Dreams

...from what I know, dreams are when you're at a very deep stage of sleeping. If you don't dream, you're not getting as much sleep, or not a deep sleeper.

The comic I referred to about working in your dreams was supposed to be humourous, not accurate.

If you feel tired after getting real REM sleep, it means your sleep cycle was interrupted. REM sleep, when you dream, is seemingly vital to humans, as study groups deprived of only REM sleep but otherwise allowed to sleep the same amount of time as a control group become psychotic.

Oddly, but similar to many sci-fi writers making predictions, Asimov predicted this phenomenon years and years before moderns science ran studies, at the start of Incredible Voyage. One of the characters comments about pills that can let you get two hours of REM sleep (so to work 22 hours every day) but at the cost of horrible nightmares.

Anyway, real REM sleep is incredibly restful, despite your eyes moving around. and your brain being more active than in Stage IV sleep. The rest of your body moving around can be normal or abnormal. I'd have to check (don't know it off the top of my head like the rest of this, ironically) but I think the majority of people move little bits when asleep, and this is OK. I know some people who claim to not move at all, that any movement wakes them up, or that they "need to wake up to move".

Also, do you guys dream in color? I heard some don't.
I do, but it would be more accurate to say that I have memories of dreams in colour. Which is kind of scary. I have no idea if I'm actually experiencing the dreams in colour. I don't - perhaps can't - talk to anyone outside the dream during the experience. Whereas I can say right now to other people that I am seeing in colour. ... Well, I could if they were awake. It's kind of 4.43am here.

Not sleepy, so writing about sleep. Huh.

Are colourblind people still so in their dreams? I wonder if those who have gone deaf or blind or mute ever regain those senses in REM sleep.

About my Chasing dream I never seem to be running, and I always seem to be with someone else, hiding and being sneaky trying to avoid the person chasing me.

I get very very weird dreams when Im ill though or at least I used to, I used to dream that things became incredibly huge, and I think there was a huge huge ball or car (One of the two) in a square box bouncing off the sides, everytime it did, the box and the object got smaller and smaller.

Well I busted out about 5 different dreams last night, I did it by every time waking up, keeping myself in the mid phase between sleep and consiousness(sp?), but during the dreams I couldn'y take control, and after everyone I would say FUCK I forgot to. Tonight is a new night perhaps.

I do remember this one dream, was totally insane >.>, a very good read if you are bored, and even if you aren't ^^

There I was, with my aunt Susan (I have several aunts as well as uncles), my grandparents, and my dad. Oddly enough, my mom or other immediate family was not there. Those are the only specific people I can remember.
So there we are, climbing down this huge dirt cliff. Looking up, all you saw was sky and cliff. At the bottom an extremely expansive lake... As far as the eyes could see.

In the dream, it seemed like we had come here to just have a good time swimming. (IRL - at family reunions, the entire family would drive to my great uncle's pond and have a huge cookout, fish & swimming type thing...) (No, fishing and swimming were not in the same place). IRL aside, after we were done swimming around, we had to leave, but the cliff seemed far too much of a pain to have to climb to leave.

At this point, we all climb into a canoe type raft-like boat that happened to magically be there. Grandparents start paddling and BAM, we find ourselves in the middle of a marsh. Tall trees, and the type of imagery you'd think of when someone says "Swampy underbrush." So we slowly begin our way in and notice alligators everywhere - approaching our rafty thing.

We're all terrified until some Gorilla shows up and leads us what seemed like 1000 yards and yet 10 feet all at the same time - out of this swamp/marsh.

Once again, expansive lake is surrounding us with the marsh to our back, and we can see a nifty ass little town that you might would think was made of building blocks or linkin logs. Of course this town is jutting out on a peninsula and we head that way.

At this point, my memory is a little fuzzy - but I do remember I begin flying in the raft by myself, and then landing back in the water - just to have my family once again riding in the raft.

So now we are all in the town, and everyone scatters - and I find myself inside this fat ladies house. I remember looking in the cubbards(sp) only to find a 2 lb bag of sugar, and undersized doors/windows throughout the house.

-I woke up- Nooo0oo000!
If I was high, I blame it on my roommate. I think these kind of experiences are why people smoke pot?!

Okay, last night i had a dream i was being chased by a bunch of scene kids with a friend of mine all over the place in some random neighborhood. They're were trying to kill us, and we took refuge in some old mans house. Fucking freaky.

I had 2 spider dreams..and I hate spiders.

One of my dreams i was walking in a forest, and I see these 2 spiders playing with each other, then they look at me, then other spiders start walking out behind the trees and start ganging up on me..and I start screaming and run away. Then I woke up lol

My 2nd dream was I was on my bed...trying to sleep..and these giant..I mean GIANT (same size as me probably) red spiders crawled under my bed and I freaked out and I woke up.

I hate spiders >__>
