Knowing what Final Fantasy boxarts look like stateside, I'd say we'll get the logo on a white background. Sadness :(

They were there originally, I remember when he first posted it. But uh.. yeah, seems like they have mysteriously vanished now.

130+ hours of playing, I'm a bit bored now lol.
 
So is this what altana really looks like?

On a side note, who here has leveled shantotto up high? Characters get some kick ass moves in the 80s, I just unlocked bind for shantotto and am enjoying using it combined with her instant cast spells, specificly the earth->aero->ice combo.

Also, anyone figured out how to unlock the AC cloud? I fought him couple times, is it just when cloud is both player 1 and 2 the second gets the AC skin? Is there a button to swap skins then?

I could have sworn that was Cosmos...
The characters call her that and the katakana read Kosumosu to me too....

You have to tack on the "pass the value to the consumer" taxes and tariffs for us folks in the states, no wonder it's cheaper there.

If you're going soon you might get lucky getting one in Akihabara in Tokyo.
I scavanged Osaka and got probably the last one on display in the basement of a Sofmap in Denden town.

Biccamera at Namba, Yodabashi at Umeda and a lot of other stores in the Dotonbori district I visited had the game in plentitude but that specific psp was sold out everywhere.
I consider myself lucky actually finding one.

Anyway, tomorrow on the way to work I can try to beat Chaos once again.
He's no joke at level 47...

Yar but she is also referred to as the goddess of the dawn in game. Not only that but just looking at the front of your game I can see the pic of her is borderline copy pasted from the drawing of altana on the front of the map guide.

I may be wrong though, may just be similar character with an extreme resemblance, if you know japanese and she isn't called that I'll take your word for it ^_^;


By the way, anyone who has gotten shantotto up to 90s, I've randomly unlocked her AM and can't figure out how the hell I do it. Totally randomly in the middle of a fight she'll go from fire, blizzard, aero, etc, to spells like flare, quake, tornado and etc.

I've noticed it does activate when shes in ex mode sometimes, break mode, and occasionally when her break is high enough to one shot the opponent. I have her at 93 now and am noticing her AM mode activates more and more often as she gets higher, so maybe it's just that the higher she gets she'll activate more frequently, then have it permanently at 100...

By the way shirai, if you can read japanese, could you please translate wtf the lv1-10 upgrade things are near the bottom of system upgrades...?

They're right above the songs you can unlock, I bought them for shits and giggles and am curious to know exactly what I got XD.

They're separate characters, but SE just didn't feel like designing new artwork for the special edition cover.
Just the same "good goddess" thing going on for them, though if you felt like stretching things, both Chaos and Cosmos reign from different realms, and since the game already has a story about characters from FF's I through XII getting summoned to do battle, it's not silly to think Cosmos and Altana could be one and the same, or related at the very least.

I honestly don't care for for the special cover because of the recycled artwork, I'd much prefer a Dissidia logo over a white background, though for NA we'll probably get Cloud - Sephiroth face-off.

Don't be mistaken, I cannot read Japanese.
I can read Katakana and Hiragana and have just enough understanding of the Japanese language to interpret what they are saying. ;)
If I can read 15 Kanji without the help of Furigana in total, that's really pushing the count.

However if I think what you mean, that is unlocking the levels you can set for your opponents in the versus mode.
Basically saying, in the versus mode you fight your opponent at the level you are at the default setting.
But unlocking that you can choose your opponent's level.
IE. your level 1 Warrior of light vs. lvl 100 Cloud or your lvl 93 Shantotto vs. lvl 1 Judge Gabranth and so forth.

The level of Shantotto's magic depends on her current Brave value. Having 0-2999 Brave will do Tier 1 spells. Having 3000-5999 will do Tier 2 spells. Having 6000 and more will do Ancient Magic.

The "level caps" will raise the limit of the level of the opponents in Exhibition mode. Ordinarily their level is anchored down in proportion to yours and won't go higher than 50.

Also, Cosmos is not Altana. She's Dissidia's only original character. Considering Altana still has yet to reveal her physical appearance, if she has any, there's also no basis for proof in this matter.

By collecting the Cosmos and Chaos reports viewable in Museum mode, some more of the backstory is revealed. It is hinted that Cosmos could be the wife of Cid of the Lufaine. (The faceless Cid from FF1 who also narrates Dissidia.)

Nonono not that one I figured that out.

The one near the bottom that is 1-10, not 1-100

BY THE WAY

I've figured out a decent way to quickly and efficiently level any character fast. Here's what I do.

Go to vs mode, set Exdeath as the opponent. Set him up to level 100, and set the other two options above and below to 9/9 each.

This sets exp bonus almost to 2x by itself, toss in the chocobo 2-3x bonus occasionally and leveling on monday for another 2x, you get sick exp.

Exdeath is pretty gimp, all his big attacks are predictable and avoidable (generally)

As soon as he does his teleport move dodge it, get up close and hit him with your hardest hitting move while he's immobile. You'll generally pull off 6-7K exp per hit, 11-12K exp per ex mode hit.

I generally pull off 4-5 levels a fight. Downside is your ap is really gimp by the time you hit level 100
