he was being sarcastic.
And yet there is nothing wrong with having more subtle blow if damage doesn't really suffer. If there was no reason to worry about TP gain in merit pt at all, there would be no reason not to use K club, or m. kris for TP gain. Yet, using those weapons in merit party is clearly retarded when the amount of tp given by those weapon clearly does more harm than good to the ability of the party to maintain a steady pace. Mobs might not be able to get more than 1 TP move off when all your melee have tp to ws the next mob down, but in those cases where they can't there's no reason why you shouldn't try to lessen tp moves done when you can if its not breaking the chain.
In the worst case for caring about TP given to a mob, you lose the chain because you take too long to kill it due to lack of damage from subtle blow gear or some silly reason. In the worst case for not caring about TP given to a mob, you die because of dispelga/paralyga/fang rush spam. The ws that the mobs choose to use don't have anything to do with being a "decent player."
If you're having a problem with mobs popping fast enough, I'd recommend a better camp where you aren't reaching the max already, or a better puller who knows how to pace the kills so you aren't breaking chain if you're killing too fast.
btw how's that guard skill coming along?
Sorry for the delay, I'm on a semi-break
Subtle Blow from 1 piece of gear and Kraken Club is a very big differance.
That's like comparing Bubbly Bernie and Vrtra.
Because like you said yourself, if you stack all the Subtle Blow you can find, dmg output will be hindered.
However, bad example coming up, last time I got my buffer back on pld the other pld off'd a KC.
Now, we were only 2 pld's a rdm and a brd, but that KC helped
alot.
So yeah, everything is situational.
But the +4 subtle blow from melee gloves wont really make or break anything.
I mean, have a war in that PT and the mob will get 100% tp after 2-3 good attack rounds from him alone...
And, say you have 4 melee's, all of them shouldn't WS on the same mob, that's how you loose a chain.
No, you as a player dont have much of a say when it comes to what WS a merit mob uses.
You can however be prepared for the worst at all times and if you play with a tight gang the wrong person wont get hit with *that* ws.
Sure, shit happens and that fang rush *can* kill you.
But there are alot better mamool camps than just outside the gate, where you dont have to fight wyverns at all.
They're not really good chain mobs.
I would ask SE to add a few pops in the good camps, but like I said, I dont merit anymore so I dont really care.
I gave up meriting with random noobs in gimp gear a long time ago, so no, it wasn't the pullers fault either.
As for the guard skill, I was fortunate enough to be allowed into a good shell, so my free time came to an end.
However in that shell I got further proof that it's not as tough as everyone thinks.
Even easier since phalanx 2.
Not gonna be able to keep up with the thread reading but to each is his own, or however that saying goes. (I'm not english/american.)
And since I wont be playing with you, use all the subtle blow you want

Not directed at you specifically Rhaddy.
Because in the end, gear isn't as useful as we like to beleive.
Gimp and/or less gifted people in the intelligence department still win just about any battle in the game, so why bother getting the best stuff when you clearly dont *need* it for anything?
But I aready spewed enough of this crap in another thread, better not get this one messy(ier) aswell
Happy merits ya'll ^^
