Hey all-

Got my FFXIV running about 90 minutes ago, went through all the registrations etc, and finally got in game. Except something was off ... my onion helm and asuran bangle were missing >.>;

I tried to track my steps, and eventually realized that prior to cancelling my FFXIV BETA service, I had registered both items to that (instead of the retail version). I suggest you not do the same thing ^^;

Oh, and watch the opening movie if you haven't, it's pretty neat.

Mmmm doesn't sound like it, but thanks anyway. That looks like recovery of items you had during beta.

Yeh I'm guessing I did the same. Kinda silly how that wasn't written on the sheet of paper that the onion helm key comes on. I don't really mind too much seeing as it is so freaking ugly I don't think I'd even want to equip it even while weakened...

Was tempted to ring up and explain though, but it just seems like more hassle than it's worth. No doubt if they did give me a key I'd have to give the item to a newly created character anyway.

TLDR: Fuck it, I did the same, it's not worth the hassle for an ugly piece of gear.
 
Yeah, it's really just a convenience thing IMO. Plus I didn't want to have to delete my character and recreate it only to find I can't use the same name >.>;

No you should be ok. I deleted my character to see if it was a glitch and then remade it again with the same name. That's if you want to.

Oh, that's interesting. Thanks for the info. Frankly I'm not sure I care enough to contact SE, have them re-activate my codes, delete my character, re-enter the codes, re-create my character, and re-level up to 3/3 though - .-
 
Yeah, the hat doesn't seem worth it imo either. I seen everyone wearing the hat yesterday when i first logged in and the place looked like a circus. I wasn't able to get my hat either, I don't know why though. I never registered my keys to anything and when I tried under select service > FFXIV > add service, after I typed in the keys it told me my keys were invalid. So I may not bother unless I'm doing something wrong here and went to the wrong place to insert the keys?

How much time does the hat reduce your weakened time anyways?

Not quite sure. It could reduce it to 1 second and I still probably wouldn't put it on haha. I'm not sure what SE was thinking when they made it to be quite honest. The goggles, armbands and herme's shoes all look semi decent. But that hat looks a hot mess.
 
Pssh, don't be hating on the Onion Helm, Onion Knights fucking rock (woo FFIIII, Dissidia and FFT PSP), and it looks better on Lalafell anyway.

Sorry you didn't get your shit though.

The Herme shoes are decent. Only works once every 24 hours for only 15 mins apparently though. I used mine yesterday and I moved much faster. Quicken also comes back after you fight a monster too when it apparently wears off while you're fighting the monster, so you reget that quicken during that whole 15 mins time frame.

It seems like they automatically linked my FFXI and FFXIV account too because I tried to link the two together before in the settings but didn't see FFXIV in the link option, so that's the only thing I can think of for what they've done in order for me to find the herme shoes when I checked in my inventory.
 
I feel bad for the people that linked their FFXI accounts and transfed ther FFXI character name.... only to have the Server name you were from forced upon you as a last name

Claudhert Quetzacotl would piss me off every time i saw it. I perfer the much shorter and easier to type names out for /t's
