This is a flame kinda towards..areas that are just..why was it ever created!

VALKURM DUNES GOD

Ok i was pting a few min ago..and I got this invite so im like sure.. I go to the camp and we fight a lizard.
Where to begin
Tank didn't even 'voke it
Back up take i think voked it insteat than the main tank
Hey..this revolves around voking..x.x
BLM was attacked, tank didnt even try to voke it
BLM dies then the tank vokes i go "wtf"
Back up tank who has the monsters hate is dying, I cant cure him enough to save him and the main tank doesnt voke
back up dies, and then main tank vokes. Later on I get aggored, and tank doesnt voke until I die (im the whm) and then next thing I know everyones dead

I go "WTF! FRIGGIN VOKE IT"m(this was during battle)

After battle: "GOD YOU GOTTA PROVOKE THE MONSTER"
"its just a delevel, we can get it back" thats not the point..
"I know..heres something VOKE THE MONSTER BEFORE THE OTHER PERSON DIES NOT AFTER, SO THAT WAY, THE PERSON BEING ATTACKED WONT....DIE!"
"makes..sense"

I hate rants on the Valkrum Dunes.

I mean seriously this is the first time a lot of people have ever been in a party and you people freak out on them.

WARs don't know how to voke, WHMs don't have cure macros and end up tabbing around hoping to select the person they want to cure etc. It comes with being new and freaking out on people doesn't help them at all. Try teaching them rather than hitting your caps lock and tearing them a new asshole.
 
I agree Sabia... its one thing if its in like the Crawlers Nest... but the dunes? come on now...

This is why a lot of new people quit... they stop having fun because people take the game way too seriously.

I'm a 44 whm and I still don't use Cure Macros, and I'm quicker then most people who do have macros ^^

/em is in agreement with Sabia.

I hate people who chew other people out for not knowing what to do. If it bothers you that much just leave the party. No reason to make an ass out of urself and discourage the new player from wanting to continue to play.
 
PS: My rant goes for players who have high level jobs too. I've been playing 52 levels of summoner but if I hit the dunes as a WAR and didn't know how to play my class why don't you try to teach me? The dunes is a place to learn how to play, not a place that you should of mastered your job by the time you hit... :roll:
 
The only rant I want to see from now on about the dunes is high level players helping lowbies saying

"WHAT THE FUCK!! You guys are playing way to freakin good and not making enough gobbo trains to the zone!! I'm gettin freakin bored here so how about some mass death so I can come raise your asses?!"

Sorry...I love killing gobbo trains and raising peeps....especially peeps w/o subjobs because they're adorable :D
 
I dont like gobs at zones >.> Cause they think my character tastes good with ketchup and next thing you know im dead and being eating for din-din gobs=tarus nightmare.
 
I believe it. Typing /ma "Cure IV" <namehere> can be fast as hell. I can type my macros insanely fast. Shit, sometimes it beats using my macros since the damn bar won't appear for another 2-3 seconds after I hit ctrl anyway. Ask Julzdemon if you see him in game. He's seen me type out spells I don't have macro'd. (Like Holy).

I dont use Cure macro's all i do is hold ctr and press m to open my magic screen button then i select cure then use the F key's. You dont really need a macro for everything... and ive never let anyone die as a healer.

That's "all" you do?

On my Whm macro set, I have ctrl-(1-5) set fot Cure2 and alt-(1-5) set for cure3. Party member 1 needs a cure, I just hit ctrl-1 and he is cure. Much faster. If your tank ever gets hit with sickle slash followed by a crit, you're gonna have a dead tank before you can cure them using your method.
 
Ok yes we should teach new players and try to help them out. Hell I learned so much from awesome players in the dunes who I am still friends with. However what I've found lately is that half of them don't take critiscism or suggestions or listen at all. Very, Very frustrating when the puller repeatedly pulls when nobody has any mp no matter how many times you ask them to wait. Or when the WAR has never heard of provoke and gets all pissed when you try to start to explain it to him. It took me about 8 hours of lvling in the dunes to get my smn from 11-13 recently. It was absolutely frustrating. Or the people who drop pt when you tell them you don't have a PL (and they are rank 1 with no sub, um yeah they're going to be a good player).

So yeah. Now I do LS pts in the dunes and we pull in one or 2 new players. They are not all bad, hell I even invited one of them to my ls. But man, seeking in the dunes just sucks.

hehe ^^ that's how my cure macros are for my WHM (or in RDM mode I just go down to the next set of ALT and CTR macros for them) and for my RDM my Refresh has that ^^ /magic "Refresh" <me> another /magic "Refresh" <p1> etc...
