only ones that have shown any kind of global perspective in seeing the bigger picture. About a linkshell being a group of people and not a swarm of peons gathering around a few leaders.

If Dez or anyone wonders why people would join Absolution, it's because there's a fairness and lack of leader worship in the way they run things.

Your claiming methods suck beyond recognition but you guys run a shell the way it's supposed to be run. I've said that. Gred's said that. Props.

Was about to scroll down to the next page when the word "cocksucker" caught my eye. At first I was like MAN those brosale guys are getting aggressive! Then I saw there were a few real tells mixed in with the spam. One from a Dez guy, another showing support for this thread lol ^^

So I send a GM call and then searched for the little butthole. He was in Salvage. 10 mins later I get probably the coolest GM ever, Harquva. We shoot the shit talking about how we're both excited about FF14. He assures me the drop rate on Fafnir won't be any better (and he won't be called Fafnir). Then he promises to look into the matter of harassment.

Well.. your sig avatar notwithstanding, I wasn't really razing anyone in particular about the huggles and unicorns dynamis master schedules. It's exactly like SE putting FoV in popular exp areas and letting it run rampant with only an EP requirement. There's no reasonable restrictions or any kind of system in place that promotes huggles and unicorns where we can all frolic happily together. The game is ultimately PvP. You compete for mobs, zones, items, camps, everything down to freakin guild vendors.

So yall are forced to try to make your own system of timesharing the dyna zones. And it only takes 1 LS that disregards the master schedule or doesn't care to use it to throw half a dozen shells out of whack. So is it really that LS's fault, or is it a dev team fault for being shortsighted to the point that they get to use the gimp parking spots at the shopping mall?

You can take that mode of thinking to its ultimate conclusion and say "if the dev team made the code more secure, third party tools wouldn't exist, so it must be ok to use them." Which I don't agree with but meh. My stance is somewhere between the dynamis sentiment and the bot sentiment.

But really, way to pick out the tiniest, most insignificant statement I made in the entire dramafest and make me elaborate. :/ Now everyone is getting bored.

I know it's a hard concept to imagine, but every once in a blue moon a GM actually DOES something. I know I know, it comes as a shocker to me as well, because it happens every 1/10,000 but it does happen sometimes, just ask BBT, he's just finished serving a 3 day Temp for a similar action I believe ;)

Either you're just rude and demanding to the GM's you call saying they HAVE to take action etc. or you're calling a GM for bullshit reasons. I've only had one bad experience with a GM ever, and I have a lot of GM calls under my belt.
 
I'm not a rude person generally, and I don't have a lot of GM calls under my belt, also internet sarcasm. But from the number of topics I've read with posted SS's of conversations with GM's this is what's drawn me to my opinion. Why is it sometimes GM's can help lock a friends account when they've been hacked, yet sometimes others can't? Why is it one GM will jail an individual for Diaga'ing Darters, yet others just blow it off? It's all dependant on the GM himself and the mood you may happen to find them in at a given time. Yes the way you present your case to them will also factor in, and believe me I've always taken that into consideration in the odd time I've contacted one.
 
Perhaps I've been out of the HNM scene for too long, but when did people stop killing Darters again? People started killing them around the time .dat swapping was no longer an option (surprise, it still works), people stopped again?
 
People still kill them.
 
Dependant of who's there how many of them and so on. On my old server though no, they actually weren't killed on a daily basis.

You say the members tried to rally people to camp HNMs, but wouldn't listen. So you think jumping and remaking a new pearl is really going to make people listen to you? If they don't listen to you at point A, there not going to listen to you at point B. Unless you want to be a tyrical rampart leader, you know the type your complaining about.
I thought end game was about obtaining gear, not money from the bank. Sure you said screw the bank near the end, but you guys were sobbing over money which started the feud. You'd rather spend so many points getting gil rather then getting a item, wrong reason to join a HNM LS.
