Elvaan Blm

So would +1-2 macc be better than a few int?

EDIT : I can't type today

No, because int does damage and also reduces resists. You'll have to ask someone else for exact figures though.

I'd suggest keeping a balance of int + elemental magic. Then if you happen to get some extra slot, get magic accuracy. My only magic accuracy comes from pieces that already have it in addition to int.

ele 324 & thunder spell, 120 int. If you use NQ errant houppeland and HQ errant slops you get the same INT, elemental skill. Granted, you still need a few e-peen pieces.

The fact that you use Witch Sash over Pent Rope makes me giggle like a little school girl. kekekekekekekekekekeke ^__________________________________________________^

With sash is for pro. We're talking about resistance in the thread right ? That's the best option. Inb4 enmity.

And @ Gohan, Magic accuracy greatly reduce the resistance to nuke. To give you an idea here is what the current tests show (by me and other people) :

if you int is < the monster +10 (=int<120 for fafnir I bet)

+1 Int ~ 0.9% resist rate
+1 magc accuracy ~ 0.6% resist rate

if your int is > the monster +10

+1 magic accuracy ~ 1% resist rate
The benefit of int decreases :
from +10 to +20 it's 0.42%
from +20 to +30 it's 0.2%
after that it's even worse

So basically, just because you reach the needed INT doesn't mean you won't see resists ; at this point use magic accuracy/elemental skill. As you see, depending on you int, Errant body or Morrigan is better than Weskit, Omega ring is always the best, so is witch sash, elemental grip etc. The hardest part is actually knowing the target's INT value.

I'd have to agree with Pchan that i would use Witch sash if i didnt have sorcerer's belt. While i do approve of -enmity gear, i dont sacrifice it for other stats. Enmitygear is more for longterm fights either way, and since im pretty sure Pchan doesnt do any of those on his blm, i really dont see any point at all as to why he should sacrifice 2m.acc and a chance at extra M.ab for it.

Any HNM that you need 320/120 build on would be ideal for -enmity. Short or long term fight. Any fight that you claim you don't need -enmity doesn't need the 320/120 build. This is even more so since you are using morrigans over errant which lacks -enmity. So your -enmity options are limited. Therefor +2 macc is useless if you're fucking dead.

Also if my calculations are correct you aren't using food? If not, lose the yigit feet and use goliard, lose the int earrings and use novio? You would gain 5 Mab 2 Macc and lose only 1 INT.

What HnM are you talking about ? Fafnir 10 minutes, Aspid 1 minute, KB 15 min. You don't have time to pull hate because you don't cast enough spells. Eyeballing you do 6 AM2 top on each BLM. And Goliard clog are shit because ... there is something called Nashira.

The only place where I'd worry about -enmity is Tiamat, assuming it's a long ass fight ~1H. But then again, I'm sure that even when stacking -enmity a BLM will need to erase its enmity by dieing. It alos depends of what kind of damage your tank take..

I would also use the witch sash over penitents. Honestly -3 enmity isn't going to make or break you if you have competent tanks. Neither is 2 macc for that matter, but it'll be more useful than -enmity since with good tanks you really don't need to worry about hate.

I bet you'd use a 320/120 setup on Kings, wouldn't you?

Another question. Magic Acc and Elemental skill. Are they equal. I have Igqira Weskit and RR cloak with 4 Macc and 4 Mab. I need the weskit to break 320 skill but I am trying to figure if 4 Macc is close enough to call it even.

Taken from wiki:

Magic Accuracy denotes the likelihood of a spell cast on a target not getting Resisted. Similar to a physical attack, status effect magic attacks can miss and result in a full resist of the spell. Elemental magic attacks are different as the target would still take damage but the damage dealt will be, at highest level of resistance, substantially smaller than normal.

Elemental Magic Skill lowers the resistance rate and spell interruption rate for Elemental Magic spells. It does not affect the damage of direct damage spells.

Dont sacrifice MAB for MACC. I will smack you with a chopstick if you do.

Elemental Magic Skill lowers the resistance rate.

