Fallout 3

Does anyone know where I get the passcode for the last gun room in the National Guard Depot? This is really starting to annoy me.

You have to collect the 5 Keller family tapes. Four of the tapes have a digit to the pass code for the door in them. I'm not sure if you need the tape from Alex(Tape 1) to get in, but get it just in case you do.

I'm about 60 hours in, and I finally stumbled across a second Super Mutant Behemoth yesterday. I was surprised at how quickly it died from the android's laser rifle. I'll have to go track down the others.

There are 5 behemoths. One is by GRN, another in the Capitol building, and a third at Evergreen Mills, #4 is at Takoma Industrial and i cant remember where the 5th was. Hunting those bastards is one of the best parts of the game, I mean come on they use firehydrants as clubs.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Super_Mutant_Behemoth for Behemoth:

* The Behemoth right outside the entrance to the GNR Building is the easiest to find and is actually impossible to miss if you attempt Galaxy News Radio (quest). You will have ten Brotherhood of Steel members to back you up, though they are not invincible and most will likely be killed quickly. One of the Brotherhood members is in possession of a Fat Man weapon and will die quickly, before having a chance to use it. The lamppost in the area is fragile-looking, but the Behemoth considers it a wall, and it can serve as effective cover from the Behemoth. If you have trouble defeating this behemoth it’s possible just to run to door of the GNR building. There is a back exit to this building so you will not have to face him on the way out. Also when you quick travel back to this location you will be placed behind the sandbags pretty much out of harms way near the door. Another possible strategy is to take cover under the GNR building, coming out when your AP recharges to use VATS.

Behemoth in Evergreen Mills meets a Fat Man from the rooftops
Behemoth in Evergreen Mills meets a Fat Man from the rooftops

* In Evergreen Mills, the Raider-controlled train yard, a behemoth is trapped by an electric fence. When approaching the area from the south, the generator can be easily destroyed with any rifle; a melee will ensue in which most of the raiders will die killing the behemoth. However, no experience will be gained by this method. The easiest method of legitimately defeating the behemoth is to clear the area of raiders, lay several Bottle Cap Mines near the gate(but far enough away from the generator so they don't detonate when it explodes) and then release the locks on the cage. Alternatively, the Behemoth can be attacked by ranged weapons through the mesh gate while the generator is still active. The roof of the nearby train car offers a clear view of him. However, it is possible that the Behemoth may escape during the player's shootout with the Raiders, forcing the player to deal with him in the tight confines of the camp. Another alternative is to jump between the carriages to get to the other side of the carriages. The behemoth will try to get through but can't and eventually will run off. Just jump back over and it comes back, repeat until the Behemoth dies. Normally the Behemoth won't attack any followers with this method.

* A Behemoth can be found in the Capitol Building fighting Talon Company mercenaries at the west entrance. There is a considerable amount of fighting between Super Mutants and Talon Company so its best to just sit back and watch (or snipe if you want the experince points). After a bit you'll find the room under the dome and that is where the Behemoth is waiting. He should be getting shot at by more Talon Company so just wait until he has low health and hit him with one nuke.

* A Behemoth is located southwest of the Takoma Industrial in Takoma Park. There is a truck near a water tower a few feet away. On the truck you can see a dead mercenary and a switch that activates some artillery that makes the fight a lot easier.

* One final Behemoth is located at a Super Mutant camp, after following a series of search party notes (Unmarked quest: Searching for Cheryl). The final note takes you to a camp between the Jury Street Metro Station and Evergreen Mills. Both are located due west of Vault 101. You do not need to get these notes to make this Behemoth appear. Keep going west from Vault 101 until you find Jury Street Metro Station. Head further west from there until you find a bunch of wrecked train cars along with a few Super Mutants. If you're having trouble finding it follow the tracks heading NE from Evergreen Mills. The Behemoth should appear after you enter a carriage filled with shopping cart. Locate two carts with a teddy bear inside and open the "cart cage". Finally taking you to the final location where the last (and hardest to find) Behemoth should have spawned.

Note: You can wait up on the edge overlooking the train carts and wait 12 hours and the behemoth will appear, but sometimes Enclave soldiers may appear as well. They will ally with you against the behemoth but once he dies they turn on you. Fawkes can be helpful here as well.

It's also possible to snipe with Behemoth from the cliffs near the entrance to Evergreen Mills. He won't be able to trace the fire back to you and will continue to schuffle around. Blackhawk is a good weapon for this job.

If you want to resurrect the Behemoth from GNR building for another fight, use ID# 1F1F9 (make sure the roof is high).

