Dissidia: Final Fantasy

I really like how they incorporated the overdrive system from Final Fantasy X into Dissidia.

Wouldn't it be cool if we could upload our IP address from Final Fantasy XI and use our own characters in that game!? 8^D hahahaha.

That'd be sweet but impossible unfortunately. Our Characters will probably be far too much EPIC WIN! =D

you probably shoulda suggested that months ago when if they hadnt thought of it they could have added it in as something extra to do.

Hahaha well who knows, it could be a downloadable feature. I just thought of it earlier today sadly! ]: Maybe we should make a QCDN Ballot about it . . . give it off to some podcasts, have everyone sign up for it and force it on SE?! :D; . . . I don't know.

I wonder how many characters are gonna be released . . . at first I was only assuming 1 bad guy 1 good guy from each FF game, but I think I've seen Seymour as one of the characters? Maybe . . . which means there'd be 3 characters from FFX. Could just be my mind playing tricks on me though.

I like the lock on targeting system rather than just being a pure fighter. Looks very KH-esque.

Geez, they should just renamed the game Final Fantasy Budokai Tenkaichi. Since when can Final Fantasy characters fly? I'm sure everybody would've liked to know how to do that earlier, instead of relying on airships the whole time. Seems like theres a severe lack of combos too, or the person playing never learned to execute more than three.

Advent Children

Advent Children

The only thing close i recall seeing in that (only saw it once) was near the end, but that was more like a chain/combo throw of cloud.

Sephiroth vs Cloud. Wut?

Cloud was leaping. Sephiroth flew, but thats because he's Clouds imaginary friend..

Onion Knight vs. Cloud of Darkness, anyone?

And let me just echo the opinion that I am SO glad this isn't just another FFVII orgy-fest. One can only watch Sephiroth cut through shit so many times before it becomes old hat. I mean... Ultimecia just looks Bad-ass! And so do the other villians, who cares about Sephiroth!

As for VI, I'm hoping for Celes. Girlfriend could cut a bitch... perhaps even a glowing, demi-esper bitch <_<

Ok, the Onion Knight was freaking bad ass. Swapping jobs, then going classic FFIII and selecting Shurikens with the Throw command? Sage at the end? So freaking awesome.

As for the whole flying thing, if you can assume these people can conjure fire and ice from their fingertips, how much farfetched would flying be? Maybe they're just using Float? >_>

I personally liked the way they showed the 'boss' battle in Advent Children. I mean, they obviously couldn't be standing to one side while the boss stood on the other side and traded blows. If it's gonna be a big fight like that, it's gotta be dynamic. And hell, I want my characters hopping off of scaffolding and leaping thousands of feet into the air, dammit.
Like I said, if they can create fire just by thinking about it, I expect them to fly too. During lots of OVerdrives or Weapon Skills or what have you, they've been seen to defy gravity (And logic in general). Just gotta remember that it's a video game world. Why not fly? xD

Both videos pretty sweet, I can see each character using their limits/special moves like they did in their main FF title, Zidane selecting from the menu, needing to hit R1 along the bar for Squall, menu for Cloud, etc. I'm loving the footage so far, Tidus doing Blitz Ace like in X, and selecting the shuriken from the list for the FFIII Onion Knight/Ninja.

Onion Knight changing jobs for special abilities is pretty cool actually. The flying around still seems pretty retarded though. I guess the reason it bothers me is because many of the Final Fantasy game has someone that falls down a cliff/tower/building/chasm, that either need to be caught by another character, or are removed from your party. Cid in 4 falls(well, jumps) down the entrance to the Underworld to explode a bomb to cave it in to save the party. Celes falls and catches a ledge, needing to be pulled up by Locke in 6. And again, when Terra loses her esper powers and falls while guiding the Airship, being caught by Setzer. Not to mention 6s entire ending of the escape could've been circumvented if all the characters could fly. 7, hello ending where they need to call in the airship to fly out of the Northern crater, and when Cloud catches Tifa when she stumbles off the edge from all the shaking. 8, well, if you can defy a gravitational force, you should be able to defy a lack of one, meaning Squall shouldn't have had to rescue Rinoa when she was jettisoned. 9, I think I remember Zidane catching Garnet at some point when she fell off something. That games pretty much a blur though.

Nevermind that almost every game has pitfalls infront of treasure chests at some point in time. Limit break style attacks, flight doesn't really bother me so much, because they're supposed to be abilities called on in dire situations that give you super human attributes for a short while. But flight during normal attacks? Well, thats just stupid. Unless ofcourse, the character already showed the ability to fly, like Terra in her esper form, or Sephiroth because he's a figment of Clouds insanity.

Sephiroth is a figment of cloud's insanity? O.o then why do other people see him? XD

Try watching the final fight again. There are certain parts where cloud is flying D:
