What i'm saying (or trying to say) is that we should at least be aware of their nature and culture, and accept it when they react in a way we see as inproper... rather than flaming them, insulting them and embarassing them.
This person has a mule called Sephriot?
**ALARM BELLS RINGING**
Seeing that and reading all the posts that kind ofexplains what he is and why behaves like that. :nyam:

actually. It just turned into a debate.
I don't see how it's your right to tell someone
they're going nowhere in life, over a forum.
A little silly.
Anyways, I hope this thread is officially dead,
the link to the blog was funny,
I guess Rai is a little irrational.
PS:
Chat filters can make for a lot less
drama. I still vote for flame threads to get
locked, I don't see any point in
stirring the pot. Probably the last time
I post in one of these(^^')
[final edit]
I think this person is being
taken way too seriously.
This whole drama was taken a little
far, I can't believe it turned into a 5+ page
debate over one person none of us
care to know.
Well, i would recommend you start caring or at least start pretending to. Because whether you like it or not, around half of the FFXI population are Japanese.
That only works if their reaction is actually commonly accepted in their own culture as well though. Someone barraging /tells and even hopping on mules to continue the harassment isn't remotely the commonplace reaction in any culture. That is to say, I've never once had a Japanese friend go "Oh this guy checked me, gotta hop on my mule so I can scream at him". Maybe I'm just lucky though.
I am gonna go out on a limb here and say more than 1 person may be playing this account. I'm envisioning a younger brother or something. Thats usually where the biggest attitude comes from in Japanese families. Probably about 12 or so. Sometime before high school kicks his ass into shape.

She didn't persist on harassing Uzor because of a /check. She did so because of being kicked from the party. Not that i'm saying its justified, but i thought i'd clear that up.
The older one is always the ass. Never the younger one.
I accept that the JP might find someone using the /check function of the game to be rude. I can even understand the logic behind why they might find it offensive.
I just don't fucking care.
What's moronic is refusing to accept that in some cultures it's considered rude to do certain things, and that we may not grasp the concept or understand why.
You know what else is moronic, calling someone RMT in /say because the person is /anon, i was on my brd in a manteel. You and your friend go ape shit /checking me, now that is annoying. I was even nice enough to raise the 2 of you after you wiped to pallas, lol.
and an edit not to derail: check whoever you want, it's a game function. My ls is mainly jp, and they check me all the time, i just don't care. They don't if i check them either, except that one guy, ahhh what's his name it starts with an S i think? He used to hop on his blu and come ruin our exp in the mid 60's just b/c he hates NA's. We gm'd him a few times, god i can't remember his name for the life of me ; ;
Has been the biggest contributing factor toward the divide between players. For christ's sake, just the idea it's based on is offensive :/
