Movie District 9

Spoiler:
Well in the movie they said that the aliens that were abandoned on earth were more like the "worker" class with no intelligence to think for themselves and basically they just follow orders, that leader ship seemed to have died off by assumed disease.
For me it seemed like christopher (and his friend that got offed) were the last remaining prawns with the intelligence for leadership, but they had to keep it on the down low as not to attract attention from the MUA. Of course chris' son would be as smart being that christopher raised him and taught him everything.

When the MUA were handing out evictions, vicus even notes that "careful he seems to be a sharp one" obviously acting as if he was not used to seeing an intelligent prawn.

So in that collection of movie notes, it makes sense.

All right, that makes more sense. All those details were said when I thought I was gonna barf all over the theater, so I missed alot >.>

Movie was good, but every single character was a fucking idiot.

Spoiler:
Seriously, would any of you have kept that cell phone after the first time you used it? I don't really feel like going off on all the other stupid shit people did, I'll just get another head ache.

Unfortunately, we can say how we'll think that we'll react to a certain situation all we want, but until any of us are actually put into that specific situation, we can't say anything with 100% certainty.

Spoiler:
I liked the movie a lot, the shooting scenes especially. For some reason I still felt like there was something lacking at the end though. I probably just expected it to show Christopher come back to the planet in the mothership 3 years later or something; though it probably didn't help that I missed the beginning.

Best movie of this summer by far

Spoiler:
I expected it to be like 28 days later, or some independence day type movie. I went into it without really reading anything about it so yeah. Totally blew me away, the portrayal of the aliens was awesome. I thought to myself, you know a movie is doing its job when you feel for hideous bug like creatures. Also, i would not be surprised if this is exactly how humans would treat foreign beings. Anyone think theres a sequel?

They said they would like to do a sequel named "District 10" if this movie does well enough. That is what my friend heard.

Good movie. The special effects were over the top but fit pretty seemlessly into the movie. I like that there was a bit of a plot/social commentary, but I would've settled for a Braveheart re-enactment with Prawns and Robots.

So the general consensus is District 9 is a good movie to watch? For those who have watched it, is it gory or scary in anyway? Is it fit or not fit for children under the age of 10?

Definitely not for children lol.

LOL need to get a baby sitter for the weekend then ^^b

It was a good watch but it was surprisingly formulaic and predictable for a movie so "different."

The aliens weapons were cool but they were a very small part of the movie really. It also took a LONG time to pick up. I'd have liked it if they put more time into the end of the movie and shave some of the build up if needed in order to do that.

But really, this movie is Blood Diamond with aliens instead of black people.

Its not scary, but its definitely not for kids. There is a lot of gorey kills, not like over the top with blood spraying the screen or anything, but you definitely see a lot of fast shots of people blowing up.

Good movie :) finally a good movie this summer lol
