So, here I am, kicking ass as a DRG in a crawler's nest party. I do so much freakin damage the tank (PLD) is having a hard time even with a good SATA. we're getting steady chain 5s with a great DD setup, thf, drg (me), drk and trigger happy blm, we keep killing ALL of the mobs so the puller has to go up to the tunnel leading to the sac room to get mobs. Raked in 6k in just over an hour. I'm feelin pretty cocky, oh man, i am da kat. I'm thinking to myself this party kicks so much freakin ass. Then i hear this from the DRK.

"Man Mar, why do people even play DRG, you guys are so freakin WORTHLESS in a party, you do like, NOTHING! I don't even know why we invited you, all you're doing is leeching our xp. your stupid dragon is doing more dmg than you are."

rewind to the part where I did a 309 dmg double thrust followed by a wyvern breath of 89 then jumped then high jumped for over 100 more dmg, taking a mob's hp down by half single-handedly and generally outdmg him in every way shape and form.

Ahem *pauses dramatically*

I think to myself that this guy must be freakin BLIND. Then the rest of hte party starts AGREEING with him! The pt leader says "well, I only invited cause she was the only one seeking" THEN he said, "oh, there's a RNG seeking" and booted me out of the party.

I kinda expect people to call a DRG a "Place filler" or "worthless" before partying with one. I used to think the same thing before I started playing it and saw firsthand what DRGs are capable of withthe right gear. But COME ON PEOPLE! Once they see me in action usually they lose that mentality, at least for a while.

so yeah, that just kinda pissed me off
 
Well I just found it funny that he said your wyrven did more dmg...
Just like it would be a bad thing lol I mean seriously when you get a Dragoon you kinda get the Wyrven aswell so don't complain on it doing dmg lol. People don't think about it but wyrvens do good dmg and so does the Dragoon and together they are really good but people always miss out on the wyrven!
 
You sure it wasn't sarcasm? A crawler's nest dark knight isn't exactly hot stuff...especially in a party like that with a thief and dragoon.

lol, he was hitting for 45-55 WITH berserk and missing half of his hits. He did a WS like once every 2-3 fights for like 40-80 dmg. I did at LEAST one WS per fight if not two for 150-300 dmg depending on TP + a wyvern breath of usually 50-80, but sometimes like 10-20 with a bad element choice. I was hitting 50-55 before berserk, 55-70 with berserk and my wyvern was hitting 10-20 per hit. Adding those two together with the low end figures (60) I beat out his high end figures (55) every time, plus my weapon had a lower delay than his and i missed a whle HELL of a lot less than him. If anyone shoulda been booted it was HIM hahaha. Oh well, if people want to give off a n00btacular display of blind n00bality and suctification that's their problem.

Oh, the Tank DID stand up for me pointing out that the mobs were facing me rather than him half the time, but no one listened to him.

they all agreed with him and I was booted out of hte party because the leader saw that a RNG was seeking.

WOW shitty dark, put his name up here. Crawlers and crabs are my favorite targets as dark because they pretty much sit there and let me thump on them.
i remember doing 70-90 in CN when i passed through there. But i always knew who was doing more damage than me. It's not that hard to gauge when you are doing more or less damage than someone.

I'd probably have to say the DRG would probably be a better choice for DD pre 50 or DRK, but both are pretty much bottom of the barrel.

After 50 DRK gets to open and close distortion, which everyone knows is THE ws passing through the first 60 levels or so. The damage bonuses start to add up and with full set of acc gear a DRK can keep up TP with any melee DD excluding SAM.

Before 50 there really isnt much a DRK adds over any of the other melee. SAM can do multiple WSs a fight, DRG builds tp faster, War gets the tp and does nice damage. The sole thing that keeps a DRK in the game before is the power numbers when it hits.

Now before 50 souleater is a skill than can be used through it duration as long as the PLD is keeping good hate, that boosts hits up to 150-200 a hit.

In your case that guy and the members of your pt are morons. I actually partied with a few DRG's at that level with my thf or pld and was impressed at thier numbers.

The reason both jobs will always stay at the bottom is because of noobs like this kid who think just cause they hit hard they can slack off on getting gear. DRGs get a bad name for the same reason, but with the mentality that they can always say thier dragon is hitting also.

I know that my friends who play DRG thourughly enjoy thier time as DRG, as much as i enjoy my time as DRK.

It's a shame our jobs get ruined by morons.
 
This kind of DRK always make me laugh ... But it really sucks that the leader was stupid enough to agree to this crap. Names plz.

