Now i know that everyone loves bards for exp. I know that Most people love BRD,MNK,WAR,NIN,RDM in pts only. But when is enough, enough. Today i had an experience w/ 3 different asshats. Two were bards, and one was a ninja.

Their names were Xten(brd), Chemira(nin), and Jinx(brd)

Granted i dont know these people much at all, i know Jinx because she asked for my help in COP... But i dont know either of the other two at all. Sidetracking sorry. Btw No real SS of the events, so dont ask for em.

Anyways I seek up and get a pt invite from Jinx. I get into the pt and we were stuck w/ 4 for about 30-45 minutes. There were jobs seeking, however when i asked whats up, jinx replied w/ "I want the ideal setup." When we finally started getting impatient, Neogearx started offering people's names that wanted exp, one was a nin, one was a war etc etc. However we waited for a second bard, whos name was Xten. Prior to heading to nyzul isle, i decided to /sea all Xten, whos seacom stated the following "X2 bards ONLY, Experience points tooweak. I was like wtf? but ok lets do this. So we get there and start to exp, when Neogearx started having router problems. He had to go(nin). Exp was decent, not great. But decent.

So when the Nin had to go, Jinx said he had a nin replacement otw. Suddenly after about 5 minutes of waiting for the nin replacement Jinx decides he is going to leave as well... Mind you after 15 minutes of exp. He gives the Lead to Xten who doesnt speak the entire pt. My friend, a samurai and a very good one at that, almost capped sam merits(takumifujiwara) wanted exp, so i offered to Xten. Xten Laughed at the offer saying the following "Hell no, samurai too weak, WAR ONLY PLZ." I was appalled at this since first off we were sitting on our asses not doing anything, and secondly it wasn't like the samurai was a random samurai. He was a pretty good one.

Anyways so me and the war/nin decided to take off because of the elitist attitude. And we decided to make our own pt. We search for a Ninja whos name was Chemira. this is how the conversation went

Jyakotsu: Hiya {experience points} {party?}
Chemira: What is the setup? .....
Jyakotsu: Nevermind
Chemira: Thanks you just saved me from a big headache

So anyways, i /sea all chemira and he edited his seacom to "BRD ONLY"
btw this pt made about 25k/1.5hrs... It was a nice fun exp pt. And i cant complain about the speed, because it was fast exp.

So thinking i wouldn't have to deal w/ any of these these people anymore, i make a new pt. We get the Mamool camp in nyzul SP. And we get to see 2 people there, one happened to be Jinx. They were nowhere near formed yet, so we started pulling. I would pull w/ dia and the SMN would main heal. Anyways Jinx thought it would be funny to camp on top of us, since they formed shortly after us. Sleeping 3-4 mobs at a time(which is what brds do when pulling, i realize that). However Jinx started claiming/sleeping our claims that i diaed. She did it w/ a raptor and a wyvern that i diaed to claim. Which proceeded to whap me, almost killing me 2 times.

Now granted you all are going to say "OMG ITS GOOD EXP." But my flame on this issue are the following:

Even if you are a bard you dont have to be a dickhead while partying. Even if you think your shit doesnt stink, it doesn't give you a right to try to MPK someone when they claim a mob and it pisses you off. I am sick of elitests that think its ok to immediately ditch parties w/o warning or rep. I am sick of people thinking its ok to get in a pt then start making fun of the pt because it has a pld in it.

*edit* i was just informed that Jinx started a pt, invited one of my friends. Replaced a war w/ a nin... And replaced himself w/ a Whm. If you have such stringent requirements on pts, why would you replace yourself w/ a whm? Does that make you a hypocrite? I mean if you are that stringent on exp setups for yourself... why would you screw over a whole pt because you felt like not pting 20 minutes after its formed. That is not right. BTW the ninja that had joined that pt was Chemira. Who immediately Mijin gakured after Jinx replaced him/herself w/ a whm.
 
Sometimes it seems SE should just get rid of every job except cannon jobs...

You know theres a problem when only a handful of jobs are selected, no matter how much better another person is at say, THF or DRG.

It is sad because i know alot of Sams, thiefs and a few blue's that can out DPS Wars that get auto invites because they are cookie cutter.
 
It's sad the mentality people have these days. BLMs have to solo from the 60s on up, unless they manaburn or form own parties. People are disappointed when a PLD joins the party...

We shine in endgame, though. So it evens out.
 
I hate partying with Paladins because the Bard's usually a dumbass and gives everyone Mage's Ballad I & II. Well, assuming a Bard is in the same party as the Paladin. Paladin + Thief sucks, too, and that's coming from leveling Paladin.
 
