This might seem like a silly question, but which is better to TP in: 15 attack or 3% haste?

Seriously? Isn't this a no brainer?

Or you could just answer the question.

According to my calculations, dusk beats kote by about a 1% DPS bonus, not counting faster weapon skills. But I like to verify. Dusk, right?

Dusk/+1 or Koga/+1 at Night.

Haste for Ninja isn't only about 'DPS', reducing your Ninjutsu recast timers should always be considered.

Well, technically you could macro in dusk for Ninjutsu, but the compilations from a haste set can't be ignored. This on its own you won't see much difference, however compiled with a full haste set it's a needed piece.

You make it sound like you need a full haste set to be useful, you really don't.

Haste is probably one of the best stats in game and in a vast majority of situations, they trump any other piece for TP. That being said, the effect of haste actually has increasing return while others have diminishing return.

Sorry, didn't mean it to sound like that. I meant that the more haste you have compiled in a full set, the more noticeable the difference. One piece of haste you won't see a vast difference, a full haste set you will.

In general terms, if you are given a choice between the two, one or the other, and you chose O. kote, then you aren't going to be able to macro in an item you do not have.

If you have both, then I really don't know what the point of the post is, see Langly's response.

Well, you can only wear one at a time.

As the other hand piece thread managed to conclude, Dusk to TP in, Nin Tekko+1 to Jin in. Okote and Koga Tekko (at night) are also good choices if you don't have Nin+1.

Slightly off topic but, how big of a difference is the movement speed with this gear on?

Roughly 12 percent decrease.

Unless you have spellcast don't bother with Koga Tekko +1. Unless you make a macro that has /clock on in it and you hit it before every WS.

This has to be one of the worst posts I have read yet.

It has already been made abundantly clear that this topic is about TP build hand items.

Regardless, compare the NQ Dusk gloves to the NQ Koga tekko.

Obviously at Night, in favour of the Koga, more Haste (4% to 3%), more Attack (6 to 5), more STR (12 to 0), no Movement loss (0 vs 12.5% decrease).

In every useful purpose, the Koga tekko are the better item. The +1 version increases STR by 1, and increases the activation by a further 2 Vanadiel hours (14 hours instead of 12 - or, the majority of a Vanadiel day).

Without factoring other reasons such as Ninja tool expertise, the cost of Dusk +1 versus Koga +1, there isn't a good reason to NOT use the AF2+1 hands. They're clearly the best TP building hand item a Ninja can use, during their hours of activation, and anyone who says otherwise frankly, does not know what they are commenting on.

If you have them, you use them.

Even if you don't have Spellcast, you can just make a second macro set for nighttime WS/TP for meriting, god forbid you might have to pay attention to the time during meriting.

On that note; Koga Tekko does not fucking exist. I've had Koga Tekko -1 for over one and a half years and I've never seen Koga Tekko drop.

It is about TP hand gear. Which is why after every WS he does, he can check the time using a /clock on macro. Not a very revolutionary idea.

And by the way, you don't use it because you're "not paying attention", you use it because when you're engaged you, believe it or not, can't see your game clock.

personally i used the ffxi plugin for firefox so i can see the clock on a regular web browser. since ive switched to chrome, i set a desktop item with some ffxi timer so i can see the time while im playing. its not that hard to get around.

First of all you say don't bother with KT+1 unless you have Spellcast, or unless you make a /clock macro. Now you say it's not a very revolutionary idea to use a /clock macro.

Good job contradicting yourself.

Everyone should use the KT+1, because it's not hard to do. It is in fact very easy.

The second part of your post has also nothing whatsoever to do with my original post you have quoted, since I said nothing about paying attention, Spellcast or /clock macros.

Your advice was, and still is bad, and if anyone finds it too difficult to switch to a superior hand item for 14 hours of a Vanadiel day, then perhaps this is the wrong game to be playing.
