diffrence between energy drain and energy steal?

How about some info?
 
How about, what are they, when do they happen. Are the spells, from weapon skills, an additional effect on some weapon, what? I'm asking because I don't think I've heard of them before, so I want to know where they're from.
 
im asking what is the diffrence between them, if you do not know what they are than you are unable to answer my question....... there both weapon skills that drain Mp and give it to yourself but i dont see very much of a diffrence between the two maybe some one knows? >.>
 
heh well that sucks whats the point of giving us the same WS two times? >.> with out SA TA dagger for BRD blows :-\
 
Yeah, I'd guess they're the same thing, since stealing and draining energy from something would have the same effect. Maybe they indicate a different level of drainage, like energy drain gets 10%, while energy steal gets 15%.
 
IF there is a difference, i would imagine that energy steal would take hp or mp away from the enemy and add it to yours as one lump sum. energy drain from what it sounds like, would drain hp or mp away from the enemy...not giving the hp/mp to the spell caster but just draining
 
seems random, the latter one enery drain level 175 DGR at 300 TP gave me 70 MP not bad i guess.... took a long time to build 300 TP tho, ill have to test some more on mobs that dont con VT to me >.>
 
Energy Steal is just an improved version of Energy Drain. Much like Burning blade and Red Lotus Blade (only not good)
 
If I remember correctly, One requires you to have MP, in order to Aspir the MP, the other does massive damage to the mobs MP pool, and drains a little MP. Both are useless imo... Considering Mobs got like 91,000,000,000,000,000,000 MP...
 
Both steal MP from mobs that have MP, but the second one has a stronger effect. I used to farm as thf/blm in Beadeaux so I could have warp/drain/aspir, so MP was actually an issue sometimes as thf.
 
Energy Steal is an improved version of Energy Drain, and is also RDM only.

if you want to know, the difference is that Energy Steal drains more MP.

Energy Drain is usable by all jobs
Energy Steal is RDM only.

with 100% TP, Energy Steal drains ~70 MP with a dagger skill of 250 on robber crabs
 
Strange you say that Uzor. This chart doesn't show Energy Steal as being exclusive. Energy Drain is the higher lvl one and exclusive to:THF,RDM,BRD,RNG,NIN.
 
well, Energy Drain is the exclusive one then, long time ago I last used dagger

And I'm pretty sure THF's cant use it, but by all means, ask them. I might be wrong. I don't remember any other job saying they have it though.
