Fallout 3

IGN has a good interview with Bethesda about plans for the new downloadable content, focusing primarily on Operation: Anchorage. They plan to raise the level cap with the third DLC.

FFS thats annoying because I've done tons of shit since hitting the level cap. It'll be annoying to not get xp for them -. -

the DLC ALMOST makes me want to buy it for the PC but SecureROM rootkits arent really my thing. Fucking devs fucking over the PS3 >.<

I freaking love this game. I cant put the damn thing down. It is similar to oblivion in many ways but, with some significant improvements and refinements. I am particularly impressed with the VATS system because it really makes it into a FPS/RPG hybrid. I am just about finished with my first play through (good) and am getting ready for my evil playthrough but I might hold off until some of the DLC comes out.

So they put out the patch for the PS3 that was supposed to fix a lot of problems. I got 20 minutes into the game before my first freeze. I waited 10 minutes and it never cleared up.

Nice patch guys!

I got the patch too, played for maybe 5 hours since the patch, only got one 10 second freeze. The popup freeze is gone. The frame rate feels a little smoother. Also trophy patch if you're into that.

why the fuck isn't the console available on consoles? I mean seriously Bethesda has to know all of their games are buggy as hell. I'm guessing its Sony and Microsoft being paranoid that console commands would somehow create a backdoor allowing us to install 3rd party software >_> they seem to hate letting hackers have fun with their consoles with a passion <_<

EDIT: Just read IGN article FUCK YOU TOO IGN, not even asking if there's any plans for DLC on the PS3. Apparently nobody thinks PS3 owners are gamers anymore.

Bethesda has stated several times that they aren't planning on doing PS3 dlc. I don't know why they'd state otherwise, especially since we all know that we can't trust what devs say anymore.

Man this made me laugh. I was doing the quest with the big fire breathing ants. After I got my injection, I decided the hell with it, and went down to kill the queen ant. After killing her, I decided to destroy the mutagen, but my science wasn't high enough to hack the computer. So I thought I could get it with a frag grenade...

It bounced off of the vials and veered off to the right, just as the scientist dude was walking in... BAM, his leg flew off his body and veered right past my head! He fell down dead, I went over to his body, and it had the passwork to the computer. hacked it and destroyed the mutagen. I had a big grin on my face.

Just got the last bobblehead.

Killed all the superhuman behemoths, did all the quests, main and optional. Explored almost all of the areas.

I'm pretty much done with this game. It was a hell of a great game, but I'm going to reiterate my previous statement - I'm not interested in any DLC. If I'm going to spend more time in an open world RPG, I'd just assume try out Fable 2.

The only DLC I've bought is for Rock Band and I don't think I need to explain that. Subsequently I sold off Rock Band + Instruments and regret the DLC.

In general I don't like when companies throw a game at you and then throw DLC at you that they could have put on the disc but would rather have you buy. They either do that, and piss me off, and not only do I not buy the DLC, but I might not buy the game at all... or they make the game with enough content already, like fallout 3, and then the DLC is completely unneeded.

There's still 20 or so locations I can rummage through, and I can try playing through the game again as an evil build or whatever. I don't need to pump more money into this game.

I hear you but i doubt they could have added this downloadable content to the disk Fire. The game is huge and buggy as shit.. Maybe the conent would have been too much.

Could Sony have pushed for the content to be placed on BRay and downloaded for 360... Would have been a move they need to pay for and you know that is not happenin..

Buggy, yeah? Fillled up a DVD, probably? This is like a PC game of old. It's entirely about gameplay and length as a sales pitch. It has an old school style about it. Yet considering what it is, its production values are way above par. But it's buggy. If I got a 10 second freeze up every 3 or so hours playing Resistance or Gears of War's campaign, I wouldn't even remember it - because after 1 or 2 I'd be done with the game. With Fallout 3 that's like 20 or 30 freezes. You have to take that into account. I can forgive it, but I can't play the same single player game forever. No matter how much variety there is, different areas start to feel similar. The Robot Repair factory will feel like the National Guard Armory. They didn't run out of areas but they run out of different kinds of bad guys, and different kinds of obstacles.