Lol They don't know Taku that's why they didn't take him. Otherwise it's all a pile of shit to deal with people. People seem to not realize that any experience is better than none. People have forgotten that already that is why I am satisfied with my 10k/hr parties instead of looking for a set up that can get a great paladin merit.
 
EXP parties at 70+ sadden me now. Its hard for me to lvl my SAM now cause everyone wants cannons only. And god forbid I take my SMN out I'll be waiting all day unless ppl cant find a healer.

Cannons, although I like them myself, imo, have ruined EXP/merit party atmosphere for the majority of other jobs. I mean getting lots of EXP/Merits in a party is very nice, productive and effiencient but it sucks when other jobs gotta suffer because of it. If you like to solo that's cool for you but if you like the party atmosphere, good luck nowadays cause everything is CANNON CANNON CANNON. Yeah I like cannons myself but it sucks when I cant (As SMN) do my job like I want to or play like I want to.

I personally never understood that kind of mentality. I've been in fun Mire/Bhaflau parties with cookicutter set-ups. I've also partied with PLDs, BLMs and THFs on trees in the Mire or Rams in Lufaise where we had a skillchain and MB (gasp!). I enjoyed both and the EXP wasn't too shabby.

But to each their own - I'm not in the business of telling other people how to spend their game time.
 
As far as MNK is concerned, I consider it a for of divine justice for the hell the job suffered early on in the game with invites because of people thinking it did shitty damage.
 
I manage to get lv.30 DRG to lv.75 in 1.5~2months

Waiting For Party nowaday get you nowhere, especially jobs that is uncannonable. i believe JP nowaday willing to pted with NA players, i have no troubles getting pt setup with JP players on it


and i know how you fell jya, /comfort but there will always people like that out there. Just get as much exp as you can, and try not to compete with them, if they sleeping 3-4 mobs all at one time, sooner or later, one or 2 will get resisted, and their pt wipe... well too bad for them.
 
What level is the party by the way?

i mentioned that it was in Nyzul isle Mamool camp. IDK and it was a 25k per 1.5hrs pt. I guess i should have specified it was a lvl 75 pt... but i would have assumed it was when you can produce that much exp.

Since when is it wrong not to invite random people into a pickup party? For all you know, the leader could have merited with some of them before and they did a shitty job so he decided not to invite them again. There's nothing wrong with only wanting a 2x bard party. His seacom didn't say "HEY JYAKOTSU IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH ME, YOU'RE A DOUCHE" or anything offensive. It takes a lot of time and a lot of exp to be completely merited, especially now when more and more people have multiple jobs at 75. There's nothing wrong with wanting to aim for top-notch exp/hour. Yeah, sitting there waiting for half an hour or more isn't fun either, but if there were that many people lfp and you were that annoyed, you could have simply disbanded and made your own party.

Old news, there was already a similar flame against Chemira. God forbid someone actually ask what sort of party they're getting themselves into.

At competitive merit camps people tend to get, well, competitive. If there's a shortage of mobs to be found, people are going to attempt to steal. Sure, it's not the nicest thing to do, but there are ways to prevent it. If you pull multiple mobs, keep that shit red and keep hate on it so you can steal it right back. If you and your party sit around with your thumbs up your asses and let all your mobs get stolen, tough shit.

True, the people you mentioned weren't exactly polite, but this bitching and moaning over merit parties is getting out of hand. (That last part isn't specifically at you, Jyakotsu, it's directed at the whole community.)
 
I got Jinxed!

I'm the friend mentioned in the edit. Here's what happened on my end.

Monday night, I had a merit party with Jinx. Wasn't bad, but not great, cause it turns out Jinx is on the phone the whole time and distracted. Jinx tells us this, then a bit later "I'm still on the phone, I'm going to leave, bye".... Okay, so we replace after a bit and I make a note to watch out for this person somewhat.

Tonight, I log in late after work, so I didn't hear about what happened with Jya. I only have a couple of hours, and want some merits so I seek on WAR. I put all my jobs in the /seacomm, and specify that if you want MNK,WAR, or NIN, I expect a BRD. I'd be happy to do the other jobs w/o one just for a chance to use them.

So, I get an invite from Jinx. After asking if he/she is expecting any phone calls, I accept and head out. I get to camp and join to finish off two mobs. At that point Jinx /tells another WAR that his rep is there, a NIN. The WAR leaves, and Chemira is invited. Suddenly Jinx says, "my rep is here" points to a whm, and disbands. Immediately, Chemira does too and Mijin Gakures. So after two fights I find myself in a party with no bard and short a DD. Not going to take any more invites from Jinx.
 
Beka, why not used 3 strike and you're out! routine? XD is only 2/3 time you encountered bad exp pt from jinx :3
