I'm not sure if this was posted anywhere before, but this is amazing to watch. A little Taru BLM taking down Diabolos Prime solo by exploiting the falling tiles in the Shrouded Maw. It seems that although Diabolos can fly, he wont hover over tiles which are designated to fall, thus making it somehwat easy for this BLM to stay out of melee range.

I'm still trying to pinpoint the nuances of his strategy (does he cast Enblizzard at the beginning?), but it seems he's either very skilled or very fortunate, or perhaps both. Quite impressive, who needs chain-stunners right? :p

does Avesta know of this? XD

It's a really cool video. I like how he made use of casting timers and began walking at 65%-70% casting-time so as to move before he was even finished casting, and not being interrupted while doing so.

Ya, it's a pretty nifty trick for kiting or if you're nuking with sleep/bind - just takes a bit of practice to feel out cast times and to compensate for fast cast. Even better if you can time macro swaps to bypass the casting animation.

Think of the "delay" (or lag?) between you and the server. While on your side (client end) you have already moved, you haven't actually done so on the server end. Hence he was able to finish the cast.

This is why you can never outrun mobs (assuming you both have no enhanced movement) while it seems you're out of range while you're running and wonder "how can I be hit? It should be out of range!". In reality, on the server end, when you did run off so did the mob, tailing you. It's not shown on the client end. However, it WILL be visible for the other players (if you dual box you can easily witness this, or get someone to video you).

With practice it's extremely useful.

This video's actually quite old, maybe from sometime last year or so, but it really is something to watch.

I'd assume with all the new gear and stuff, people should be able to solo this quite effectively, counting on that little bit of luck.

Also i see Sch's doing this quite well, i was actually gonna try to do it on my sch, but ended up forgetting about it back when i first hit 75.

I know the mechanics, lol. Mine was an observation of how nifty it was that he was using it advantageously....

Ah.

I want Diablos, and here I am wondering if it's possible to do this on RDM haha, more DoTing to death more than anything though.... with a Thunder 3 thrown in there now and again ...

Hmmm I was wondering that too. With Diabolos you're looking at around 9k-10k HP, which isn't much in the grand scheme of things but I don't think you'll want to be lingering too long with DoTs as he can get kind of mean when he's critical. Maybe you can gauge how much CS + Blizzard III will take off with your set-up and then finish with that after whittling him down enough?

The only drawback I can see with RDM or SCH is that you'll be left without the safety of stun... unless of course you sub DRK.

I don't think that SCH could solo it TBH. They'd have to go /DRK to stun Cacodemonia, and that means they would have to give up on Blink and Stoneskin (something that Vol [or was it Vel or Val, lol] was casting each time it wore). At least not with out a shit-ton of meds and pots (or luck).

I believe they would also lose gravity from not subbing RDM.

That too, lol.

I do, however, believe that a SCH/RDM and RDM/DRK (or BLM or even a DRK) could duo that with relative ease.

Cool video. It gives me a lot mroe respect for Blms that can do this because I hate soloing for exp, much less for something as challenging as Diabalos.

mroe = more

Blizzard3 nuke takes 10% of it's HP iirc, so yeah chainspell nuke rapes it. Just hope that he doesn't sleep you.

I think one of his moves puts a high damage bio on you and sleeps you also (without the DoT waking you up)

*edit*
Nightmare its called (yeah I had to look it up >.> I don’t have him for my 25SMN lol)
