essentially, EA is trying to buy out Take Two... which means if they get that company so many good games are going to shit -_-

Agreed, EA is a bunch of jerkfaces. And yeah a random VG board would be dec.

Take Two rejected their offer and don't even want friendly chats with them about being bought.

Thank god for that. Someone should do something about EA trying to monopolize everything like Bill Gates does with Microsoft.
 
hehe, ya title should be "Trying" but ya.. I'm happy Take Two was smart and more interested in being their own company so ya. They also know that GTA IV is going to boost their asses LARGE come it's release XD
 
EA recently stated that they realize they're total fuckups, and are changing their business model to dabble in game development less.

Electronic Arts has a reputation among gamers for swallowing talented game developers only to later turn them into excrement. EA CEO John Riccitiello knows it, and told Game|Life at DICE, "We at EA blew it, and to a degree I was involved in these things, so I blew it."

Developers fallen victim to EA’s previous mismanagement include the once great Origin Systems, Westwood and Bullfrog. "When I talked to the creators that populated these companies at the time, they felt like they were buried and stifled," Riccitiello said.

EA Sports is notorious for making small changes, sometimes the most significant of which is a roster update, every year to its sports games and selling them for full price. While that model may work for a select genre, it’s largely inapplicable everywhere else. EA may have figured that purchasing a developer for solely the IP would be a winning idea, but one that is now proven to fail without the adequate inspiration behind it.

"The command and conquer model," said the EA CEO, "doesn't work. If you think you're going to buy a developer and put your name on the label... you're making a profound mistake."

Such was the topic of Riccitiello’s talk at the DICE conference, informing listeners that he would put forth a "new model" of "how publishers and developers can work together in the future," hoping to avoid the mistakes of EA past.

I hope it works because EA has screwed up a lot of there games they have taken over.

Anyway, hoping this new business model thing with EA works.Hopefully we can start getting some good games coming.
 
hehe, to be fair, when EA does let a company work as long as it needs to to polish a game (I.E. Maxis with all its fun games) they create gold. So they should have learned this awhile ago when they saw how well it was working with Maxis :P
 
The one buying Take-Two better come up with a better offer than... 2 BILLION DOLLARS! Wth? That company must shit bricks of gold...
 
EA is only trying to get more money because of the Activision Blizzard merge, they can't stand being 2nd to a company that has GH, WoW and so many more awesome games. Most of which aren't sports titles, which EA likes to rehash each year to fill they're cash cow for the EXACT SAME GAME! ><

I would actually like to work for AB after I graduate from university in god knows how many years time... I might put in for a years worth of work experience during years 2 and 3 of my undergraduate degree... hmmm...
 
Activision needs to get their asses back on pushing the MechWarrior train.