What's the difference, beside the supposed spell interruption ?

Oh and it has been tested, there is none. 1 skill= 1macc, always.

If your Elvaan skill is 320+, what is your INT at? I am not minimizing skill or accuracy, but if you're sacrificing a lot of INT to get that 320+ skill, you'll wind up seeing a lot of resists.

My Int is somewhere around 105 Depending on what I sub. Few pieces of gear I still need to aquire. Goliard feet, Ixion back, and Snow rings. Which will give me another 5-6 Int to my current setup. (Plus I have 1 Int merit)

I havn't merited Elemental skill as of yet so I do not have 320 skill, But very very soon I will lol.

Let me list what I am wearing for nuke set. Just let me find it all lol

Main : Ele Staff
Sub : Ele Grip or Buggard strap+1 (+1 Int)
Ranged : Nadda
Ammo : Phantom Tanthlum (+2 Int)
Head : AF (+4 Int)
Neck : Ele Torque
Ear1 : Moldavite
Ear2 : Phantom (+1 Int)
Body : Royal Redingote (+5 Int)
Hands : AF
Ring1 : Diamond (+4 Int)
Ring2 : Diamond (+4 Int)
Back : Red Cape +1 (+3 Int)
Waist : (sp)Penents Belt (+5 Int)
Legs : Errant (+7 Int)
Feet : Elvaan RSE lvl 62 (+3 Int)

+39 Total Int.

This is what I was wondering.

If you can afford it, pick up a Prism cape (10MP 4INT), if not, pick up a Rainbow Cape and save yourself some money.

I want to get the Ixion one in the near future. Currently trying to horde my gil.

Then you're doing it wrong. Sell your Red Cape +1, buy a Rainbow Cape, and make 24k

My Int is somewhere around 105

105 INT is largely above the INT of most (if not all) of End-ame mobs. For info, except imp-type and soulflayer-type mobs, which have 110+ INT, NM or not, most will sit between 60 and 90. I found the int of some mobs here (http://robonosto.blogspot.com/search/label/magic).
Some Limbus mobs

Bardha 75
Pluto 82
Mountain Buffalo 60
Apollyon Scavenger 62
Gorynich 72
Kronprinz Behemoth 74

ZNM
Lil' Apkallu 60
Verdelet 115
Experimental Lamia 89
Mahjlaef the Paintorn 112
Cheese Hoarder Gigiroon 81
Vulpangue 78
Dea 62
Iriz Ima 70
Gotoh Zha the Redolent 92
Tinnin 85

So what about beastmen "kings" and HNMs? Bahamut ("The Wyrmking Descends") is reported to have 115 INT (from Studio Gobli, if you can actually find the documentation). (Bahamut is sentient, right? Check.) Also Jormungand is reported to have 120 INT (also from Studio Gobli). (Perhaps the example of Jormungand motivated the 120 INT figure?) Other than that, I have no other information.

Conclusion ? Stacking INT for the purpose of matching the "magic" 120 INT number doesn't improve your BLM in any way (beside obvious damage). Higher level mobs resist a lot, regardless of what INT you have.

There are 2 reasons for matching the target's INT

* First, check the damage formula for magic on the wiki. When you exceed the target's INT, MAB becomes twice as efficient. It's only beneficial on mob that don't resist.
* INT does reduce resist rates, but generally not as good as magic acc or skill. *If* you have less int than the mob +10, adding 1 int is like adding 1 magic acc or 1 elemental skill. *If* you have more int than target's INT+10, then 2 int=1mac=1skill.

For exemple if you have 70 INT and hesitate between errant body (10 INT) and weskit (5 skill, 5mab) , and nuke a mob with 90 INT, errant body will be better because it give 10 magic acc vs only 5 from weskit. However if you have 100 INT, it's different. Say you go nuke Tinnin, errant body is only 5 magic acc, just like weskit. In this case weskit is better.

conclusion : if you want to improve your BLM gear on endgame mobs get magic accuracy and skill gear first, and only stack int once you know you'll cap your resist rate.
