Did you rename your characters?

I replayed FF1 a few weeks ago, and named my characters after people in this game.

Funny I just saw him log in recently only for a few min didnt say anything to him. He was on a different char.

I'm the one who taught him how the play :shock: hehe good times was in windy at the time was fun.
 
I have a hard time thinking of names that would work. I always just leave the names the way they area (except maybe not capitalizing them). Playing secret of mana was a pain trying to think of all the names...arg...
 
I had a Carth, Corwin, Sabia and Jamal in FF1 Dawn of Souls

First time through FF7 i named characters after friends 'cept for Red 13, i just named him "Red"
Second time through, i left character names the same, 'cept for Red and Barret, named them Nanaki and Mr. T (great minds think alike, huh Sleepstealer!), and have ever since.
 
My friend let me play his FF7 since he can't play video games if his life depended on it, so basiclly i was bord and put all the rounchest names i could think of on his charicters. Calls me the next day and was like "THE HELL DID YOU DO!!!"

haha I named Barret Mr.T too, and I named cloud Foo'

Mr.T: The planet is dyin, Foo'!! XD ah i loved naming them funny things.. one of my friends named everyone sephiroth.. hurt..my..brain lol :D
 
I don't think I've ever renamed a character before. I think of it like a book, I can't change the character's names in a book I buy so why do it here.

Cloud - Aries
Tifa - Reign
Aeris - Aeris
Barret - Klide
Red XII - Corky (after my first dog. ; -;)

Cloud = Whiney, Marioroth.
Tifa= Boobs
Aeris= Lady Evil
Barret= Dr. Madd
Red XIII= Air Bud
Cait Sith= NOTReeve
Cid= Red Baron
Yuffie= I forgot...

Aeris = pwned!

That way, when she dies, if someone yells her name in greif, (Can't remember if someone does or not) instead of *shank* AERIS!!, it'll be *shank* PWNED!

It's not very nice, but it's late and I think it's kinda funny.

Barret=BigDaddy
Tifa=Taters-I thought it just fit
Aerlis=Flower- She's a flower girl so I thought it fit
RedXIII=Jenga after my cat

Yuffy=Kim-Chi ~After my wife, I always try to name one character after her~
Vincent=Lui Cipher
Cait Sith=Fat Ass

Cid=Cid ~cant take cid out of the game.....it's not FF w/o Cid
 
Only game I remember renaming my characters was Chrono Trigger...

Crono=Crono
Marle=Nadia
Frog=Glenn
Robo=RX-Y66
Magus=Janus
Ayla=Ayla
Lucca=Lucca

I also did rename Red XIII into Nanaki in FFVII, hoping it would alter some dialogue, it didn't =(
 
Lol I did the same thing for CT Pup, changed into their actual names :P Think Robo was R-66Y though
 
The first time I ever played a FF game was FFIX (best one, ya it's better than FFVII and you all know it!) and I named Zidane, the main character, after myself. At the start of the game you play Zidane for a few minutes but it switches to Vivi for the into. so I thought "Hey maybe this is the main char." so I also named him after myself. I had to play the entire game with two characters sharing the same name. :( I never made that mistake again.
