Tiya gets the credit for this idea but I have been pondering it for quite some time because frankly I am sick of it. I know HNM LSs have dealt with this since the first 2 were ever created but I do not see why SE has not acted on it yet or if no one has ever brought this up.

Being able to hide your zone.

I am sick of the counter camping, it's not right for someone to figure out the tod on a 24 hour spawn and some lazy fuck to just do a /sea all of the area and come down depending on what names they see.

First off the idea was brought up that turning on the anon option should hide your zone but that could hurt possible xp parties who need to do a /sea all of the area in Jeuno before deciding to go to location "X" to xp.

For example if there are 2 parties in Bibiki Bay and they were all /anon that new forming group in Jeuno would be fucked when they went all the way out only to find 2 more parties.

I think a seperate option should be in place besides /anon to hide your zone.

I don't know I think it would be WONDERFUL for those of us who actually work to figure out the TOD on certain NMs, HNMs, only to have 200 people in the zone during said NM or HNM's window because of counter campers.

I'm bored as I am sure most of you are so discuss if you will, if not, fuck it.

I agree completely! :D

I think the bad far outweighs the good when it comes to /anon for a zone. So some people use /search to get ToDs and whatever but making life more difficult for counter-campers is not as important as giving zone information for parties. As much as people want Square to focus all their efforts on HNMs and other high-level content you have to remember that the majority of people on this game have never camped a HNM, and may not have any desire to.

It's a decent idea, just unfeasable.

I always figured checking for names in an area to be cheating. However being able to see exp pts or see how many people are in a zone can be helpful as well. Like why would I go to Giddeus if theres more than 25 people sitting at the spawn. I agree that being able to steal spawn time with /sea is crappy but I don't see a good fix.

I addressed that, a seperate option to hide your zone is what I want.

I doubt many people in xp parties would hide their zone if they didn't want other parties coming and crowding the place.

Well, I don't camp HNM's and such, so, I can't say how that would affect things.

Hiding your zone though, it could be a problem with other things, say you want to go mining or harvesting somewhere, before you dump all your items, suit up, and buy x stacks of pickaxes/sickles, you do a "/sea all area" to see how many people are hanging out in that area who are either anon or way too high of a level to be there for no good reason.

That's just the first thing that came to me, but I guess a lot of miners/harvesters wouldn't want to hide their areas, for the same reason xp parties wouldn't want to...

I suggested this a long time ago, except I dont bother posting on forums, I sent the idea to SE and they responded with some auto response and then never got back to me.

While I posibly aggee as far as HNMs go, if you looking for an area to EXP in, for that /anons, most of the time thay will have a green exp dot.

Then you would have a ton of people just leave it on all the time, and if HNM shells only got /areaanon durring HNM hunts, it will not help, I'm shur people in one HNM shell know alot of names in other shells. If you can't see what area someone who you know camps HNMs daily as /areaanon, its just the matter of figuring out which one hes at, if the LS is trying to take over the HNM.

How about this idea tho.... a way to pop HNMs, like gods. Make it drop some hard BCNMs, or some tough mobs that take more then 1 party to kill. (might help lower prices of some items like strider boots). Could be a ??? near each HNM spot, or a special room, and it pops a random HNMs, would include a small chance at king behemoth... etc

Ultimetly, I would be against the Idea. Thay just need to keep adding HNMs

I'm not sure about this idea, it's not bad except that people will start other methods of finding pop times that might get much more uncivil if you know what I mean...
And what about the intimidation of seeing 15 people you know are camping VE, making you realize the odds of getting claim are such that it's not worth going too?

The good might outweight the bad, I am not sure on this one.

No offense Fire, but your ideas on VE, well, that is my defintion of counter camping lol.

Svina maybe your HNMLS thrived on counter camping idk but trust me it's no fun sitting for 24 hours to figure out the time of a certain mob only to have 20 people "mysteriously" show up when you do the next day at the exact window.

Like I said before when my partner and I would kill Argus we would have to sit in the maze for 5-8 hours afterwards just to throw off everyone...Ridiculous.

hehe... ya... I hate having to sit and find a ToD on a HNM and then I see people there the next day that couldn't have gotten the ToD any other way than being search whores. And changing HNM to God like pop would be boring. In my opinion.

This idea could be useful, but I kinda doubt it. "Stealing" a ToD isn't really that big of a deal, in my opinion. I mean sure, you know when to not waste your time at the spot, but the ToD window is already fairly large. And HNMs take so long to kill, it wouldn't even be that accurate - the HNM might not die for another hour or so (at least, that's what I've heard... no idea how long it actually takes to kill one of them).

As for stopping CCing, here's an idea...

Make most HNMs into trigger-spawn mobs (at least, the ones with coveted Rare/Ex drops like abjurations - money drop HNMs can be left as-is). In order to spawn the HNM, you need to trade an item (probably a Rare/Ex one) to a ??? near the HNM's normal spawn point. The item can be gotten in different ways, depending on the HNM, but it's fairly easy to get (examples would be from a chest/coffer, dropped from normal mobs, crafted, etc). When a HNM spawns, all players in the alliance in that zone get a status effect of some kind. Only players with that status effect are allowed to fight the HNM (think Eco-War or Garrison, only without a level cap). The fight itself works like normal (although the difficulty might be toned down a bit, since you'll be limited to 18 people). Then, any player that had that status effect will be unable to trigger the HNM's spawn or fight against that HNM for several days.

Basically, you can easily trigger the HNM's spawn, but you won't be able to spawn or fight it repeatedly.