Lol, replacing a DRG by a RNG in a DRK, THF, SATA buddy setup ... hmmm, is just screwing the SATA imo ...

I am one of the few poeple that think all jobs are good. They all Stand out in one way or another. Sure, some are better than others, but I can name somethin good about every job out there.

War Can be a tank or a damage dealer with some equipment changes here and there.

Mnk Stupid amounts of HP, Chakra gets rid of certain Status effects, mad countering, and Chi Blast is the Fastest Ability in the game.

Blm We just kick ass. I love playin as a blm, it's soooo fun.

Whm I don't think I need to explain here.

Rdm Refresh bot anyone?

Thf the saving grace of a Nin tank. Massive amounts of hate control.

Nin Allow for parties to do well without a healer. Awesome Subjob. Dual Wield is cool

Sam They can skillchain alone without an Icarus Wing... wow

Drg Big nasty spear. Jump and High Jump and Super Jumb do the same amount of damage as a solo weaponskill on the lvl with the ability, plus a Wyvern. Massive amounts of damage.

Brd um... yeah

Pld Best tank in the game imho.

Drk OMG Guillotine hurts sooooo bad...

Rng Slug shot is still better tho

Bst for those lonely days when you can't find a party

Smn Buffs buffs and more buffs. They can also solo just about anything.

Most of those jobs also have other things that are good about them, those are just highlights in my opinion. Anyone that tells you that <random job> sucks, is a moron and not worth your time to play with. All jobs have their use. I mean, it's ok to have favorites, but that dosen't mean the rest of the jobs suck.

Well, Just to put it out there, Super Jump causes no dmg and just erases all enimity which is awsome in its self. Most ppl think the more DMG the better but.....the more DMG the more aggro you take away from the tank. As a DRG I can cause as much DMG as I please and even voke to save a life then super jump it all away.

I make the best Trick partner a THF will ever have. I have some pretty awsome SCs at my lvl with RNG, THF, and SAM. And, I still do my fair share of dmg by far.

In the end, it all depends on the person playing the job on how well that job will preform. I mean....when it comes to DD that is. If all a DRK does is cast spells and have the RDM refresh him/her all the time or if a DRG doesnt wear any accuracy gear/food, then what good are they?

So.....yea...it all boils down to the person. ^^-b

That sort of party makes me sick, and it has always been my policy that the minute someone starts saying stuff like that, I disband and let them suffer. I am not so ruled by my experience points that I will deal with being degraded for the sake of getting them. When you take DRG that high, it isn't something you are 'Just playing around with' (in most cases anyhow, don't see too many people take DRG to CN and still just play around), it is your job. You chose DRG, you aren't lvling it for a sub, you're not just messing around with it while you wait for stuff to sell. . .

Drg is a job based on tradition, honor, and respect. I actually find it rather distressing that these new, low level DRG do not salute their fellow DRG's. It was something I learned early in my career, and nothing brings a smile to my face faster than seeing two DRG saluting each other.

What happened in that party is exactly the type of idiocy that mainjob DRG's deal with on a daily basis, which is why any DRG worth his salt has very good gear, we have something to prove. We want to show Vanad'iel that we are not a worthless job, we have a very specific place in a party, and even if we can't crank out damage like DRK, we also can do massive damage WITHOUT pulling hate; something that is indispensible to any good party. It is of my personal opinion that if you get into a party like this, disband immediately, tell them why, put your flag back up and walk away. If they don't want you, you don't need them.

Personaly i think if you are in a party you should be open minded and try to play to the best of your abilities regaudless of job. SE didnt make DRG useless. Stupid people made it useless.
 
Yeah, it sounds like that party leader was a real moron. So was the DRK.

No one should boot another party member unless it's obvious that the party is suffering and that member is the cause of the problem (see my thread on Leibfrid as an example of a weak member). You really should post the names of the members on here so we can all /blist that person (or at least be wary of him).

This person that you talk about Mar is a complete moron and the leader also sucks for dropping you for a RNG. Please put their names up, or tell me in PM so I never party with these people. If anything the leader should have booted the DRK for the RNG. Its a shame that both DRK and DRG get a bad rap, but I think DRG get it worse. I know some cool DRKs, so certain people like Meeze do not apply to my sig.
 
Atleast u didn't get booted for not having a 2 million gil body armor?.Note i did have assault jerkin and all that accuracy gear... but fags like oldsmobeast can't get enough in RL ,so boot ppl to feel in control for a second.So i guess that drk was just retarded fool who doesn't know about another job.