It's just not a single player MMORPG like it feels like when you begin. You hit the cap too quickly. There's a lot to do but not THAT much, and in the end the time consuming nature of simple things begins to get cumbersome. Like, if you missed a bobblehead in Raven Rock, you gotta use an earlier save to go get it, then when you walk around the wastelands, gotta go through the same annoying journeys again.

I guess I'd say with how annoying it can be, they shouldn't make it so easy to miss out on un-redoable things. Shouldn't make needed quest/just 1 of a kind items in areas that you can't go back to. And they should make a new game feature after you finish that gives you some advantages, like... all the areas you've discovered - rediscovered maybe let you keep perks or keep some of the same equipment - or keep your home. Then I might want to do another playthrough - can even add something to make it harder on playthough 2, so it balanced it out. That's why if I was gonna continue playing I'd do it on my PC.

I'd hack myself to all hell and just have fun for about 20 hours or so until I got of that too. Just slapping on more quests and content to the main game a month from now doesnt' appeal to me. If they gave em to me now, I'd play them, but I wouldn't pay for them. in fact I'd actually rather proud of how much of it I managed to complete now, the thought that there's going to be more "work to do" is almost bad.

I guess the point being, at some point, no matter how good a game is, if I'm playing it single player I want to move on eventually.

I've put like, 100 hours into it. It's well lived up to its price tag value wise, BUT, I'm done with it. If I was going to continue playing it, I'd buy the PC version, get way more DLC and for free, and tons of mods and probably a co-op mod soon. As it stands, I've burned myself out on it

I kinda agree with this. No matter how big, it still starts to feel a little old after putting in so much time into it. Hell I haven't even been able to go back and do the final main quest yet >< Need to get on that sometime. To spice it up a bit, I even created a seperate file after I'd done everything and started using the cheat panel to give me a bunch of extra crap to mess around with. Experimental MIRV + God Mode = fun. But only for so long.

Anyways I'm not sure if I'll continue this again when the DLC comes out, I'll have to wait and see.

Just got this game and I have to say, it's pretty badass.

I just installed Fallout 3 and have run into a major problem. My keyboard (Razor Lycosa) doesn't work in game. At all. I can't type, I can't move, I can't even open the menu. I thought there was just some glitch when I couldn't type in a character name, but when I got to the part where you're supposed to take your first steps and walk to your father, I'm entirely stuck. Google has failed to enlighten me, do any of you know what's wrong?

Never heard of a keyboard not working before, you might want to try a different keyboard and see if that's the problem or if there's something wrong with the game itself.

I tried a different keyboard, no luck. There are a couple of people reporting that they have the same problem on the official forums, but no one has found a fix yet.

I updated all my drivers and tried a clean boot. Nothing worked. Then I tried uninstalling all my video/audio codes installing the K-Lite Basic codec pack, because that supposedly helps with another glitch and I was completely out of ideas. After I did, I opened up Fallout and my keyboard worked, but I had no sound (at all, not just in the game). So I exited Fallout, restarted my PC and sound came back, but now the keyboard won't work again. The really wierd thing is that it only blocks my keyboard input after I've logged in to Windows Live. When I first start the game up, I just get a black screen and sound (don't know why), but if I press Enter I get to the main menu where it's loggging me in. After I'm logged in, my keyboard doesn't work. Only the Windows key works, not even Control + Alt + Delete. If I hit the Windows key and then go back to the game, for some reason the menu is open.

I suppose I'll make a tech help post, maybe someone will be able to help.

Got the game yesterday haven't got to play it yet My son has taken it over lol. But it looks awesome from what I have seen watching him play it =).

Does anyone know where I get the passcode for the last gun room in the National Guard Depot? This is really starting to annoy me.
