Its certainly not against the rules its just a pretty silly thing to do. We all know Urat sucks, its not like him being banned changed anything. Now we just don't have to deal with him anymore. Its only natural for him to still be brought up every now and then but i'd advise people to do more then stop posting if they can't manage to stop posting about someone with the wonderful personality of Urat.
 
Normally I don't post in FB which is why I comment earlier on the disconnect. In any event I wanted to hear his side of things before doing anything.

First, it wasn't an exit disconnect because he appeared in ruins for more than a minute and also we waited around for 20 minutes or so in party after the disconnect since he had the ???. Could be that his connection really went down for 20+ minutes like an ISP thing but it was by no means a connection hiccup. While people were saying it was force DC, I was the one who gave benefit of the doubt and said to wait before jumping the gun.

The chance he got drop is kind of low and he said he got a leather ring. I don't know for sure, just what he said. However, it would've been nice for him to send a /tell to one of us to at least show a sign of good faith. He says he already has the ring and can't get two, which just further sounds weird. Why would you ID something when all you can get is crap (if you indeed have the ring) and most everything else is worth less than the appraisal price (since most doesn't sell well on AH, so going by NPC price)? Probably a better idea to just tell the party leader or one of the other members of that run.

Now I don't know if he stole the r/e ring or not. I don't know if he really had the ring prior. All I know is he did disappear with the ??? item and did not make an effort to tell anyone when he did appraise it so they could get in on it. In the end, it's more the thought that counts type gripe. Some people were pretty upset about the ring, but it's nothing to lose sleep over. My suggestion is just be extra careful if you're doing an event with him.

Hm. Maybe, just seems doubtful at least on the emergency theory. If you are having an emergency, wouldn't you just leave without disconnecting? If it's that important, I'd just leave my character logged there. Now, if you have the time to disconnect, you could probably have the time to pass the ??? to someone or at least say you'll be back in a few hours something came up or whatever.

Did the boss drop anything? I was kicking myself in the head for accepting a Nyzul 40 run just right before you shouted you were 5/6 on an 80 run.
 
I don't know if the rate of ??? appraisal rate has changed. But I remember getting those from NMs in Nyzul and they did give us the the item pretty often. So I wouldn't say 'only a ???'. That's a chance of a very rare item.

In regards to this thread, it seems maybe some information from Dragonius is needed. I like to give the benefit of a doubt in terms of DCing, but sometimes they really are 'force DCing'.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't of made an effort to get everyone in whitegate just to appraise a Leather Ring. To tell you the truth, I probably wouldn't even remember anyone's name if it was just a pick-up group. I've d/c'd with a ??? Footwear from Simmy before and I didn't get flamed. Of course it wasn't on purpose but about time I got back in game (like 5 minutes), I could only remember the leader of the group's name. And when I did a /sea for him and he was already in the middle of no where. I wasn't going to track everyone down just to appraise this item and I wasn't going to waste it. So I appraised it and guess what I got!

Seriously though, ??? might not be "important" to everyone but theft is theft regardless (or as Trist would say, irregardless).

I find it highly amusing that people say things like "??? Items are serious business" when the culprit is someone they know. Whether or not his auto-translate /tell with "Bloodbead Ring" was faked, he logged off without so much as a word. If he DC'd, he could have said "I DC'd last night, you didn't have to flame me."

Double standards are fucking shady, and stealing items sucks, no matter how shit they are. I don't give a fuck whether it's Urat or Dragonius, neither of which I know, logging with a ??? item is fucked up.
