Diablo III

I've been getting in to Eastern Sun, a mod for Diablo II which features a difficulty increase, "post-game" dungeons and some act retooling to accommodate them, as well as a very heavily customizable item system and brand new uniques/set items. Even base items such as Brass Knuckles and class specific amulets and rings. Mercenaries have been retooled so that Act 2 aren't the hands down best. They all get access to new abilities, such as Fire Arrow Rogues eventually getting Strafe(which is fukken ridiculous with the new Gemwording,) Cold Mage Knights getting Frozen Orb, and Barbarians getting Battle Orders and Battle Commands. Act 2 Mercs weren't left out of the new abilities love, as they've been given Vengeance and a few other new toys as well.

On the player side, skill trees have been retooled to make most, if not all, abilities a class has pretty useful. Even brand new abilities such as the Barbarian's Thunder skills and the Paladin's summonable Anointed Bear. Skill point cap per ability has been increased beyond 20. I think it's 30 or 35.

I'm playing on the Goontopia gateway due to being Grade A Goonie Goon, but if anyone would like to play there as well, I can make an account for you. Just a note, you will die a lot. You will realize your fuck ups with items. You will have fun though. And lots of it.

Damn, I need to install D2 again now... That mod sounds awesome.

Is a valid CD key required to play it? I can't find my original D2 CD's, only my copies =/

Nope. CD Keys are only required for Battle.net gateways. Goontopia doesn't use Blizzard's authenticator since well, it's not a Blizzard server.
 
Great, thanks. So I'll just have to find a random CD key then for install.
 
Maybe I'm a retard, but how exactly do you register for an account to that eastern Sun thing?

To register on the forums you need a username for their private tracker, and to register for their private tracker, you need an account on their forums. Since I have neither, its just not possible to register.

Oh, nvm. It says (Required) after the whole tracker username thingy, but I left it blank and it still worked. Strange, suppose I should see if login in works.

This is actually pretty damn awesome, thanks for the link Skaw. There's so much new stuff it pretty much makes it another expansion. Lots of new mobs, harder, new abilities, new items new dungeons etc.

What's the shaman flags etc. for? I know hearts etc. are used to make new items through the cube, but I can't find what the flags dropped by the shamans are for though.

Converting organ points and gem types. For example, cube a Perfect Gem, Flag, and Chipped Gem, you'll get a Perfect grade version of whatever chipped gem you used.

Cubing 2 flags by themselves gets you a decipher as well.

Also if you haven't been there yet, don't go in to Blood Raven's Workshop. Wait until at least Act 3. Shit's hard, and an Ice based Iron Wolf will help immensely because they have Protection from Cold Aura, which means you won't get frozen by the 50 million ice arrow using skeleton archers and frost nova casting Raven Shaman.

I said possibly, meaning it's not confirmed 100% at the moment. However, White Knight Chronicles did release on Christmas Day in Japan, but I suppose that's the exception because it's Japan.

Well good news... when i got to work and clocked in yesterday, i started to read the store informer and we (gamestop) can now start taking preorders on Diablo III. Still no price or SD (street date) tho.
 
Really? :P interesting. I want Diablo 3 bad but I'll wait.

If it (doubt it) means I'll stop getting asked if I played Diablo II, I can't wait for it to come out either.