Oh man the Behemoth fights were great. The hardest one is probably the one in Arlington, because if you didn't have that area previously... you gotta go ALL the way over there and it's a pain and involves tunnels. There's an artillery you can activate but it seems impossible to hit the Behemoth with it, at least on console version - he's too far off to be "there" when you're at the console, and by the time you get close enough that the game draws him in, you're in his sights.

It goes without saying but for some reason didn't occur to me the first time through. Don't take dogmeat!!!

Every behemoth encounter after the GNR one was simple as killing a mole rat... I one hit two of the behemoths with the MIRV. The others i just used the Alien Pistol...

Sure it's simple if you use those weapons and take the fun out of it.

Wait... So its fun to fight a monster with a China Pistol then? Wtf are you on... It was fun to see all those nukes go off... Thats what is fun. Please dont make killing behemoths out to be some fun challenge, please.

My fun is collecting all the bad ass weapons and putting them to use. Where is the issue there?

I don't know where I said it was an issue. Everyone plays different. I was just commenting on how you said they weren't fun. I think it's fun to find a challenging way to defeat a hard monster with simple weapons.

Example, my friends and I were playing Fallout 3 together, we came across the caged Behemoth at that trainyard. After killing all the Raiders we tried to come up with plans to kill it before it killed us.

First, we shot at it through the fence, barely did any dmg. Then we had the idea that we'll do some massive dmg to it by throwing a grenade in the cage once we open the gate. We did that, knocked the Behemoth like 30 feet in the air, it took fall dmg, and we proceeded to kill with a Flamer and Fisto. We had a blast.

"Taking the fun out of it" seemed like it was an issue to me. Go use the MIRV and then tell me that shit is not fun...

I can imagine it's like the Alien blaster. I found it to be a blast at first but it got old. Took all the challenge out of it.

Lol, you're jumpy to defend yourself because you know what's wrong with this last little thread of conversation. You can't rightly say they're not challenging while pointing out that the challenge is acquiring the weapons that makes the fight easy. The mini nukes are a limited quantity and as such, you save them for challenges, or just save them so you have a clean save for which to go nuts on people with them and then load again.

Myself, I used a Chinese Assault rifle, which was basically my main weapon for the game. Calling a monster challenging in Fallout 3 is all relative though. I could kill anything with my bare fists, just a matter of how many stimpacks it costs me, and things of that nature. No fights are really isolated as the challenge in the game is maintaining healthy supplies for the long term while downing the required targets to advance. If you're out of health items, out of powerful weapons and at the edge of your health bar, that mole rat is just as lethal as anything else.

To me, raiders are the easiest enemy, because they have ammo on them. It's the damn animals that give me trouble, specially those damn ants. Not dangerous on their own, but you'll run out of bullets before they run out of ants.

I myself prefer the Hunting Rifle(Or Ol' Painless) and the Combat Shotgun. They cover both long range and short range.

I have to agree with you, Fire, about the animals. I get screwed on Radscorpions.

What enemy does everyone hate the most? For me it's between Radscorpions and fire ants. Takes so much damage ammo to kill them.

On top of that, I NEVER use laser weapons, melee, or big guns.

The only melee I use is the Deathclaw Gauntlet. I fucking love that thing.

I hate Energy weapons and big weapons. Only good thing about them is that they sell for a nice amount.

Oh, and I fucking hate Mire/NukaLurks.

Nukalurks are awesome. They're just fucking deadly <_< I fear them more then I fear Deathclaws.

Fire i dont understand. There is nothing, i repeat, nothing challenging about Fallout3.

The task of obtaining the super weapons is time consuming and nothing more.. There are also PLENTY of super weapons... So many in fact that i do not save any for "Harder" enemies as you say i just manage ammo by using them in rotation.

I simply use them on everything in a reasonable manner..

Example would be i use MIRV on a behemoth because its sweet and even sweeter for me to one shot them. Technically its not one shot tho eh???? I use the Terrible Shotgun for the majority of monsters as it can one shot most... If by chance it can not then i use the Alien Pistol.

Now any of these weapons can destroy a behemoth its just ammo conservation that makes me use them according to what mob i am attacking.

Anyways i have fun using these weapons and will continue to!

Myrrh the MIRV is a fatman that shoots 8 nukes at once. Pretty ridiculous and fun. If you like the Deathclaw, which is sweeeet... You should also try out Fisto!. Its slightly stronger then the claw but not as intimidating.. Unless Robocop is your worste nightmare?

Anyone know where Roy stored the loot of all the Tenpenny residents? I'd like to steal their stuff D:
