I had the sheer horror of being in a PT (a very long time ago) with Ethar in Yhoat. He was a SAM and our puller, he seemed to think our WHM was made of Mana and would not stop to rest because he wanted "UBER XP"
and he continued to swear, talk down, and use all caps when talking to us....
I think I ended up in the negative XP that day and we booted him from the party and got a new member and I did my best to forget about this guy, until...I was sitting in Jeuno LFP (this was after some months had passed) and I get a tell from Ethar saying "Hey need a party" Instantly I'm flooded with the painful memories of yelling at him to stop pulling we need to recover MP and I said No thanks I remember you from Yhoat you killed our PT due to your horrid pulling...
Then Ethar goes on some pleading trip about how he was a n00b back then and he apollogizes for everything that he did and is willing to make it up to me with an "uber pt". I, (believing that people never change unless under more extreme situations, a video game not being one of them) refused again and then had to dive for cover as the f-bombs started falling. He spammed my chat with ****you we dont need you you hack PLD...So he was number 5 to join the Aither B-list
Needless to say I dont like this guy...

next time you pt with Ethar and he goes out pulling too fast or when he's not the puller just disband him after he pulls. its full to see mobs eat up noobs.

Ok, Ethar is a cunt. I won't lie, I'm friends with him, rather, I try to be. I make fun of the fact that he didn't do shit to get his equipment, only steal, he seems okay with it. His only response is "They were dumb enough to give me the equipment in the first place.". Shit head. Never PT'ed with him, Don't want to.

So i usually spot out a target (Mainly Ethar), and kill them constantly even if I'm gonna get pummeled. He thinks I'm a bitch and a fag and all sorts of odd stuff because I don't know how to 1v1. Okay I'm getting slept by the Black Mages and /Brd's (but I have a Poison pot on), I'm getting the shit nuked out me, and he still has the nerve to call it a 1v1? Fuck off.

Honestly, that sounds like bipolar disorder. I know two people in the game who are bipolar, although one of them is on medication so I've only once seen that person blow up. The other person was going nuts at the slightest goings-on, and then would be happy and cheery 5 minutes later.

Ethar stole I *think* his O. Kote from Iman, a really nice JP player. Ethar ran across Iman with them several months ago, and managed to convince Iman that he was a very old friend from pre-NA release. Iman couldn't remember him, he has been playing since the JP release and knows a LOT of people, but finally gave Ethar the benefit of the doubt~ Ethar ooh-ed and ahh-ed over his Kote, and asked if he could try them on just once~ and thus goes the story. Iman never saw them again.

Ethar is teh ebil. He was, to my knowledge, suspended once for about a month back in May or so of 04, due to harrassing a female member of his LS at the time~ I have no idea how he came back. But be very careful dealing with him.

He did indeed rip off Iman. I know Iman. He is probably one of the nicest players I have met in this game. He was in a linkshell I belonged to a long time ago. Ethar stoled his Kote in the exact manner that was already explained. To be able to do something like that to Iman is 100% proof that you are indeed an absolutely disgusting individual.

I will never D2 somebody when I'm in the middle of an XP party, as I find its rude to them to have to break group and wait while I warp Joe Schmo.
I told him where I stand on D2'ing during pt's and he eventually offered me up to 10k to warp him.

well since u necroed a thread, might as well post here about yesterday
i xpted w/ him yesterday, seemed like a nice guy. i got d/c for a lil bit (hr or 2) and came back to find out pty was still there. i was gettin rdy to warp out when they said do i wanna pty again? y not right? they said ethar dropped from pty to do sumthing or w/e, so they ave me his spot and told me all about how he is a scammer and shit. 5 mins later he /tells me why the pty kicked him or sumthing like that, and i said i have no idea, i just got reconnected. then he started saying ur gay for taking my spot and shit, and all this other crap. i was trying to be nice, cuz i dont get pissed at any1, so i said i'll drop and give u ur spot back if ur gonna be a baby about it. then he kept sending me /tells, so i just blisted him.

Actually your half right. Ethar the character is played by two people, an older brother and a younger brother. The younger is about 12 and the older is a lot more polite than his sibling. Do not let that fool you though as they are both assholes and cons. I had the misfortune of having him on my flist (I lent him 1k gil, this was to keep track of him). This was also when i had first started out in the game, so it was a decent chunk of money for me then.
Later I ended up Joining Hyori's linkshell "SilentRage" where apparently ethar had joined, went "OMG HELP ME, GIVE ME GILZ, I WANT COOL ITEMZ" immediately followed by a quick boot from Hyori, who I would like to add is one of the nicest people and would rarely boot anyone unless they could manage to get her peeved.
After this I decided to put him on my /blist (first one too >.>) and never talked to him again. Although I do recall Ethar asking for money from Hyori and Hyori telling us in lschat "Wth does he need money for, he has a kote!!"
