Don't be a white mage if...

Actually, THF is probably one of the lowest on my hate list. A THFs main damage is from SATA, and Haste doesn't boost that at all. True, he'll get more TP faster, but a THF should be getting TP plenty fast anyway, and he'll still have to wait for his SC partner unless he's doing solo WSs.

Anyway, my usual haste order:

-NIN or WAR/NIN (Always, always, always haste NIN blink tanks)
-WAR, DRK, RNG, SAM if he does solo WSs.
-All others.

I might be forgetting a job or two that can be hasted at the same level as WAR, DRK, and RNG, though.

My reasoning:

As far as I know, WAR, DRK, and RNG are the only DDs that don't rely on "outside" sources for damage. DRGs have wyverns, SAMs need someone to SC with, THFs use SATA, etc. Giving one of those people Haste doesn't help as much, because only a portion of their total damage is improved. For example, if you Haste a DRG, only the DRGs melee damage gets improved, wyvern damage is the same and doesn't give as much as a boost as Hasting a DRK would (DRKs usually outdamage DRGs when not including wyvern damage).

However, I rarely follow a straight order, that's just a guideline. I usually haste whoever needs the most help getting TP for the SC.

Not to start a Drg/Drk war, but I have never been outdamaged by a DRK, even with my wyvern not out. Don't knock us down the hate list. Plus, I'm usually the one waiting for thieves to catch up to me in TP.

Not sure if that is what you meant to say...or if you typo'd..but Sethala was talking about HASTE. I have a NIN/WAR tank, a DRK and a DRG in my static. I haste the NIN first then the DRK...then the DRG if/when I can. The DRG just builds TP faster than the DRK.

lol Ya, that was a type. Was supposed to say haste. Weird how those words look alike

Yeah, like I said, that's just a guideline I use while I'm still figuring out how the party works together. If the party is very SC-oriented I haste whoever needs the most help getting TP. If the SCs are more of a second thought, and the focus is on melee damage, I focus more on hasting whoever does the highest melee damage. Rarely will one set order work for everything, and I cringe every time I see a RDM talking about sticking to a Refresh order for every party - I know that I don't always need Refresh while playing as a DRK, especially when we're chaining VTs instead of killing ITs (I usually use only Absorb-AGI on VTs)

As a WHM(I would think this applys for BLM and SMN as well) if you are not casting spells you are medding. Stop bitching about it and get your ass on the ground.

With my SMN I have a little more room to wiggle with medding...I am a freak about juices and food so usually I come fully stoacked unless I am pushed onto the Chocobo.

I was going to level SMN for the pure fact of having the avatars and from the start of the game thats what I wanted to be...needless to say I fell in love wiht WHM.....anywho...if you don't wanna HAVE to heal as much and for as long....sub SMN. With a SMN sub and my Pluto's Staff, and sometimes with juices I am an MP machine! :D

As far as WHM melee...PLEASE...<You can have this.> boot from <Party>!
(that goes for RDM melee post 30 as well)

Well I have SMN and BLM as possible subs for my WHM and I must say... BLM sub allows me to actually stay up and not requiring rest longer thanks to the Conserve MP Trait. At first I lvled SMN thinking it would be a more extreme version of WHM with that subbed, but I was very very very disapointed. I finished SMN sub solely for HNM purposes in terms of the Garuda Aerial Armor.
